View 9 RepliesCompletely new to graphic designs, how to properly use CorelDRAW for anything. I am attempting for the first time to convert a bitmap logo to a vector image.
I am able to upload the image into CorelDraw X5, but after that I am just guessing along as what to do and ultimately accomplishing nothing more than frustration.
I have scanned in a document and need to change it to digital art. Since I haven't been able to find a suitable font to match it exactly, I am thinking I'll have to do it by hand.
A sample of the text is below. Should I use the pen tool for this? Or some other tool? I would be glad if you could point me in the right direction. As you can see, the document's blurry so I can't just use a marquee.
I have a very large piece of artwork in my possession. The artwork was originally drawn in high-resolution on a computer, but a true digital copy of the original is not available to the public.
My copy of the artwork is large enough such that the original pixels can just barely be distinguished by the naked eye. I would like to scan it in at extremely high resolution, or take photos of it (multiple photos of various sections may be necessary for enough resolution). Afterwards, I am wondering if Photoshop, some available filter, or other image-processing program would be able to analyze this ultra-resolution scan and reconstruct a perfect copy of the original digital image?
The idea is that if I can see the original pixels with my eye, Photoshop should be able to likewise deduce all the original pixels of the original digital image, and reconstruct it as such via some algorithm, in the original resolution.
I scanned a logo that was designed with a pen. I've cleaned up most of the 'spots' from the paper, being not pure white.
Now, I would like to change the color. It was black, how do I change it to red or blue? I can't flood fill as you would imagine, because not every pixel has the same brightness.
I'm creating two websites for two different clients, and both gave me scanned copies of their logos. I converted them to GIF, JPG, BMP and PNG (from MS paint program), followed all the directions found online in various combinations to remove the white background from these logos. Here's a sample of what I did:
import logo; edit bitmap; change background; used magic wand on white areas; close paint & export doc. I've tried various combinations of clicking on options like transparency, masking, changing the tolerance and nothing works.
On one the white background simply won't go away after saving to my desktop, and on the other there is a grey/white checkerboard pattern on the background.
When it's all said & done, I need to upload these to Wix.com as a PNG.
I'm at my wits end been trying to do this for two days after work, wondering if Corel is even capable of doing this, or if my clients' logos are just unusable or if I'm just losing it.
I have a logo that I need to cut. I have tried scanning a hard copy and I have also tried using an attachment to convert to Corel Draw3 with no success. What are the steps necessary to convert from a scanned copy or from an attachment to Corel Draw3?

I've read at the adobe web site how to do it but there is one catch. When you paste it it says to set it to paste on a new shape layer. I cant seem to make it create a shape layer, only a new one. View 4 Replies View RelatedLast night I created a quick little logo to watermark some pictures with; however, after alot of trying I have been unsuccessful at creating a scalable path around everything in such a way that it doesn't blur the edges. I am trying to do what is found at the link below so that I can later automate the process of inserting the watermarks:
The logo design (see below) is made from a capital letter 'D' and a lower case letter 'm' sharing vertical starting strokes with another font. I am thinking that since the two letters ('D' and 'm') are no longer text that this may not be do able. I couldn't figure out how to delete part of the 'D' and 'm' but still make it possible to 'Create Work Path'. I hope I explained this correctly...I am pretty new to photoshop. Is it possible to take what I have (the .psd version doesn't have the white background) and use it to do what they did on the link?
I'm in need of a good tutorial so i can get the hang of vectorising a logo and be able to create asap.
The logo is a cartoon character and i need to create a vectorised colour version of it.
I have a logo for a Norwegian hockey-fanclub that I would like to clean up a bit, but I dont find a good sollution on how to do it.
Does anybody have a good Idea on how to clean up this logo?
She now tells me she wants it in different sizes without pixel issues. The only way I know to do this is through vectorizing the file. Is there any way at all possible to save this file as a vector without re-creating it?
The file is a multi-layered product which I felt was a bad idea for a logo, but it's what they wanted.
I've read through googling, there are programs to do this for me. I also read somewhere where I could export the file out as a PDF and CorelDraw could do it. But does this mean tracing out the file -- and basically recreating it?
I downloaded the trial of Illustrator but can't figure out the that process either.
Here's my problem: There is this font, Alberto Heavy Hollow, and I want to put it into Photoshop, alter it a bit, and then simply give the new font a black outline and 1 color fill. After that, I can include the colored name in my logo design.
I have tried converting it to paths, outline stroke, then sometimes when I want to do something to the font, under the "Object" selection, the thing I want to do is not activated in bold type.
Is the image trace feature any better at tracing scanned business cars and newsprint ads in order to extract a logo? Clients never seem to have clean copy to supply me with.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'd like to convert this drawing that I made in photoshop (with the pencil tool) into a vector image for use with flash but everytime I try to live trace the image I wind up with something that's got 1000 anchor points or rounded edges. Is there a simple way to convert this image without manually retracing it?
It's imperative that the image keeps hard edges and simple colors. I'm trying to go for an 8-bit look.
I have the adobe design premium package so I can use any of the applications therein.
with a Vector brush I downloaded from:[URL]....need one of the symbols (one below) for a logo but when I enlarge the brush in Photoshop the rounded edges pixalate...
fix this problem, I've tried things like using quick selection and refining the edged (bringing them in) or feathering the edges etc. But it just doesn't look professional and decent for a logo. Here's the direct link:[URL]...
I need the edges where the red arrows are pointing to be smooth.
I have a logo that I created for test purposes at a lower resolution. Is it possible to take the active selection of the logo and create a vector from it without having to manually trace over it with the pen tool or adobe illustrator (I do not own illustrator). If I could do this within Photoshop that would be my preference.

Any one know how to convert text into vector shapes in Pshop. I'd like to do this without interfacing with Illustrator, as that is what I do now. I'd like to take Illustrator out of the equation.

I have a logo that i wish to conver to pms spot colour as that is what the artwork requirement is, it is currently in CMYK.
I am currently using cs5.
Edit, Edit Colours,Recolour artwork, then i am going to colour books and choosing panatone solid coated.
Now it recolours 80% of the logo but leaves some panels as cmyk. I have come across this on different occasions before.
Is it somthing to do with clipping masks? I hope some Illustrator genius can point me in the right direction.
I've created a logo, and I'd like to use it in some PDF documents. I've tried several different methods for converting it into an image, but the image quality really degrades when I do. Maybe I'm expecting too much - since the vector image is essentially perfect - but it seems like there should be a way to come up with a decent looking image. Is there a "best practice" for this process?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe logo on a website needs to be scaled for printing purposes and it was originally created with photoshop without the original .psd layered file. What i have is the .png file which I am looking to convert to vector. I've read from this forum that I can convert to smart object but that is if I had the layered shapes. What is the easiest way to go about doing this?

I have a logo with text that I am starting to need as Vector image to get things printed etc. At this stage I only have this as photoshop document and jpeg.

I'm just starting to explore converting images to vector in CorelDRAW and am running into what, I hope, is a rookie problem.
There is white space between the lettering below the main logo image and I'm wondering how to make it transparent like the rest of the background.
How to convert clipart files into dxf vector files if this is possible?
View 4 Replies View Relatednew to illustrator and im trying to convert a digitally generated pdf. into a vector format/file without the pixel data. I have drawn up a logo/font (in autocad as thats what i know) and made a pdf from it to send to a printing company that only deals in vector format. i can import the image and get a trace of it but the frames add radii to corners and im having trouble isolating the vector/trace result to make a seperate file from (to send off)
so, its there an easier way to get a vector file from my pdf image
I'm trying to Extrude my logo in After Effects CS6 to appear 3D. My understanding is I need to import an Illustrator file (.AI) in order to "Creat Shapes from Vector Layer". I'm having trouble opening a .PSD and then saving it as an .AI. The file is empty when I open it in After Effects.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been working on converting a vector into a shape and am having no luck. I've done this before and have had no problems. I import my vector .ai into AE as a comp (sequence tickbox not selected). Once I've got it in, I drag to the project, then click layer > create shape from vector layer. My shape populates at the top, my .ai file is off and what is just one of the three colors, along with the shap. I've checked the the shape's contents, every group has the correct fill with the correct blending mode. Also, I've tested other logos with the same results--one color displays while the others don't. I'm working with "ray-traced render engine" And, I've reset my preferences.
