Photoshop :: Convert Photos Using Tools - Imagine Processor
Feb 11, 2013
when I attempt to convert photos using the Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor option in Adobe Bridge. I used this methodology in the past and the conversion to JPG or TIFFs would fly with no interruption. Now I am getting now getting getting dialog boxes with "New Snapshot" in the title, I click OK, then get a message, "The command "Feather" is not currently available," I click "continue, and get a "New Layer" dialog box, I click OK, and get a "Fill" dialog box, I click OK and the JPG or Tiff is then generated. This series then starts over on the next photo to generate. I am using Photoshop CS5 on a MAC. I did uninstall and reinstall Photoshop l, but I am getting the same series on messages.
Before with 6 I can drag icons of tags persons to imagine (Organizer). Now, with upgrade to 11, I do not find icons tag of persons and I do not understand how drag tags to imagine. Then, how I can see tag (previous) under the imagine? (Organizer)
I have several thousand photos that were taken with a digital camera set to take photos with a 3:4 ratio. When I try to print them, they get cut off. I've found that if I resize, copy, then paste to a 4x6 blank photoshop file, and save it as a jpeg, they print just fine (with some extra white space on the ends). This process takes 45-60 seconds per picture.
I am using InDesign for a class presentation. I was told I should convert any Photoshop images that I use from RGB to CMYK for printing, but I am just printing it at home on my little desk-jet.
Second question: If it IS necessary, why do I get a alert in Photoshop saying "You are about to convert to CMYK using 'U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2' profile.
Any ideas how to convert photos to line drawings? The best I've come up with so far is greyscale, then filter / stylize / find edges. Not bad .... but I think I could do better.
My version of Photoshop Elements 9 does not have the option "duotone" in the Image - Mode tab. I've got some grayscale photos I'd like to convert to duotones, but Adobe's instructions all say to choose "duotone" from that tab ... but it's not available.
I just purchased a copy of Elements and have never used it before. Most of my features (such as layers etc) are grayed out. However, my "covert to 8bit/channel" option is grayed out and I can't work out how to choot in 8-bit or how to covert my 24 bit photos to 8-bit.
Having a lot of issues manipulating points on paths in Illustrator CC - this is a fundamental feature of creating vector graphics and it's very annoying I'm paying for this and it's just not working. Eating up a lot of my time simply because I can't select or convert or add the anchor.
I had 9875 photos that I wanted to convert to the latest DNG format and also include lossless compression and embed fast load information.
I marked all photos and selected 'Convert photos to DNG' from the library menu.
Days went by and the convertion worked almost perfectly.
30 photos can not be converted but Lightroom does not tell me why. Some photos are copies of others and the originals has been converted without problems.
i have cs5 suite. last week everything fine in photoshop. this week, only the tools that are showing are available to use. i can not access the tools when i click on the corner of individual tools. i am running version 10.6.8
I have done LOTS of detailed research into ppi, dpi etc.
I believe I do understand the difference. Whenever I open a picture in gimp it opens at 72ppi. I wish to scale all my photos to 300 ppi so i can use a template I made of the exact same size paper as my printer uses without having to worry about the printer rescaling my photos from 72 ppi to whatever dpi it needs.
I have converted lots manually and am assured that this works for my purposes (not professional just scrapbook and photo album prints)
I have two questions though; 1. Is there a freeware program, or a way through gimp, that I can batch convert multiple files up to 300ppi. 2. Why when I change the ppi of a photo does the filesize become larger? Surely the ppi is just a reference number to know how many pixels to display and to convert for printing?
I have a long and complicated road trip timelapse photo set I'm converting to an animation. That i've managed to sort out. However I also have some panoramas that i took here and there. I'm trying to take these panoramas (about 11 of them) into their component images, but with an overlap so that they will be in the animation appearing as a pan.
So I have about a dozen of these fairly wide images (2096 x 544 for one of them), and each of these i want to split into about ten images with a reasonable "overlap".
Given the amount of potential images, and my desire to have a smooth pan, making composite images manually wouldn't really work.
I've been using ifranview to bulk crop and resize images but i couldn't work out a way to do this so I switched to GIMP, which I'm not great with.
I've grabbed the guidelines every x pixels script and guillotine into layers plugin, hoping I could guillotine across multiple guideline "units" but all it's given me is dozens of vertical slices of the image.
I could merge and duplicate them but that would take ages.
At the moment I'm thinking my best option is to put the guidelines on and use selections to snap to guidelines and paste as seperate layers, then save all the layers as seperate files. However that still seems very slow and clunky and i'm wondering if there's a better way.
downloading a trial version of CS2 but I'm worried that the 1.6 G.hz processor on my laptop is not going to be powerful enough. The system requirements say 1.8.
Total buffoon when it comes to getting GIMP to do what I want to do. I'm just practicing with making maps, black lines on a white background, and I've run into some issues I'm wondering if I can get rectified.
1) For whatever reason, the line weight of everything has shifted throughout the file, ending with some lines lighter and grayer than others. Is there a way I can get GIMP to trace all the lines in a uniform black, with uniform thickness?
2) I have tried locking the white background, but often when I select and move my black lines, if I don't click in just the right spot it moves the white background instead, which is really, reeeaaaly aggravating. How Do I get that background to be completely untouchable?
3) In trying to colour the image, I've run into problems with their being a white outline between the colour and the black lines. I think I need to sharpen the image or somesuch? How can one correct this issue?
4) Is there anyway to convert the black dotted lines of the paths tools into straight black lines, in regards to an older file? If not, is there an easy way to trace them?
5) I find the scale too tends to make my image too jagged. I want to take a section of my map, move it too another file and enlarge it to do detail work - what's the best way to do this in order to have a clear image?
6) Any way to translate an image from a MErcator Projection ot a Winkell-Trippel projection, one that works on a Mac?
I instal form SDK User Tools because I need in Inventor Drawing Tools (Revision cloud). I do this install like on website Autodesk show and I didn't get it on ribbon. I do also registry of this plugin but I also didn't get it.
I'm purchasing a new Mac Pro 12 Core Desktop and I was wondering can Cs6 use all 12 cores of the processor ? Also, How much real ram can Photoshop use ?
Why when I'm in Bridge and use the image processor, it's not closing the files after processing in Photoshop cs5? It did about a day or so ago and now all of a sudden it wont.
Photoshop CS6 says it has detected an error in the graphice driver, but I can't find any errors. I have reinstalled several versions of the display driver--no change. The graphics card is NVIDIA GTX 550Ti.
I usually use Image Processor to apply an action on tons of files on CS2. When I upgraded to CS3, I simply copied the actions over to the new action folder. Problem is, with long actions, CS3 doesn't close each file after it has performed the action unlike CS2, leaving the desktop filled with processed photos. Also a dialog box appear at the end with the message "Sorry, I could not process the following fileslist of files)". still, the processed files are saved in the destination folder. But here's the funny thing, when I run short actions, everything is ok.
I want to buy Photoshop CS4 but I read that I need a minimum 1.8 GHz processor in my PC. My processor is 1.6GHz. What will happen if I try install it in my PC anyway? Will it work? If not, is it possible to upgrade my processor?
There seems to be way too many tools in the tools panel for me. Many of them I will rarely, if ever use. Is there any way I can rearrange or remove some of them? It would unclutter the screen immensely.
I have an interactive board with tools (such as pen or eraser) which I want to integrate with the AI. The typical scenario woulld be as follows: the user lifts the pen from the tray, the pen event will me mapped into selecting Pencil Tool from AI toolbar after which the user can add freehand annotations to the AI document.
Is there an API which would allow me to map abailable hardware tools with relevant AI tools? Is there an example which would demonstrate such integration?
Before opening an image in CS6 beta the 'Use Graphics Accelerator' is enabled; after opening an image, it is not and then an error is generated 'This feature requires graphics procesor acceleration . ' when attempting to use a filter/feature which requires HW acceleration. I have a supported graphics card, Radeon 6870, Windows7 64 bit, 8GB Ram. I've tried all 3 Advanced Settings.
I just got a fresh upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro (not beta) but then I can't use Photoshop that well. In the Preferences > Performance, I can't tick "Use Graphics Processor". I have an ATI graphics card and yep, I've already tried upgrading/reinstalling my graphics driver, even installing old ones -- and still, this doesn't solve my problem (even in its control panel, I can't seem to see the settings of the graphics card!)
I am trying to automate - image processor. From open files i am just trying to save theese pdf's as jpg's. Should be straight forward but I get this error...
"There were no source files that could be opened by Photoshop."
I have a trial of CS6. I want to use the Oil painting option, but I get a note telling me to be sure that the Graphics Processor is checked. It is. Now what?
