Using the tutorial on page 2 of Animated Text in PS (using 6.0), I am not getting the desired result. Ctr/Alt click on the line between the text and image layer only results in dancing ants around text. It does not cut the image as in your example.
If the cursur is place low I get: Group with previous (in history); if it is placed evenly on the line I get Load selection.
How do I clip an image or make the background transparent in PS CS4?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Illustrator CC. I have created a compound shape and then used it as a mask to clip an image to the shape so that the vector image is the background to the shape I created. Now, I have text over parts of the shape and I would like to cut the text out of the compound shape. I.e. A hole through the object in the shape of the text. Also, I should probably note that the object that I want to cut the text out of is considered a "Clip Group" in the Layers panel.
I have tried a number of different options that I have found on forums, etc but none seem to work. So far I have tried:
1. Converting the type to an outline and then selecting the Clip Group and the type and then making a compound path. The result: An error starting "Can't make a compound path. A compound path cannot combine a clipping mask with an ordinary path."
2. Selecting the type and the Clip Group and then using Minus Front in the Pathfinder panel. Result: An error stating "The filter produced no results. Please select two intersecting paths."
3. Selected the type and set the transparency to 0% in the Transparency panel then selected the type and the Clip Group and then tried Difference and also Exclusion. Result: Nothing but transparent type.
I am attaching a picture of the object and the text I want to cut from it and also the Layers panel.
I have been using different versions of Ulead for over 20 years! In the past I was able to save an image in JPEG format on my desktop after saving the clip as an image in the library. Now when I save it to the desktop it only saves it as a "uvs file" which is not recognized by photo editing software

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am completely baffled by what is happening to my text. I am using a Windows 7, 64 bit computer and CorelDraw X6, and am trying to create a 3" round button graphic. About two weeks ago, I created a photo button and wanted to put white text on top of the button. This worked fine, and I sent the proof to the client.
They wanted to change the text and so I went in to change the text to what they wanted. That's when things went weird... Now, when I retype the text to insert it on the round path, I position it and then when I click off the text, the text is no longer white, but rather it has an orange outline and no fill!
I look at the color boxes and yes, the fill is white with no outline. I am no expert by far, but have been using Corel for many years. I do notice that whenever Windows does their little "updates" my computer gets wonky and they did about two of those updates in the last two weeks.
Today, I did a system restore back to 9/12/12, but it is still happening.
I was surprised at not finding any questions about this on the forum. Is their a way to create a mirror image of a video clip?

Is there a simple way to add a white border around a still image or video clip in Premiere Pro CS 5.5? I've seen the suggestions for adding a radial shadow and am unsatisfied with the results; it's nearly impossible to center the image within the border and many other suggestions out there do not address CS 5.5.
View 20 Replies View RelatedWhen I copyclip a dimension from one drawing with UCS set to world/north, then paste into another drawing with UCS rotated in Z (south for example), the text remains oriented to north. The original drawing doesn't have to be set to world, just something different from the paste orientation.
Is there a way to have the text orient itself to the current UCS at paste?
Using X5 pro, a project comprising an introduction and 6 clips was created, with menu. Each clip has its own sound (voice and music). The rendering config included 2 pass conversion and normalise sound checked, for creation of a disk image on an HDD folder. The preview worked fine - vision and sound OK. Because there were multiple disks to be made, the image creation also worked fine, as did the burn disk from iso.
But when the resulting disk was played back after burning, the first clip on it had no sound. Imagery fine, just no sound. It wasn't an isolated case. A repeat try - with particular care to check this aspect, ie sound on the clip, was OK during preview - got the same result in the final disk.
I use Xara sometimes to resize images/photos. Quite often I use the clip view function to crop the image to the precise size I need.
I just recently found that when I export my clipped views, always as pngs, they have a very small 1 to 2 pixel edge around them. I can keep clipping but it continues to stay there. I exported with alpha and without to see if it made a difference but it doesn't.
I am now having to use my raster program to resize but had liked using Xara for it. The raster program works fine and I suppose every program has its uses so I just won't use Xara for photo clipping and exporting anymore. I just think that there shouldn't be an issue since Xara seems to want to handle photos more.
The attached images show extreme closeup of a blue image on a black background (the black background is used for checking this very problem).
When I select a clip, it then goes to the start of the clip, how can I sop this happening and the clip stays in the same position when selected.

View 3 Replies View Related1. I put a clip in a timeline , then i put a cfx clip on top of the first clip. Add axis clip to cfx clip, set transparancy to 100% (fully transparent) , when hit render , this cfx is still calculated.
2. if i have stack of cfx clips, the clips are solid (no matte or transparancy ). one clip is on top of the other. In the top layer , i add a axis fx and cut a very small hole. We can see even a very small hole ( that will exposed small part of the bg ) will trigger smoke to render both of the clip full frame. Actually i only will see small part of the BG so i'm expecting smoke to render only that visible pixel. How to control this ? In some case i will waste my time waiting smoke to render part that i don't need.
Any ideas how ot fix this? Every time I try to enter text, the edges of the text is surrounded/selected with lines going around it....how do I stop that and have it stop turning my image red (Its supose to be brown, until I click it then it turns red), it isnt even using the correct colors that I set it at.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing Elements 9 I was adding black text to a .jpg image. Somehow during the process, the text being entered defaulted to a "wavy, illegible set of characters". Spent 30+ minutes looking at FAQs and have given up. I want to reset to default simple clear black characters. Closing and restarting Elements does not resolve this issue. When ending a newly entered set of text - still get "wavy, illegible set of characters!"

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am setting a book in Indesign CS2.I use "Text frame options" > align > justify on all my pages. On a page that was so justified, I inserted a picture using the "text wrap". Soon as I did, the text stopped being aligned along the foot of the page (which looks rotten, because the facing page is justified and so the spread is now no longer aligned.
I tried to I use "Text frame options" > align > justify again, but now the option to align is now greyed out.
This Q must be very old. Why can´t someone invent a sigle button for this I have tried all the things by the book but still when I try to lay text image with white background over an image the white is still there althoug I made it transparent. tried to sa for web as png-8, png-24 and gif. nothing works. To use magic wand gives bad result when applied to text? So what can I do? I am trying to place text over image. I know I could write it over the image but I need the text as a transparent layer some place else.

I really like some of the text(s) I make using the word art function in Micrsoft Excel 2010 but it seems I can't cut and paste them onto the image when using GIMP.
Is there a tutorial on putting text onto an image and making the text glow like a light saber?
I am often using text within AutoCAD 2012. Here is what I do, look at the attachments:
1. Create the text using the mtext tool
2. Explode the text using the txtexp tool
But, when I explode the text, lines appear inside the text like in the image. I then have to explode the whole thing and delete these lines manually. Any tool or add-on to get around this annoyance every time I insert text.
Here is what I want to do. I have the letters 'XC' which I've played with a bit to look the way I want and due to anti-aliasing has nice edges. Now I want to basically fill those letters with an image. I can't figure out how to do this and keep the nice anti-aliased edges.
Current steps:
1. load image as base layer
2. Create new layer with text in it
3. using magic wand select a threshold that has smoothest edges on text layer
4. select image layer and copy the selection area... notice the hard edges of the finished result in the attached example. I want it nice and smooth and anti-aliased.
How to do this more elegantly? I've attached the basics of what I'm doing and the result.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm presently trying to create a logo for my website composed of just text. It includes the url and a distinct strapline.
The problem I'm having is that using the text tool to generate an image produces pixellated text at any resolution. I seem unable to get nicely formed text with rounded edges.
I have an image and I type a large Bold font over the image....then I make it transparent, but I don't know how to cut the text out with image imbedded so that the picture is "in" the text. Then I want to erase the picture leaving just the text with the background of the text being some of the picture.

I can add text to the jpeg in the font, colo and manner that I want. Now what I'd like to be able to do is:
1) Curl the text around an object (say a head),
2) AND/OR have the text placed diagonally on the page (i.e. image).
I have a gif image of Text that I'm pretty sure I created with GIMP a long time ago (See Attachment). I want to inrease the box to create another line of Text. How can I find out what font the original is and how do I add height to the image to add an additional line of text.
The attachment is a PNG but doesn't seem to be showing up correctly. I'll try to both attach it and insert it..
