Whenever I go to file and new it pops up saying "Could not create a new document because the scratch disks are full" I have go into edit>preferences>plug ins and scratch disks and tried changing the settings to no avail. My first is startup and my second is C: I changed them around and it doesnt help. I tried a full uninstall and reinstall but it still says it !Any ideas what is wrong and how it can be fixed??
View 2 RepliesWhen I first installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 I was unable to run Photoshop or Bridge CS6. Photoshop would give me an error about "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. If I ran either of these programs as an administrator they would run without issue, this led me to believe that there was a permission issue somewhere. After some digging I found out the both Bridge and Photoshop try to create a temp file (similiar to Photoshop Temp2777223910092) on the c: drive of the computer. In my case the user that I was logged in with did not have access to write to the root of the C: drive. Note that you run the program as the administrator and change the scratch disk location as that changes the preference for the administrator user and not the user that you are currently logged in as.
I first had to give the user that I was logged on with write permissions to the root of the C: drive. Next try and run Photoshop, you will get an error another error about the scratch disk and about and invalid or missing setting file. To correct this you need to have run Photoshop as an administrator, next you can go to Users AdminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and copy Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs and/or Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs to Users<your logged in username>AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6.Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro running Lion, OS X 10.7 that I purchased two months ago so it's relatively new. Just bought Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended and installed it on the computer a day ago. Software will not operate unless I hold option+command+shift when starting so that the preferences file is deleted.
I suspect that the problem stems from a plugin that I deposited into the plugins folder, because the software was working at first. I didn't piece this together until after the fact, but once I fired up the software a couple times after installing it, it worked fine each time. I noodled around and checked some things out to see what's new in CS5, then I went ahead and deposited a favorite plugin into the plugins folder. Things stopped working after this. Not positive the plugin is related, but thought I should mention it.
I removed the plugin of course, to no avail. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software three times. No difference. When I open the software without deleting the prefs file, it's just buggy and non-responsive. Can't start a new project, and thing just end up crashing every time. The software is useless without deleting the prefs file when firing it up.

For example; view preferences, I want to work in third angle, I have this selected on the template but each time I start a new idw I have to change it from 1st angle.
e.g. 2; sheet size, I changed it from text to a drawing property, but it doesn't change when I edit the sheet size.

I already tried several fixes like:
1. reinstall all redist(x64 & x86).
2. reinstall .Net 4.0
3. Use CCleaner for Registry error.
4. chckdsk for error and fix.still error so I've gone through this.
5. I uninstall Autocad 2014 completely, uninstall it manually one by one,deleted left over folder of autodesk or similar software to it, deleted its registry keys.just like the instruction on how to remove autocad completely in autodesk, I just followed it all. [after Reboot]
6 I Re-install it and still the problem persist.

He is insisting on it, because of the vector file. I have a design file that was completed in a layerd PSD. I want to know what, if any, quality is lost from converting from PSD to .AI vector file? I'm trying to start Excel and show the results of some BOM items I have written to a file like item number, part number and description.The task is to find components in an assembly that have a part number longer then 39 characters, due to ERP limitations.
What I´m doing is cycling through all BOM (structured) items on first level and check if the part number is longer then 39 characters.
I write these item number, part number, description to an Excel file (temp.xlsx), so the user sees which Components he has to check for the Part Number (make it shorter). I figured it would be best to do that with an excel file, so the user can save the results to a new file or just check it.
Values will be erased from the temporary excel file afterwards.Here I can't figure out how to start the excel application and open the file in an actual application window if possible.

After running perfectly for months my CS5 will now not start from either the icons or the applications folder. I've done the following;
1. Uninstalled it.
2. Deleted all the relevant folders.
3. Run the clean up utility.
4. Rebooted the computer.
5, Reinstalled CS5.
6. Run the updater.
7. Restarted the computer.
Everything else (Bridge, RAW etc) works fine, and if I open the CS5 package and run the unix executable it fires up. The terminal window does say "No javatime present, requesting insatll", but I have the latest Java running on my machine. I'm running OSX on a 2012 imac i7. All software and drivers are upto date.
I get the message Photoshop.exe - System Error "The program can't start because QtCore4.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I've tried reinstalling Photoshop CS6 but the problem remains, together with the message.

I uninstalled Photoshop, remove an old after effect CS3 that was left (to be sure) and reinstalled Photoshop, but still the same message.I never installed Photoshop on this computer before, so I didn't do something wrong with its preferences.
I am running XP Pro with SP3 and all current patches. My dvd drive is a Plextor PX-760A. At first neither the CS4 application dvd nor the Learning dvd would start in my drive.
Then I flashed the drive firmware from 1.04 to 1.07.
This drive uses the windows drivers. Plextor does not supply drivers.
After flashing the firmware the CS4 Learning dvd starts fine. I also found my CS3 dvd and it also starts fine.
However, the CS4 application dvd will not spin up. The drive makes 2 faint beeps, tries to spin up the disk a few times and then gives up.
Any suggestions on what I might try before calling Adobe and asking for a replacement disk?
I dont know if this is related to my problem... but i installed about 1,500 fonts yesterday. And today i tried opening PS7 and i am getting the attached error. It displayes the splash screen and when it is done it displays the error. I tried using the direct file link, making a new image, opening an exsisting image. All does the same thing. Once i click okay it bombs out. Any ideas?

Photoshop CS3 will not open any documents now and instead gives me the error:
The application has failed to start because VersionCue.dll was not found.
VersionCue CS2 is running, which is bizzare because I've got the full CS3 suite.
I entered the serial, I got the green checkmark, clicked OK, then PS just randomly closes.
I try to open PS again, and some license agreement comes up, I click Accept, and that window closes, followed by PS NOT starting up. I even got the latest updates and all that. I've been google searching this crap for an hour.
Ive been using PS CS3 for a long while. All of a sudden it wont load. The logo comes on the screen and you can see it reading files. When it gets to reading preferences it stops and just hangs.
