Photoshop :: Can Make Custom Clothing For 3D Models
Jul 19, 2012
it is possible to custom clothing for 3D Daz models using Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended? I can find tutors on painting models but nothing on making the custom clothing itself, not a texture for other clothing but making my own clothing for DAZ Kids4. I have been using Hexagon to work with clothing but was looking for a photoshop alternative method.
i've modeled a character or two from scratch in max. (nothing spectacular) I also used a character pack a few years ago. I was wanting some info on the best way to model a new character. I would like opinions on zbrush, poser, etc. Something that is very compatible with max.
What is the process that you take when creating a character. Don't feel the neeed to write a book I get the basics. Been out of the game for a while, but very glad to be back. Been playing around with fumefx, houdinni ocean, and ivy lately.
I was wondering how I could duplicate the texture of this gear/star thing? I want to use the same texture for a square shaped frame. I already tryed messing with the bevel and emboss layer style but I didnt get a the matching result that I desired.
My next question is how do I make my own custom bevel and emboss layer style textures?
We are looking for a workflow example of developing casting models into machining models.
Typically our castings are made from different materials (Fig-1) and then machining (Fig-2) are created from these castings.
Is creating the casting as an iPart (with different materials) and then deriving the machining from the casting the proper method?
Doing it this way seems to force us into making a machining for each casting material instead of just one machining that is an iPart. How should this be set-up for BOM purposes and for use with Vault (Base Version)?
I'm a feshmen fashion photog and do all of my post-processing myself... I want to create the "Plastic" look that you see so often in Maxim and in these photos' cases, Stuff.
I've messed with Gaunisson (sp) blurred layers and things of that nature, but I've never achieved this look. Once again, I'm not a master airbrusher and don't intend on being one.
I am looking for a couple of plugins that can help me add texture and draping effects to my clothing designs, which at the moment don't even look 2D. Am looking also for something that will help me design and implement patterns, such as checks with out having to copy and paste. The easier to use the better as I do not know Photoshop CS that well.
I m using Photoshop to work on clothing textures and later import them into Second Life. Most of the time I use Dodge and Burn tool to create the effects on clothing. I believe there are other methods to create verry good looking clothing such as this picture shows (please take a look only at the pants and the effects) What else (or methods) can you use to create such great (wet)look? Thank you for the upcomming help and advice. I've done many many searches for this type of effect, but I haven't had much luck. I'm trying to create a sequence of images of ripped clothing. As in the Incredible Hulk, busting out of the clothes.
In the past I've used the smear tool with different shaped brushes, but that doesn't really do it too well.
I am trying to change the color of some clothing from black to a tan or gray.  I have seen tutuorials that use a hue/saturation layer mask to accomplish this task. But I find that with black clothes nothing happens when I change the hue. I assume this is because of the black? At any rate, what is the best way to turn something from black to another color?
I need to batch texturize a ton of image with a clothing fabric I have loaded to get the look I need. I now how to batch image but can't find a way to use the batch image with texturizer and a texture I have loaded. Can this be done? If so, how?
I have been using Photoshop for a while now but have recently been invited to design some sportswear. I want to initially take existing clothing and change the colours and add designs. As an example, how would I get this soccer kit to be either all white or white on everything apart from the shorts?
I have managed to get yellow to go white using the hue/saturation tool but dark colours seem like its impossible. I do also want to know how to go from white to a darker colour but maybe I should save that for my next thread.
I have received a new logo from our brand developers. The spec is
C - 0 M - 98 Y - 75 K - 22 Â or Pantone 1805 Â or R - 191 Â Â Â Â G - 49 Â Â Â Â B - 26 Â I get a different colour depending on which spec I use, and if I sample a digital document, a fourth variation on red. Am I just not understanding these colour specs? I want to be able to reproduce the logo on printed documents, and use it for embroidery on clothing. I also need to produce adobe pdf files and jpegs to email copy to advertisers.
I am trying to trace my signature using Pen Tool to later appear as a shape in the Custom Shape Options. When I trace all the image, using the free form pen tool, the Define Custom Shape option does not appear.
Alright, so I'm trying to import a checker pattern onto my drawing for clothing decoration. The first time I did it, no problem, but now when I try to import a layer it doesn't work the way I want it to. When I try to erase parts of it, instead of being transparent, it erases away white. (See attachment) How can I fix this?
how to edit/make a gradient with Gimp. I have opened the gradient editor, but whenever i click anywhere nothing seems to do anything. i tried clicking the black arrow,s the white arrows, but i don't see anywhere i can do what i need exactly.
when i right click within the editor area also, most things are greyed out making it unclickable.
What I'm trying to do is make custom app icons for my (Android) phone. I want them to have a transparent, glassy look to them. Here's a picture of the style I'm talking about:

I found this on a website that supposedly has tutorials for this kind of thing, but I couldn't find anything except a download link, which I found on this part of the site (scroll down until you get to "3D Transparent Glass Text Effect"):

Thing is, the downloaded .zip doesn't seem to contain anything I can use. There's a .pat file, but I get an error every time I try to get GIMP to use it. There's also a .psd file (which I know is technically for Photoshop), but when I open that in GIMP, it's just two layers of a slightly faded black text saying "etc" on a background, all covered up by a big black rectangle.
How to make custom 3D bevels for CS5? (Elf Shoe)I'm drawing some elf cartoon characters, and I want to create some shoes, basically an elongated 'cookie' type of shape. This one shows the default 'rounded' bevel, but I want it the arc to be angled to give a more rounded top...
I downloaded autocadlt14 today. I am able to get into the program and go to autocad classic. I can open my drawing from autocad2002 and work with them. When I try to create a custom toolbar in classic it does not save it when I close the program.
