How is it possible to put a web header that is saved on my PC desktop into GIMP to start customizing it?
The Web header I have is 279 pixels long. I would like this extending to 800 pixels. How is this done?
How do you add text and images to the web header? How do you alter the font and size of the text and images?
When finished adding text and images to the header, how do you then get the web header from GIMP to the Web Page?
However I'm tired of having all my sites being so square... so how do I round the edges at the top & bottom header & footers. Here would be one simple example: ....
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow to edit/make a gradient with Gimp. I have opened the gradient editor, but whenever i click anywhere nothing seems to do anything. i tried clicking the black arrow,s the white arrows, but i don't see anywhere i can do what i need exactly.
when i right click within the editor area also, most things are greyed out making it unclickable.

I found this on a website that supposedly has tutorials for this kind of thing, but I couldn't find anything except a download link, which I found on this part of the site (scroll down until you get to "3D Transparent Glass Text Effect"):

Thing is, the downloaded .zip doesn't seem to contain anything I can use. There's a .pat file, but I get an error every time I try to get GIMP to use it. There's also a .psd file (which I know is technically for Photoshop), but when I open that in GIMP, it's just two layers of a slightly faded black text saying "etc" on a background, all covered up by a big black rectangle.
How is the above pictures done in photoshop? This method is used in many places, such as makign headers for websites, skins (lcd display type).. etc... I don't know if it is done using normal photoshop or if additional plugins/brushes/filters etc. are used... Can someone provide some info? I don't need the whole thing spoonfed to me dont misunderstand... Just point me in the right direction please.
On the first one.. the color variation gives it a realistic effect..
on 2nd and 3rd.. the buttons etc... the shine on the corner gives it the glass kind of effect... I've seen a winamp skin make use of the same (called MMD3)...
When I create custom brushes and custom brush dynamics is it possible to associate one with another? For example then I select one of my custom brushes is there a feature in gimp to load corresponding dynamics preset automatically?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThier external hard drive is showing up twice in the Folder panel. Two volume headers are displayed, but again there's only one drive. At first glance it looked as though they were dupicate lists. But, upon further clicking, we found that they are not the same. One header shows 9 folders less and 2000 images less. One shows some LR modifications of the images, but the other header doesn't of the same images. All new imports go header #2, though all previous imports are in both headers. There are missing images in one header, but they are not missing in the other.
Using the comand Show in Finder shows of course the same folder (again there's only one drive). Trying to move a folder or image from one volume header to the other gives an expected error of "there's already and item of that name..." Syncronizing the same folder in each volume header gives different results (we aborted of course).
It's almost as if there are two catalogs running simulatiously. Each showing something different for the same volume.
Oh, I was just informed that this occured just after an upgrade from LR 3.6 to LR 4.3. Mac OS 10.7.
The pen tool option has changed. It no longer has the custom shape squiggle?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI like to make and print custom cards for family and friends. I use a heavy matte finish paper to print on. But the printing is never as vibrant as my screen image, and this includes photos.
Today I tried this and it worked fine. I converted the image to be printed to a 300dpi bitmap, then using the Photo Tool > Enhance menu, I increased the Saturation to the point where the image looked psychedelic. When I printed on the dull finish card stock, the colors looked just right.
Is there a way to make transparency on custom brushes? I had an idea to make custom brush sets similar to those used in photoshop. I know in Photoshop, Custom Brushes are done with opacity maps With white being transparent and black being full color and all the greys in between being different levels of transparent. I've tried doing that with custom brushes mini and I've also tried making the images transparent, but I just cant seem to make it work. I can get either completely solid and completely transparent. But nothing in between...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have made a large amount of custom parts in a systems furniture drawing I am doing. I made the mistake of putting them all on the same layer and am now realizing i need them to be on separate layers. I tried to just make new layers and then assign the new layers to my custom parts. It acts like it does it but then the parts behave as if they were still on the common layer that i originally created them on. Is there a way to get the custom parts to only be linked to the new layer and not act like they are still on the original layer? My other thought was if i made a new layer, then drew my custom symbol again using that layer... could I then somehow tell my custom part to now use this new symbol that is on the new layer instead of the current symbol that is on the bad layer? I am trying to avoid having to completely start over creating all my parts again because there are at least 30 and I had already put in all of the options, atriubtes, part numbers, pricing, etc... and it would be very time consuming to start that over.

I would like to create a trapezoid shape and be able to color it in, just like I'm able to do with the PathItems (e.g. rectangle, ellipse). I would like to be able to do this in Javascript.
I was thinking it might have to do with PathPoints, but Adobe's Scripting Reference Guide does not make it clear.
