View 1 Replies View Relatedthe only property I can actually define for each individual sheet (for use in iLogic, text fields, etc.) is the sheet name. This is extremely limiting. Each sheet in my drawings has several properties of its own--sheet number (most importantly), what part is ON the sheet, the designer, the revision, etc. I would love to be able to use each of these in labels on the sheet, for example, a text box with "<Sheet #> - <Part> (<Designer>)". The only possible way I could do something like this is to use the sheet number as the Sheet Name, and then use that value in the sheet's text labels, headings, and title block. However, I want to be able to use descriptive names for the Sheet Name, plus that's just one property.
Is there any way I can create and define multiple custom properties for individual sheets? I was exploring the idea of using iLogic, using the ActiveSheet command, possibly, and "tricking" inventor into creating properties for a given sheet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI really did search on this. All I found elsewhere was a very complicated custom batch file tweak-install. Does this mean that this program can only install everything that comes with it? I am considering an upgrade but do not want to install each and every sub-product that comes with extended.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEverytime I want to use the 3D Mode on Photoshop CS5 Extended, the one option the I need is disabled.
My videocard can handle the graphics. So that is not the problem. The one that I need is "New Shape From Layer". The "New 3D Postcard From Layer" and the "New Mesh From Grayscale" are usable.
Why the custom option for live trace would be ghosted in CC?
I haven't changed any settings, and as far as I know it's been like that since the initial install.
The option is there... can't click it...

I have created a custom measurement tool to measure distances (captured from sattelite imagery, and using the distance key as the guide) and it works great. However, I would like to be able to use the same tool to measure curves/radiuses. Say for instance a mountain road. I know the scale of the photo, and can measure any straight (line) angle, but can I do the same for a curve or radius using the same scale?

The custom shape layer, has a layer thumbnail and a vector mask thumbnail next to it. I am new to using layers please explain in baby steps.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am playing with the custom shapes. If for example I use a paw print custom shape is there a way to change the direction of it on the page. It seems if I want to have maybe 20 paw prints on graphic they will all be facing the same way. Is there a way to move them individually so they don't look all the same? I hope that makes sense.
How can I create the custom header shape:
I have not ventured much into the pen tool and I am totally illiterate when it comes to this tool.
My question is about gradients and anti-aliasing. I'm using PS 7.0 and what I want to do is use the custom shape tool, and fill the shape with a gradient. Not difficult, but here's where I get caught. After the shape is filled, I'd like the edges to remain anti-aliased.
For example, if I use the custom shape tool to create a hand print with anti-aliased edges, then use the magic want to select it. Next I grab my fore and back colors, choose a linear gradient and drag it in the appropriate direction. The selected shape is filled the way I want, but when I deselect, the edges have become pixelated. Is there a way to avoid this and keep them smooth? I tried using the blur tool and blur filter, but they don't quite have the same look.
I was using the custom shape tool (say I want to make a star) and in my other version of PS (7), it would automatically create a new shape layer, linked where you could click and change the color, etc.
When I try it in CS2 it draws the shape on the background directly. Now I am able to create a new layer, draw the shape and then fill it with a color to get the same result - but it was much easier the other way. I'm assuming it's just a setting (much like the changed linked layers setting)
I want to create a small custom set of extended uppercase characters for a company logo.
I am starting with H&FJ's Idle wild and then extending it even further. I'm initially squashing it vertically to 75%. This looks as bad as you'd imagine - the contrast of the letter forms is distorted (the horizontal lines look too thin compared to the vertical lines). However my earlier rough attempt to mimic the original contrast (ratio of width of vertical lines to horizontal lines is approximately 7:6) created something that I'm fairly happy with.
(Note that whilst I have now purchased Idle wild, I initially copied sample text from the H&FJ website and used Illustrator's trace function to create what is shown below, which explains the rather random bezier point placement. Incidentally I actually quite like some of the quirks this introduced to the letter forms - in particular the terminals of the S and the top of the A)
The word has only seven characters - ACHORST
Some of these (HT) are easy to fix manually. But in particular the round letters (COS) require a bit more thought.
I'm pretty sure back 15 years ago I could have got most of the way there quickly with CorelDRAW. From memory there was an option to use strokes ('outlines' in Corel terminology) which weren't uniform height and width. So in this instance I'd create a 'nib shape' for the stroke which was much taller than it was wide, and applying this to the letterforms would restore the contrast to roughly that of the original. (I know that typographers don't simply do something like this to create different weights of a typeface, but for my purposes I suspect it would get me most of the way there and then I could tweak it visually.)
The only wasy I can see to alter the stroke shape in Illustrator is via the Profile dropdown in the stroke dialog options, but this seems to be purely for 'artisitc' effect and entirely inappropriate for my purposes.
