I have a layer which is white with a clouds render but when I want to go the next step I cannot access the twirl tool or the zig zag tool. I notice this is the only filter I cannot access.why or what I should do to be able to access it for my project.

I'm working on a Wrap for my Van and designed the initial design concept at low resolution. Now I'm recreating the file at final output resolution and for some reason I cannot use the filter-distort option. Its greyed out, any suggestions as to why or how to fix it?

The 2nd person to reply, Terri Foster, said "maybe the map is buried too deep in your file structure" - she is absoultely right.
I spent 2 days reinstalling Photoshop (CS2) and trying to get the effect I wanted without the displacement filter. My file was buried 8 folders deep and I tend to use square brackets in folder names, too. Once I'd saved the map to the desktop instead,
I opened an existing psd file in Photoshop CS2.
It just consisted of a bottom layer and another layer with a fill.
I flattened the layers.
I then went to filter>distort>lens correction, because I wanted to introduce some lens distortion to the image - but the "lens correction" option was greyed out.
I tried doing this with another image and it was fine.
Filter Distort Luiqify max Brush size is to small. Must use Elements 9 instead. Can you fix it?

I have checked the preferences and turned on Enabled openGL Drawing. The Advanced settings can only be basic (others greyed). View 2 Replies View RelatedI replaced a standard hard drive with a new SSD drive and did a fresh install of Windows 7 and all of my programs. I made sure all Win 7 updates, program updates and drivers are current. The good news is Photoshop CS6 Extended loads much faster. The bad news is now Photoshop crashes when I attempt to use the Oil Paint filter. The only hardware change is the new SSD, I haven't changed any video devices and I never had any issues running the Oil Paint filter before I swapped out hard drives and did the software reinstallations. I've tried the OpenGL Drawing Mode in basic, normal and advanced, and still get crashes when attempting to use oil paint.

Per this screen shot, I am unable to view or access the filter gallery and I would very much like to. The history portion of the screen shot shows my workflow.
First I opened an image and then opened a Curves adjustment layer. Because I only wanted to change the luminosity values, I then changed the Blending Mode from Normal to "Luminosity". Then I made a minor Curves adjustment, followed by forming a new layer via copy of my original background layer.
At that time, I was unable to access the filter gallery. I therefore converted that layer I had just created into a smart object but, as the screen shot demonstrates, am still unable to access the filter gallery.
I am running CS6 on a Mac and I am working in Adobe RGB image mode, 16 bit.
I am using photoshop CS and im trying to use the Filter --> Render --> lighting effect but it is grayed out and I can't use it, as well as the lens flare effect.

View 6 Replies View RelatedA co-worker scanned a photo and emailed it to me to edit it and try to improve it, but everything I want to do is grayed out so I can't select it and I can't figure out why. Maybe it has to do with how she scanned it?
It's CMYK, 300 dpi, and 8 bit.
I'd like to sharpen it and adjust the hue/saturation, but they're grayed out.
why this is happening and how I can work around this so I can make the changes I need to make?

When i go to filters-decor i see both the Stencil chrome and Stencil carve options grayed out.
I of course made sure no alpha channel is present , and my picture is black and white ( jpg).

I am able to create radial filter in LR 5, then move it to the edge, then move it outside the photo. Then its center is not visible in workspace at all. How can I access it again?
Graduated filter works ok, its center is always inside the workspace.

Using Inventor 2012 latest SP
My Image tool icon is grayed out in Insert Panel of the IDW.
I created a sketch in the IDW & have no way to insert a graphic.I checked multiple files including a new file forma template & cannot get the Image icon to work, it's always grayed out.
Is there an option setting I need to change?
We really should have the ability to cut & paste into IDW's.
I cannot get the clone tool to work on my Photoshop CS5 Extended v 12.0 x 32, which is running on my work Lenovo laptop. I am using the tool correctly, it just no longer replaces any pixels with the clone stamp.

(I am only intererested in upgrading from CS3 for the ability to paint 3d models).
I searched Adobe's site extensively to see if the trial has "full" features or limitations, but it mentions neither.
I can import photos from Bridge and edit and run actions, but as soon as I hit the Type tool, photoshop shuts down. When I open it back up, it has reverted back to original format and no settings are saved, actions loaded, etc. This error also occurs when importing previously made .psd files.
