Sep 15, 2013I have a smart object, and, If I apply Control "J" Or Drag It to the New Layer Icon, It will Duplicate the Layer.And If I Go to Layer-Smart Objects- New Object Via Copy, It dose the same thing.What Is the Different between Control J, or Go to Layer- Smart Objects- New Smart Object Via Copy.

Jun 18, 2013If I drag an effect from the target circle of one object to anther in the layer's panel it replaces the effect along with all appearance. But I want just to add the effect. For example, a layer has a drop shadow and a path, round corners. I want to move the drop shadow from the layer to the path so that the path now has the round corners and the drop shadow. To do this I have to open the shadow effect of the layer wright down its parameters, then create a shadow effect for the path with the same parameters which is a lot of work.

Illustrator :: Copy Object With Clipping Mask To Photoshop
Jan 14, 2014I want to copy objects from illustrator to use in photoshop, but the eps file that i am working in has a clipping mask and when i attempt to copy objects in that file from illustrator 6 to photoshop 6, portions (in some cases) all of the object turns black or gray. I'm sure this is a simple noob error (hope my question is clear enough), and it's driving me nuts. I have searched for solutions using terms "clipping mask, black, copy, move, illustrator, photoshop, etc."

Something happened and now when I highlight then enter my command and press enter it un-highlights the object and prompts me to highlight the object again. May 30, 2013When I use the copy tool, not copy and paste, the object that I copy doesn't show up. I click on an object click the copy took then click in the location where I want the new object, nothing shows up. Then if I save the drawing, close and reopen it, the object will be show up in the new location. It sometimes happens with move and rotate. I'm using 2013 64 bit version on Windows 7.

Jul 23, 2013The goal is to copy a text object from one illustrator(CS6) document to another maintaining live type and having a graphic style applied from the appearance panel. When an effect like an arch is applied it is converting the text to outlines during the copy and paste, however a straight fill will not. The type of font (TrueType, OpenType, Postscript) does not seem to affect the problem.
Alternatively I have been able to take the desired appearance, create a graphic style from it, apply that to a path and transfer the graphic style to the new document via copy/paste, then apply it to live type on the new document. Obviously this is not ideal.
Illustrator :: How To Copy Bitmap Object Instead Of SVG Code
Sep 9, 2013I used to copy vectors from illustrator to softwares like Axure, with cmd+c and cmd+v. It worked pretty well until CC.
Illustrator CC only copies vectors as SVG objects. So when you're in Axure, it copies the SVG code and not the bitmap object !! I understand the need for such a thing in HTML (even if I doubt that it will be often used), but I didn't find any turnaround to be able to copy this vector inside Axure, which is, in my opinion, the biggest use of the copy feature from illustrator to any other software (like Word for example, which also copies the SVG code and not the bitmap object)....
Is there a way to copy the bitmap object instead of the SVG code ?

Nov 14, 2013If I am copying an object using snaps vertically down a wall a certain distance and come to a wall corner and then need to copy the object the same distance horizontally as I did vertically is there an easy way to enter this new direction? I keep thinking that I would just enter displacement and for X I should be able to use my mouse and snap/measure the old Y distance and then put Y,Z as 0. However, there is no option to get a relative distance in displacement. Is there something I am missing in the command?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Associative Copy Object Not Updating?
Nov 13, 2011The assembly in the attached files was working fine in 2011, then for some reason it stopped updating. So I opened and saved in 2012 and it still doesnt update.
Open the assembly, edit the extrusion in Copy Surface Master and change the distance to 500. You can see that the copied faces do not update in the other parts, but there are no error warnings.
I logged with my VAR and they said use derive instead and closed the ticket. Sure derive is another way but copy object with associativity should work so this is my way of bringing to autodesks attention.
