View 2 RepliesAll of the tutorials I've found address how to create a stroke from a path, but that stroke is not editable. What I'd like to do is create a vector shape that is only a stroke, not a closed shape.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to File > Save As an Adobe Photoshop CS6 PDF and then be able to open it and edit the text in Adobe Acrobat X. Whenever I attempt to edit the text it is a raster image and it doesnt matter what I do in the photoshop pdf settings.
I want to be able to do this so that the text is able to be searched by google / search engines when I make the PDF available online.
I'm looking for a source where I can purchase maps that i can edit in AutoCAD. We do a lot of work that requires Google Maps-like renderings and would liek to save the time we currently spend creating these maps manually.
View 3 Replies View RelatedCorel Draw 5 did this very nicely but it's obsolete and I can't load it onto this machine (HP all-in-one Pavilion desktop with Windows 8).
I am working with hand-drawn images but since I need to manipulate the outline/s with a 4 - 12 pixel tool, it would be great to just be editing nodes instead. Creating the image from scratch as a vector graphic would be a horrible large amount of work and is not feasible at this time.
Is there any way other than Corel Draw 5 to make the conversion from bitmap-type images to editable vector graphics, ie: editable nodes?
PS - I don't have $700 - $1000 to spend on software at this point but do have Photoshop Elements 11, Premiere 11 and Lightroom, plus GIMP and the usual. Where should I start?
Is it possible to add a stroke to a vector object, without a fill?
I know how to create a path and stroke it, but I was more wondering about a live vector object with a stroke with no fill.
I've created a rectangle and a shape with the bezier tool. I've tried to make the stroke thicker but can't. I've tried selecting the path/mask several ways and chosen different tools in the toolbox but no matter what I do, the Stroke option in the menu is greyed out.
is there a way to do this?
either edit the stroke afterwards - or even specify the width before drawing a path?
Layer effects are enabled for the affected layers and the layers show the stroke effect active on the shapes, in a colour and size that would be very visible.
Is there some other overall setting I may have accidentally triggered?
When you use the Photoshop CS6 new function stroke on the path of a vector shape, how can you convert the result in a vector shape ? Merging multiple vector shapes doesn't work. The strokes outlines are not vectorized in the new vector shape.
It's possible to convert in pixel and keep the stroke drawing, but no way to convert in vector. Illustrator has a similar function in order to vectorize the stroke.
I need to create a cover for a proposal document. The cover needs to be a template that can be reusable for multiple clients. The catch, however, is that the cover would need to be editable by users without access to photoshop. I would love to be able to create the document in photoshop and then save it as an editable pdf. If that is even possible, what programs would I need to be able to do this? I have Photoshop 5.5 and Illustrator 10. Would any of the acrobat products help me?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a flash animation, just shapes and tweening. I was wondering if there's a way to convert it to After Effects but keeping it editable (i.e. getting AE shapes and keyframes).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was any way to maintain stroke width (with antialiasing off) when importing/resampling vector files, like pdf. photoshop does this, i think.
i made a test case that shows the issue in the attached files. the PDF is a 1px-stroked square. when i try to rasterize it to 100dpi (or any dpi other than 72) using Gimp or any tool that relies on ghostscript for rasterization (imagemagick, mupdf, xpdf) i get a square with unevenly stroked edges. photoshop's algo maintains the stroke width in favor of maybe less optimal positioning.
is there any way to make Gimp or any other pdf->png rasterization tool (ghostscript included) prioritize stroke widths over positioning?

I'm having trouble trying to export my Corel files to editables PDF.
I know that after export them as PDF, I have to open them on Adobe Acrobat and then set my editable text on the file to save with the correct settings.
But the questions are:
1- Do I have to export, save or publish to PDF from Corel?
2- after that, having the file opened on my Acrobat: how do I do to create the editable fields?
3- supposing I have everything ready (the file is ready to be saved as an editable pdf file); how do I save it (the settings and everything. So my client will be able to se my text, click on it and edit it easily and with the option to modify the font/color and size of the text on PDF READER).
After performing a cut, how to create a polygon from resulting edges? Take a look at the this clip for details: [URL].......

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been working in AutoCAD for a number of years but up until now I have been working with already created tables and spreadsheets. I need to create a new one; however my boss is very against using Excel or the AutoCAD table and importing the information. What he would like to see is a screen that pops up with a number of lines of information that can be filled in. Then just creating a grid around it with lines. I feel like I have used something similar in the past but don’t know what it is called or how to create it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNeed help to create a colored border around a vector shape using the Pen tool in Photoshop CS3.
I went through the the Adobe help files.
I got my shape selected, I go to the "Paths Palette"
The "stroke path" button is not selectable.
I got no clue as to why its not selectable.
But it is selectable when I go in "Quick Mask Mode"
A simple editable mesh object, a piece of terrain, which has standard texture on it an no modifiers, just some UV's on channel 1.
Whenever I add "edit poly" modifier or convert it to editable poly, additional geometry will be created. Statistics show that only vertex count of the selected object goes up about 6x but no additional faces are generated. This not the case when check on a sub-object level, there are lot of additional faces created. I've never seen this happen, jumping between edit poly and edit mesh has been easy without any errors like this.
I've tried the same model with 2013 as well - same results. Also tried collapsing the object, removing uv-mapping, different materials, attaching the mesh to empty box, etc, garbage collection, exporting it to obj and importing - even then same thing happens.
Usually in the previous versions of maya I used the timewarp in conjunction to motiontrail for retiming my animations. In maya 2012 seems no longer work.
When I apply the motion trail to my object that has changed with timeWarp, the keyframes are displayed by Motiontrail as if there was the timewarp.
In the old motionTrail there was also a chance to see every single frame of animation with a number, not only keyframes.
Is there a way to make a custom vector brush smoothly meet at beginning and ending of the stroke, such as with a circle? I'm trying to create smooth circles with a brush and Wacom. I want a brush rather than a mathmatically perfect circle with a perfect stroke weight-thickness, but I don't like how the two beginning and ending join up. i like the slight variations of human imperfections one gets when using a vector brush, but there must be a way to make the joing points look more smooth, rather than an after-thought prgramming fault, right? Is it possible?
The image below shows my attempts to make as smooth a joint as possible, but it still looks too much like it wasn't meant-to-be.
I'm using Ai CS4, Mac OS10.8.4
Can I somehow smooth create editable motion trail curve? And why it is often that undo not working correctly, it is not updating in viewport and also if I left click and check show in and out tangent's they are not showing.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the trial version for my laptop (windows), and we use a Mac at school. Anyway, I have an assignment to do and it involves creating a 1 pt. black stroke around an image. I found where it says "stroke" but it is either grayed out at top under 'edit', or down on the right 'add a layer style' I hit stroke and nothing changed on my photo. I have looked at the Help menu and tried what they said and still the image won't change. Please help! This assignment is due tonight (I wasn't able to get Photoshop to unzip and open on my computer all weekend which is why it took this long).
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow to create a brush stroke with a point on both ends? It's fairy easy to create a stroke with a point on the front end using the Shape Dynamics, but how do I create a point on the tail end as well? I have a Wacom pen and even the sensitivity function on it can't get a point on both ends no matter how sensitive I draw a quick stroke.
The stroke on the right is the typical brush stroke I get when playing with the "shape dynamics" to get a point on my stroke. The stroke on the left is one I rendered to display how I'd like my strokes to look.
I want to create my own vector brushes and use them in Photoshop.. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've used Photoshop 5 for 14+ years now and was forced to switch to Photoshop Elements 11 when we installed new computers at work recently. It seems to be missing an important tool (for me) that I can't seem to find. I don't know the official name but I called it a "vector" tool. You could draw custom curved and straight lines between set points to create a unique shape. Does it exist or is there a newer way to do the same task?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat I'm trying to do is give the blue box a transparent stroke that will "cut through" the red boxes and show the background underneath, whatever that may be ...white, another color, or a photo.
I can easily achieve this when I give it a white stroke. It'll look like this:
When I change to a background color other than white or even a photo however, I end up with this problem:
How do I make it so that I have a transparent border (not white) around the blue box? Which effectively cuts a "transparent stroke" (space) between the parts where the blue and red boxes intersect?
