Jul 3, 2011I would like to change skin color in a picture, without disturbing the detail/features of the face.
for example, see attached picture.
I would like to change the dark skin face at left to a lighter color skin, something like the other persons. what are the steps i need to take with Paint.net to achieve this?

May 30, 2013how I can change the color of all layers at once to the same color easier then what I'm doing now?...I open the layer manager, select all layers, click on the color and edit it globally there. Then I exit out of the layer manager....is there a routine that would do it with way less steps?...I'd try and create one but I've tried in the past and always seem to screw it up... Jan 2, 2014I imported a photo into illustrator CC and I then live traced it and expanded it. When I select it the colour options are grey scale. I can change the option but if I click off the image the options go back to grey scale. The doc colour set up is cmyk. How do I get it to stay on a different option without having to keep switch it all the time?

Sep 9, 2011I'm working with 2 pictures of people. My goal is to replace the face-parts (lips, eyes etc.) with each other.
So person 1 will get the mouth of person 2, and backwards. pretty simple, as all I have to do is match the skin color, and from now - piece of cake. (I actually said piece of cake :P )
So, what I normally use are only 2 tools: Hue/Saturation, and Color Balance.
Problem is - it's still pretty difficult to get perfect results. and beyond that, sometimes I just can't manage to get to even a normal solution. so it's very frustrating.
My question is: What are all the tools that are used to match colors?
(Until now, what I basically did is: take the slider, move left - check if better. if not: move right - check if better, if not: return to center. like this with each slider of the 2 tools I mentioned above. doesn't sound very professional, huh?)
P.S. A reference to even a bunch of tutorials and guides about coloring, would mean THE WORLD to me, as around 60% of my Photoshop are coloring and stuff like that.

Jul 24, 2012I'm trying to add a color cast to a grey, contoured button shape (defined by a vector mask), by overlaying it with an adjustment layer with a solid green fill and setting the blend mode to "multiply."
The shape layer has transparent pixels around the perimeter, so I would not expect a "multiply" operation to result in visible green there. But it does. That's no good. I need to export this image to a PNG with the transparency intact.
I can see that the green adjustment layer has a "Color Fill 1 Mask" channel, but copying the shape layer and pasting it into that mask channel doesn't seem to work. The display shows a very thin outline of the vector shape, but I can't appear to do anything with it.

Dec 5, 2011First, a slightly long winded explanation. Shooting the creative family Christmas card this year in a Mini-Cooper (original 60's one). Basically set my lighting up and then shot individual members in the car to post them together. The only snafu - my 20 month old son wasn't exactly cooperating, so the 'good' photograph I have of him is in the drivers seat, and I wanted to move him in between us.
There were a few difficulties here. First, the light changed between originally shooting my wife (windshield was clear), as skies were blue, and when I took the photo of myself nearly an hour later (cloudy skies cast a glare on the windshield. I had a black scrim set up to the side which worked, but wasn't able to knock it out all together. So i faded the clear windshield from my wife's side over to my side with the glare, but I feel that looks fairly natural (or at least good enough for the Christmas card).
The trick comes with my son - I cut him out from where he was at the drivers seat (had to do some shoddy work on his shirt where the steering wheel blocked him), and put him in between us. However, it looks like his coloring is off from what we are - and I can't quite seem to get it right. Color balance is definitely not my strong suit in PS.

Aug 21, 2013I recently had to get a new computer and reinstall Photoshop, I also did the update. Now when I use my color picker outside of Photoshop, it only pulls up a grey color, not the actual color I am sampling.
It works fine within the Photoshop document but now when sampling outside of it. Was this the update that messed up this functionality? Or is there a setting I need to set. All my preferences are the same from my old to my new computer.

Sep 9, 2008I'm creating images in Photoshop and printing to a Xerox solid ink printer. If I print in greyscale everything is fine, but if I have an image that has both color and B&W portions, the greys come out green (or brown depending on whether I print from CMYK or RGB). Is there any way to have a portion of an image in a color space and others in greyscale?
what I might try as far as the printer? If I print CMYK the greys come out really green but all the other colors are good. If I print RGB the greys come out browner (which is a little better), but other colors get muddy.
Is there any way to get a printer to stop trying to "interpret" greys as a color when in a color mode?

Feb 13, 2006I downloaded an action from Adobe web site and when I have my actions set to button mode, the button for this action is blue while the rest are all grey. I also noticed that the default frame action buttons are orange. Is there a way to color code these action buttons myself? It would be nice to catagorize them by colors.

Apr 18, 2013My black color slider is stuck as a multicolored gradient. The file was originally in RGB mode and I've seen it happen before but usually if I change my color mode to CMYK the black slider bar goes back to normal.
Any way to fix this with illustrator open? It doesn't go away unless I close and re-open illustrator. I don't think that it affects my output colors...
