Oct 17, 2008The brush tool loses the outline of the tool as the diameter gets larger. e.g. at 175px there is a fill outline of the tool. At 200px only a semi-circle is shown.

Feb 5, 2014I'm having a problem with the Blob Brush tool where I can't change the basic brush to something else. Whenever I pick a brush I want and I try draw with the Blob Brush tool, the brush I picked reverts back to the basic brush. Here are screenshots:
I pick a brush that I like first
But when I start drawing with the Blob Brush tool, it reverts back to the basic brush automatically
Am I doing something wrong or is the Blob Brush tool only capable of using the basic brush?
Illustrator :: Unable To Save Brush Created Shapes As DXF?
Dec 17, 2013I'm using Illustrator to creat shapes that can be exported as DXF files then taken into a program used in CNC plasma cutting of metal art. I'm able to do this with art work drawn with the pencil tool and blob brush. I also want to do this with the brush tools creating florishes and other shapes. I've been able to take a paint brush drawn line with width, rasterized it, and then image traced it to creat a line shape with handles which allow it to be adjusted however I've not been able to get rid of the selection box, it seems to need to be selected in order to work on the shape, and the drawn lines created when I image traced it seem to be double lines. Also I can't get rid of the box that is drawn when I select the lines so I can use the handles to manipulate the shape. Most important I've not be able to export shapes draw this way as a DXF file.

May 17, 2004How do you remove the border from the shapes tool? I draw a rounded edge rectangle with a gray foreground and black background and I can't see any options to keep the black from becoming a 1 pixel border around the image.
I even tried changing the BGcolor to the same gray and I still get a black outline.

May 12, 2004It might just be my coppy of Photoshop (7), but whenever I use the shape tool (round, rectangle etc) I always get a small fixed shape, and can't seem to draw the shape to the size I want. I can't do a free-transform after creating the shape, but I don't wanna do that as it alters the overall look.
Does anyone know what may be doing something wrong? Do I have to change a setting somewhere? Unlike the marquee tool, I m not able to select from a dropdown box for its constraints.

Dec 13, 2013I've used Photoshop 5 for 14+ years now and was forced to switch to Photoshop Elements 11 when we installed new computers at work recently. It seems to be missing an important tool (for me) that I can't seem to find. I don't know the official name but I called it a "vector" tool. You could draw custom curved and straight lines between set points to create a unique shape. Does it exist or is there a newer way to do the same task?

Jun 24, 2013When I try to select points in my vector shape (this one is selected), and I have other vector shape behind that one, I start dragging with Direct Selection Tool in order to select those two points, I got selected three points, two from first vector shape, and one more form shape that was behind and in the area where I was dragging selection. Also, now both vector shape become selected. Why is this happening if only one vector shape was selected?
I'm using Photoshop CC.

I haven't used Photoshop in a while, but I remember that you could hold CTRL (on PC) and click with the Pen Tool and it would straighten up your shape for you once the paths are connected and would like to do similar in GIMP but can't find out how.

Feb 1, 2010when working on illustrator my selection tools won't adjust shapes anymore. I can move shapes around but I cannot resize them or stretch them. If I have a rectangle shape on my screen selected, the hash marks that are normally in the middle are no longer there, also at the edges of the rectangle the selection tool doesn't change over to the rotate tool. My selection tool also has a small black square at the bottom right of it that I haven't noticed before. I have no clue how I got into this mode, preferably without resetting all of my preferences,

Mar 6, 2011One of the things I do a LOT is outline a circular object (in a photo) using the line/curve tool in a separate layer so that I can select the circular thing or everything else. Hope that made sense. Anyway, the thing is not exactly a circular and the line/curve tool works great but it would be nice to have a shape tool that would draw a circle that could be sized/positioned and slightly deformed using nibs (or nubs or whatever) similar to the line/curve tool.
Is there a way to do that with the built in shape tool? Or is there a plugin?

The Selection Brush Tool allows you to paint a selection free style without being bothered by the "Quick" feature that provides guesses about where you might want to select. I could not find the Selection Brush Tool in CS5. Is there one? The lasso is not as easy to use.

Mar 16, 2013Can I use the paint brush twice on the same area without having different scales of the same color? I would like to keep the paint brush smooth but the problem is that when the same area is painted twice, the color in such area darkens.
Is it possible to lock the paint brush to one stroke of paint? If an area is painted, is it possible to automatically skip that area when painting? In other words, is it possible to have the brush effect only once over a given particular area even if it is brushed over twice?
