I spend 12 hours a day in illustrator and some functionality seems to simplistic and ultimately annoying.I'm using Windows 7 64bit. Adobe Illustrator CS6
1. Please auto switch between Stroke fill and fill when I select text. 99% of my time is spent only using fill on text. I would rather manually switch to Stroke when I want to add a fill to it rather having to switch to fill each time.
2. Same for Stroke, from point 1.
3. Add an auto layer for Guides. When I am using the Scissors tool, the majority of the time I don't want to cut my guides up, I would rather instead cut up the shape below it. Again manually changing the layer to select the guide would be preferable.
4. I personally never use the Eraser tool and I switch to the Scissors Tool. Without fail every time I launch Illustrator I have to switch from the Eraser Tool too the Scissors tool. Please add cookies or something so I don't have to always switch to the Scissors Tool.
5. Move "Align to Pixel" toggle somewhere outside a file menu.
I have a template for name tags for an upcoming event. I am trying to input a series of pictures into them,. TIFF files if that matters, add the multiply channel, then fill up the page.
Once the 8 per sheet are filled up, to save, and fill up a second sheet, then continue until finished.
I have found how to edit my file info inside Ps, I have created an average file info, my name, my website, and other contact info, and i want to add these information to all of my future works description.
In this picture, there is an auto completion option, what does this mean? I want to these informations will be applyed automaticly whithout my intervention.
where I can find the "/" short line shaped brush so I can fill paths and draw curves. If I make one brush myself, the final result would be pretty coarse, and need anti-aliasing of some sort. The line drawn by my custom made brush just ain't that smooth.
Also, I wanna have my line in gold color with the metallic feeling, other than green line. You don't have to write detailed procedure, just tell me where should I look.
I use photoshop a fair amount, but only to edit photos. For work I need to be able to circle something in an image and I cannot figure out how to draw a thick, red circle around some text. How do you do it?
What would be the best approach to draw a mountain outline using a vector approach & fill, but be able to adjust the outline later via a vector approach? (i.e. outline shouldn't get rasterized)
So the approach would need to be able to: * create the outline & selection with a vector based approach * vector selection has to be effectively saved for later * modification later should support getting access to the original handles of the vector selection (say with Pen tool) and make adjustment * after adjustement of the vector area is made, the fill should automatically occur on the extended or contracted area
approach/which tools to use in CS6 to be able to do this?
I've just created a map with various county boundaries. I now need to fill in the counties with various shades of gray, with no two neighboring counties sharing the same shade. I've been going about it in a sort of trial and error fashion, but I can't ever seem to get it right. Is there a way that Photoshop could possibly fill it in for me? Sort of an auto-swatch application thing?
I use Coreldraw x3 for cutting vinyl to put on shirts and windows ect. I cut on 14" and 24" rolls of vinyl. To save vinyl I make a rectangle in corel at 14x25" or 24x25" and then I put the graphics in that rectangle as snug as I can to make sure I conserve as much vinyl as possible.
I am wondering if there is a way to select my rectangle and the art that I want to piece into it and have the program automatically fill up the space as sparingly as possible. This would save me a lot of time and it would probably be more efficient for saving vinyl because corel would know the optimal way to piece the art in.
In MS Paint when i select part of image with Polygon tool, this part is auto filled with background color. In GIMP i have to use first Selection tool (Free Select) and than switch to Bucket Fill for filling selected area with color. How to make auto filling selected area with color in GIMP as it in MS Paint ?
I'd like to make it easier for our 100,000 designers to use AI to make custom products using a laser cutter.
Current Practice Designers open our AI laser cutting design templates, add their designs using the AI settings our online pricing system can read, then upload their designs to our website for instant pricing, making and shipping.
The Problem Designers have to manually setup AI with settings that can be read by our online pricing system. If they get these settings wrong, our system can not read their designs. So they are rejected and can not be priced or made. This happens more often that you'd imagine.
The Solution Designers do not like design rejections. So I'd like to eradicate them by providing our designers with a version of AI that provides the following settings only:
* Set document to RGB * Stroke weight = 0.01mm * Stroke colors = RGB 0, 0, 255 and 255, 0, 0 * Fill color = RGB 0, 0, 0
This will mean designers have a very limited number of AI choices, with nothing to distract them or to get wrong. Which will result in less (or zero?) design rejections. And products made faster than before. Rejoice!
Question How do we program our AI laser cutting design templates so that when they are opened in AI, they auto set AI settings as defined above?
When I draw a line in photoshop creates a blurry outline around the line that does not occur when I draw the line in Paint. How do I achieve the same solid line in Photoshop?
Fill Pixels Line Tool Weight : 1px Mode : Normal Opacity : 100% Anti-Aliased : No check Brush Color : Pink
Click on the canvas, hold SHIFT to force a straight line, move towards the bottom of the document, let go of the mouse button, it draws a line straight to my mouse's cursor! I have no other ideas what is causing this.
- I have two layers which I want to combine. The first layer is form by black lines (in my example are blurred, but this is not necessary) which each one act as a "way" that are to be filled with the second layer that is just a line textured.
Images attached, shows what I want to do automatically (in my example, I made the process manually, but I can't do it any longer because it takes too much time.
I am fairly new to Illustrator. I am trying to trace an image using the brush tool. I can get some lines in and for some reason the brush tool begins to revert to fill none effectively just making invisible lines. I have the parent image on its separate layer and the line art on another layer. Layers are unlocked. When I use the brush it will look as if it is deleting/erasing what is shown on both layers. The brush tool is effectively erasing what is there already instead of drawing.
I tried searching for a couple days now and the best I could find is this: [URL] ...
I tried everything mentioned in the thread and it still isn't working. In fact I think the OP in that thread never really solved his issue too. I can barely even get my line art down.
How to draw vertical lines at a chosen regular interval/period ? I want to have a vertical line every 4 mm.Without havind to drag and drop a new line from the previous one...
I need about 20 vertical lines spaced of x mm..At the end it should look like a table without the horizontal lines
I need to draw a thin white line across an image, infact several lines in different places. The lines need to be permanent. I want to key in the number of pixels for the the thickness of the line and if possible key in the position of the line. I know I can use a new grid line to position a grid line, but how do I then turn that grid line into a permanent line where I can decide the width and colour? I'm trying to refrain from the long way round of zooming up to 1600% and physically using the rectangular marquee tool then filling the rectangal with colour.
First off, I am in RGB mode, with Photoshop Elements 6. I am trying to fill in an area of the business center (the building on the left) in my drawing but it is going over both the door lines and the text on the building. With the student center (the building on the right), it does the same with any of the grey lines (but not the text). And this is all under one layer (They used to be made up of multiple layers but were merged into one). What should I do? Here is a picture of it down below:
I wrote some stand+alone application (WinForm=, where user can specify dimensions. Now after button click I want to switch form to current AutoCAD file and prompt user to specify point.
From this point I want to start drawing few lines. And I don't know how to switch to AutoCad and get current drawing space.
Drawing Parrallel lines from one elipse to another?
I am drawing pipe and beams.
I use a variety of methods. Right now I just SNAP to the elipse, draw the lines at the angles and then hit the other elipse. Sometimes though the lines jump all around the elipse.
I am trying to draw lines(orange colored) on this 3d object(crimson colored). Every time I go to select the lines to alter them I end up only being able to select the 3d object they are on. How do I turn off the selection of the 3d objects or anything on that layer?
Somehow i can't draw lines with different lineweight. I can change the color and the linetype but the lineweight doesn't. In the properties toolbar over the workspace the last option (after lineweight) is not active and shows bycolor!I suppose that is the problem why i can't draw lines with different lineweight!
How can I draw lines with numbers in autocad that represents sizes of other lines (I don't know how to call them on English) ? For example on this pic lines with numbers 50, 60, etc.
How do we draw three lines instead on one? As an architect, the exterior walls are 3-lines for brick construction. How can I draw with 3-lines instead of one in Aouto Cad 13 for Mac?
