Since CC 14.1 the Replace Color (Image/Adjustments/Replace Color) function always opens with 'Selection" selected. Is there any way to get the default selection to be 'Image'.
View 1 RepliesI've been using PS CS6 (Creative Cloud) on a Windows 7 workstation and have liked the feature that shows transform box when a layer or layers is selected. On my new Windows 8 workstation I'm getting PS CS6 x64 configured with my preferences. I'm not seeing the selection box unless I manually invoke "transform" (ctrl+t) on my selection. I haven't found a setting that enables the transform view by default.

The problem is that if one has defined a selected area in an image, using either selection by color or contiguous selection using the 'magic wand' facility, is possible to copy this selection to the Image Map facility of the image, so as to automatically define a set of coordinates as a polygon that can be used for link purposes? Perhaps there is some interim step that is required, or perhaps a special script is required?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing CS6. When I open a new file I get a small white canvas upon which to draw. This is 16.02cm x 11.99cm. These seem odd values to pick for a default. Is there a reason for it?
I wish to change this default size as I find it inconveniently small for my drawing work with the pen tool. Before I do this I'd feel better if I understood the thinking behind the original default dimensions.
I had to reload my CS software and have not been able to use CS3 as the default vile viewer. Now CS is loaded when using the "open" and CS only appears in the "open with list".
Obviously I would prefer all Photoshop programes (PS6, 7, etc) to be available, but will settle for the latest (CS3) to open my images. It would seem that because I reloaded CS the OS sees this as the default imagefile viewer. Have not been able to find an answer in the forum replies or FAQ's.
99% of my images end up at 6" X 4". now, for every image, i goto image-->image size and then insert the 6 X 4 numbers. is there a way to make 6 X 4 the default so that i don't have to do this each time i process an image?

View 4 Replies View RelatedBasically what I want to do is make a part of my image in the middle smaller without altering the rest of the image. I have tried to do this by selecting the part of the image I want to resize, and then changing the size of it.
The problem is that when I do this, I am left with all this white space in the area where the now smaller image no longer covers (I hope this makes sense). What I want is for the image surrounding my selection to "follow it" so to speak, and cover in where there is now white space.
Currently I import raw images to my desktop, view in Bridge, make adjustments in Raw then batch process within photoshop, into JPG's.
The jpg resolution is always 240 pixels/inch How can I manually change the default image size??
Where in my work flow should this be set? In Photoshop, Raw image converter or bridge? I am using CS 4.

On CS2, I cannot find the selection brush tool anywhere! could someone tell me where it is located. Or if there is a better tool that has "replaced it" and does the same thing?

I have about 1000 folders all that have a file inside called; sample.jpg. I need to resize each of them and I have to use the Save For Web option so that these files are as small as possible. Save As makes the images too big. My plan was to make an action and batch process the files. It's easy enough to open all the documents, within the root directory, that are called, sample.jpg, by using the finder search features, but what I can't seem to do is get the Save to Web option to recognize the image's source folder. If I create an action, I see that the location I used when I created the action, is hard coded, so all I'm able to do is overwrite the same file, over and over again.
I'm trying to see if there is a shortcut or way to save my images to the size I want on the SAVE FOR WEB feature
For faster downloads I like to shrink my images to to 800 X 600 - so once I'm done editing them I hit "Save for Web" and then input those figures manually.
Now is there a way to program my Save for Web command so the images are automatically resized to 800 X 600 ? This would save me one step and speed up my work.
I have searched but I did not find a "How to, . . . " I do not want Image Ready 2 to continue as a default viewer for all pictures (JPEG) on my pc. I have looked in the prference menu to no avail.

Maybe once a day, after using Photoshop for a while, the current document's colours will look like they're using the wrong colour space, usually looking more vivid and artificial. The only way out of the situation is to restart Photoshop.
Example 1: after editing an image in AdobeRGB, I flatten it and run an action to resize, sharpen, and convert to sRGB. Occasionally, the picture ends up looking psychedelic.
Example 2: after copying a selection in a flattened sRGB image, I create a new sRGB image and paste. Occasionally, the new image is clearly off, still similar hues but changed in tone and saturation; going back to the original window, there is visual corruption.
I've got an ATI HD5670 graphics card, and have gone through maybe 3 driver revisions while this problem has existed. It's too infrequent a problem to easily replicate, and what I usually do is save and earlier state as a PSD and reload Photoshop.
I just got Photoshop cs6, and I am probably at intermediate level in expertise. When I try to use the marquee tool, the lasso tool or the quick selection tool on an image, the image just goes black. I have to click back to "Open" on the History the get the actual image back. I have Windows 7 64 bit. I have never had this problem with other versions of Photoshop.
