99% of my images end up at 6" X 4". now, for every image, i goto image-->image size and then insert the 6 X 4 numbers. is there a way to make 6 X 4 the default so that i don't have to do this each time i process an image?
I'm trying to see if there is a shortcut or way to save my images to the size I want on the SAVE FOR WEB feature
For faster downloads I like to shrink my images to to 800 X 600 - so once I'm done editing them I hit "Save for Web" and then input those figures manually.
Now is there a way to program my Save for Web command so the images are automatically resized to 800 X 600 ? This would save me one step and speed up my work.
I created a image (with blank background) with dimensions 640 x 480 (its my default working image).
I have copied photograph with dimensions 7300 x 4200 and pasted as new layer on the image (640 x 480). Obviously, the pasted photograph is bigger and it couldn't be showed totally. I am adjusting the size of the photograph manually, dragging and dropping its corner lots of time.
I tried to use "image => resize" / "image => canvas size". But it just act on my default image (640 x 480), not the photograph (even when its layer is selected).
So, is there any way of resize the photograph automatically to fit in the default image (640 x 480)?
I am in the habit of processing large numbers of jpeg images for use in slide shows. When I come to signing the images I almost always use size 14, sometimes size 12, for my name print. But the size that sets seems to vary, usually coming up as size 18 and forcing me to change down to 14 eah time before signing the image. How do I go about locking in size 14 as the automatic default?
How can I adjust size of default action frames they are very thin. I have tried double clicking on that part I think it is in the actions but can only adjust the drop shadows etc not the actual size of the frame ie like in the wooden frame.
I recently upgraded from CS6 to CC. When I open a psd file, it opens at 100%, but the window is small with scroll bars. I have plenty of screen real estate, so that's not the problem. I have looked everywhere and can't find how to make the default 100% showing the entire image.
When I drag a photo file to Photoshop, it opens in a size significantly smaller than the workspace. (This is especially true with vertical [portrait] photos.) Therefore, every time I open a photo (and I do this typically hundreds of times a day...), I have to drag the lower right corner way out to enlarge the frame, and then I have to scroll the mouse wheel to make the picture expand to (approximately) fill the frame. Only then can I see it well enough to make the required ajustments to the file. Isn't there a way to tell Photoshop how large I want the photos to appear in the workspace, so it opens every new photo file to the same size? I am using Photoshop CS (not CS2 or CS3).
I have a very small document (image) I want to use the Liquify filter on but its goes so small while in the Liquify edit window It is really tough to get to what I need to see,My question is ,Is there away to increase the edit or preview window size or is it locked to default?
I am trying to create some images in PS2 that have to be 3.5 to 4.0 mb. When viewing the Image Size screen, I might see an image size of 9.6 mb. However, when I save the image and run my mouse over the image in Bridge, it shows a size between 2 to 3 mb. I can't figure out why this discrepancy, or what math I need to do in order to figure out how to create the required image size other than by trial and error.
I have CS5.1 on a Macbook Pro.I have an incredibly frustrating problem.   I've seen similar questions, but not an answer that has resolved this for me. I have an image I have sized to fit an 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Canvas and image size all indicate my image is sized at 7.33 x 11 inches. It is at 300 dpi. Print size view indicates full space is utilized on either side….BUT…  When I go to print, I click "scale to fit media" (which is an 8.5 x 11 paper sitting in printer) image prints smaller with a bar on one side. . When I uncheck STFM, I get: scale - 92.67%,
I have a created a new PSD that is 8 1/2 x 11.The canvas size is the same 8 1/2 x 11.I want to put a border around the picture (say 1/2 of an inch all around), and put the finished picture in a Picture frame. After it is in the frame, you would be able to see the entire picture plus the border. Q. Should I change (reduce image size) of the PSD to (for this example), 8 x 10 1/2.     Then increase the canvas size to 8 1/2 x 11. After I increased the canvas size, do a Paint Bucket fill with white (to create the White border)? then print the changed size PSD on 8 1/2 x 11 paper so that it will fit into a 8 1/2 x 11 picture frame I realize I could have just created the new PSD to be 8 x 10 1/2 in the first place.
When I save a file to jpeg the image size in photoshop remains the same as it was as a tiff file BUT according to the information that comes up in windows properties the file is much smaller (300k vs 2.9mg).  Can you advise me which is the correct file size?  If the correct size is the one showing in windows (300K) does mean that the file compressed in JPG and lost a lot of information?
and if this is the case how can I prevent that from happening and still save the file as a JPG?  [ I would like the image to remain the size photoshop shows it to be] . Thank you very much.
Each time I open a new image in ACR and then open image the editing screen reverts to QUICK mode and a smaller screen size. I then have to click to change it to EXPERT mode and then click to make it full screen. I never had this problem with PSE 10.  (I am bringing RAW images in from outside and not via Organiser.)  Is there a way to set these defaults?
why 25.5 by 33 inches has become the default page size in Draw? It's set at letter but the ruler shows otherwise and the snapping function is totally gone.
This happened yesterday as I was creating a custom document- I wound up uninstalling the whole suite and reinstalling today and within half an hour it happened. (after editing a bitmap from within Draw).
i recently upgraded from 2006 to 2008, and am having a strange problem. when i open anything such as the xref manager or quick select window, i resize the window and the next time i open it, back to the default size and position.
Is there a way to set what the default page size when you start XP&GD 2013? It always starts with a page size of A4 which I never use. I have a custom template that I would like to set as the default page size.
I've only used it for a few months and yes i LOVE it i even use it for assessments. but is there a way to set the a4 canvas size to my default because it really bugs me that i need to change it when i realize my images are too big.
I have just switched to using Xara Photo and Graphic Designer 6 for my graphics design needs. Is there any way to create a default page size so that no matter when the program is opened it will always open up to that particular page size?
I am used to working and creating on a full "blank canvas" or pasteboard, rather than using page sizes that Xara seems to prefer. Every time I open the program I have to return to page options to re-set all of my workspace parameters and it gets frustrating after awhile.
For example, my preferred page settings are as follows: Page Size=A0 (which provides me all white space to work in); Outer Margin=0in [8in is always automatically pre-set by the program]; and I always choose Landscape, but the automatic pre-set is always Portrait.
There should be a way for the user to control how the workspace appears each time the program is opened, but how to make my page settings "once" and then have those settings be the default from there on out. It's just time consuming to go into Options every time I open the program and have to re-set everything all over again.
I see a "new printing UI" is scheduled for v4, so maybe this will be included in that anyway, but a quick request: it'd be great of PDN would honour the default paper size when printing. I currently need to change from Letter to A4 (which isn't even on the "most popular" list, so it needs a further click to choose "other" first), despite this being the default paper size for the printer selected.
Either using the default paper size of the selected printer, or failing that, remember the previously selected paper size in PDN would save a good amount of frustration for those of us in Europe where A4 is the usual paper size ;-)
Every new document seems to open with a default text size of 12 pt. (or 0.167 inches). I am a sign maker and my typical artboard size is often 120" x 120" or larger.
Is there a way to change the default text size so that new documents open with a text size of, say, 1 inch (or 3 inches, etc)?
