View 3 RepliesWhen saving images in CS6 I can see them as preview icons of the image in finder by itself, but if I open a file in photoshop to find an image, i only have titles and not the images. ALSO when I go to upload an image to blog or facebook, again I have no image icon of what is there, only a blank space and a file name. I HATE THIS as it makes it takes too much time to figure out where the picture is. I am a graphic artist and a painter and I cannot work like this. Does not matter what type of file.. tiff, png, jpg etc... there is no image to see when opening through photoshop or any upload situation. I am able to see the images from FINDER by itself or if I am placing them into MUSE or INDESIGN.
Why I cannot see them to load on blogger or facebook or to open them in photoshop.

The photos I edit through LR do not print the way they look in the develop module. I have calibrated my monitors and I am printing in photo mode on my Epson printer. The same printer produces accurate color for photos that have not been treated in LR. I am using the free trial version of LR.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust installed Lightroom 4, more than 60000 images were imported. Many of them were duplicates, triplets and so on. I want to have a clean, unincombured library. Should I delete the 60000 images and reinstall the images from my photo digital cards or use the slow process of "X" out the unwanted images? I would like to start improving my images vs removing the unwanted images.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a picture all set in Photoshop. It is a 3x4 photo. I want to duplicate it 6 times so I can print it out on one sheet of paper and then cut the 6 same pictures from that. I try to duplicate it and it just keeps opening up a new window within photoshop.
How can I get the 6 photos all on one sheet and lay them out - 3 across and 3 on the bottom? I do not necessarily want them right next to each other and want a little space between them if that is at all possible.
I have multiple duplicate photos in my Photoshop Element 10 catalog - I have run across the compare a photo tutorials but I have possiblely some 200+ photos that are duplicates. Any simpler way to remove duplicate photos?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of photos that are duplicates -- exact duplicates, with the same filename and date taken etc, but stored in different folders.
The Duplicate Photo Search function finds pictures that look the same.
Why isn't there a function that finds photos with the same filenames and date/time? That way you could easily delete the duplicates.
is there any way to delete duplicate photos in batches rather than individually?
Also, I have not been able to register my product (I purchased it about a week ago. There is no serial number on the box or on the envelope the disc came in nor is it on the disc itself. I've tried contacting support but when I click on the link that tells me there is an agent available, nothing happens.
How can I remove multiple duplicate photos from Elements 6 catalogue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a large collection of illustrations (in the thousands) and I often find duplicates within the collection, which I have to tediously identify one at a time.
I'm interested in a deduping application that will not only identify duplicates, but also be able to find similar illustrations with slight variations (that have been altered using photoshop). The collection is entirely comprised of photoshop tiff files.
I have just finished putting very many weeks work into Photoshopping a scanned image and now I want to print it with multiple duplicate unaltered images per A4 sheet.
The image is 15cm x 7.3cm, so theoretically I should be able to print 4 of these on an A4 page no problem. However, the solution to how to do this simply and without altering the original image at all complete alludes me. I have tried using google to find a solution and have tried the File -> Automate -> Picture Package option, but besides being overly complicated this also seems to alter the dimensions of your original image. I have also heard about a "long way" of doing things, which involves creating a new A4 sized image and duplicating your image manually 4 times on this page sized image - however I am also quite stumped as to how I should do this without losing any detail of the original image.
I have been using many versions of photoshop elements and edited many of my files. So, now I have very many duplicates, near duplicates, and versions of the same photo. I think I have over 20,000 photos and they are taking up too much space. I tried using a duplicate file remover and it removed several thousand, but I still see many duplicates when I run photoshop elements 11. I am tempted to not use the organizer any more and just rely on a folder browser.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLightroom creates new duplicate folders when I import photos.
My directory structure is:
~/Pictures
/Lightroom
/2012
/2012-1
/2012-2
etc.
/2013
/2013-1
/2013-2
etc.
When I import, Lightroom creates a duplicate "Lightroom" folder, which it places into the 2013 folder. Inside that folder it places a duplicate 2013-12 folder and inside that the photos.
Alternatively, it sometimes places the new folder (this time named "lightroom" [lower-case "l"] at the same directory level as the "Lightroom" folder.
I use Lightroom 3 and recently it has started making multiple duplicates of recent imported (and exported) photos without me doing anything.... what happens is I import a batch of photos, make adjustments to them, export them... close lightroom.
Then when I reopen lightroom, the previous imported set of photos have all been duplicated and sometimes there is more than one copy of each photo.
Is there anything I can do to stop this? I'm pretty sure I didn't change any settings to make this happen.
How do I retrieve my photos from the discontinued photoshop program?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm on XP and want a simple program for cleaning up and storing old photos.
View 4 Replies View Related I have two machines running LR3, a mac laptop and a windoze desktop. Both are using local disk and a central NAS. All files use sidecar (XMP) files.
Frequently I'll copy my pictures directory over to the NAS to back it up or, if I'm upgrading the big windoze box, I'll copy it's images over to the NAS in a different directory. I've also been known to prune the local folders since I know they're backed up and because I need the space for a project. This creates a situation where one folder on the NAS may have duplicate subfolders (say "2008 May") same as the notebook but may also have folders (say "2008 November") that don't exist on the notebook.
I could live happily with this mess except that now I want to make one big master catalog of ALL the images on the NAS, minus the duplicates. In other words, I want to clean stuff up.
If I just import the photos (as opposed to the catalog) I get the duplicates removed but then I lose all the collection sets and previews. If I import the catalogs then I get the collections and previews but I also get duplicates.
What I want is either a tool, or a means in LR3 to eliminate (or merge) the duplicates.
It could be an external file utility that compares two directories and eliminates the duplicates (followed by a LR3 catalog cleanup of missing files) or a way to import the catalogs, remove the duplicate entries and then export as a single file structure.
My husband and I are "classic" adobe users of element 5.0. Has always worked great except recently can't save pictures... only comes up saying "can not complete your request because of a program error"
View 8 Replies View RelatedI tend to keep adding images to my memory card until it is nearly full. I then reformat the card for future use. I do this for a couple of reasons, firstly if any of my image or backup file fails, I've got the option of downloading the image from the card again. Secondly, I like to ensure that all the storage locations on the card are used equally, to even out "wear."
I download using a Sandisk 'Extreme' USB2 card reader. Opening the Lightroom Import dialog, I have the box marked "Don't import suspected duplicates" ticked. I'm downloading a card which has a lot of previously imported images, plus a number of new images. Previously, the suspected duplicate images have been greyed out and only the new images are highlighted and only the new images download.
Just recently, despite the "Don't import suspected duplicates" box still being ticked, none of the already downloaded images is greyed out and ALL the images will download. I haven't made any other changes to the program or preferences, so I'm a bit puzzled as to exactly what is going on. I now have clear the check box for ALL the images and then just select the new images for import.
I am using LR 4.4 with Windows Home Premium 64-bit.
