PSP X5 seems to have fewer default preset shapes than the previous versions.
I understand they are available for download from Corel. Where exactly can I find the preset shapes for download? I really miss some of the arrows, and would like to get them back...
Is it me, or is creating a Preset Shape weird in X5. Haven't made any for years, then attempted to make one in X5. It doesn't work (might be a severe senior moment), the is no sub-layer to name.
This is what the Layers Palette looks like when using a shape made in X2:
I've used every version of PSP since version 4 waaay back when and I'm now using X4. I do like it, however I still have preset shapes in .jsl format that I'd like to use in this new version.

For example, I opened a large arrow, changed its fill color, and followed the instructions to save it (using File > Export > Preset Shape) with the name My Yellow Arrow.
That appears in the small Presets window: But there's no sign of a big yellow arrow in the drop-down list:
(The program won't let me enlarge that window, or list the entries by name.)
Same with my empty circle, 'MyEmptyCircle#1'.
In Paintshop Pro X5 Is it possible to change the color of preset shape like arrows. Or is there another way to make arrows in different colors.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have lots of vector text objects to add to my graphics. When I add a vector text object by default "Stroke" is selected and the "Fill" color is set to the current background color selected in the Materials palette. Is there a way to change this so that by default "Stroke" is cleared and the fill color is always black regardless of the current background color selection?
View 2 Replies View RelatedPSP X3 is usually very stable but occasionally when I use the Preset Shape Tool to overlay an arrow onto my image, it freezes permanently. Waiting it out in the hope of self recovery doesn't work. I'm running X3 on a Windows 7 Ultimate Dell Studio 17 laptop, 32 bits, 4 GB RAM.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought PaintShop Pro X4 and love it. However when I make a preset shape and Export to shape it goes to C:UsersLynnDocumentsCorel PaintShop Pro14.0Preset Shapes
When I go to Custom Preset Shapes to test it, its not in there. I even copied it to other folders in psp.
Where can I find a preset shape of a ogee curve. It's sort of a slanted S. I've attached an image of one. Lacking a shape, how to draw one using PSP X5. I used autocad and converted the DWG to a JPG file.

View 10 Replies View RelatedToday, as I was fiddling around with PSPX5, I noticed that every time you create a rectangle/ellipse/pen tool lines/etc, a new layer is created.
Can I modify the current layer without having a new layer added?

When I try to load a set of shapes, brushes, styles, etc..there is nothing in the folders. If I look in the folders using Windows Explorer the files are there in the preset folders.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAs an ex Photoshop user, there is a facility missing from PDN (or at least I can't find it!)
In Photoshop there was a tool which allowed me to type in a width and a height and a unit of measurement, for instance, 6, 4 and inches which would give me a 6x4 ratio image. I could then drag a rectangle across my image, and the crop box would remain in the correct ratio, making for very easy cropping when preparing images to be printed.
Is there a similar way in PDN to achieve this?
I've done it before in earlier versions and I assume it's in the same place but where is the option to rotate a brush in CS6, I have to many layers to deal with transform after applying I know it's here somewhere?
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to paint a gradient into some shapes but after a few seconds of painting, the brush stops responding and i have to release it to let it make it's mark. As i'm painting a gradient, when i start painting again it covers it with a new version of the gradient instead of blending the 2 together which is clearly not the effect i'm after and not a result that is of any use.
Is there a way of getting all paint strokes to blend so i can fill the whole area with the gradient as there is no other way of filling this area with it.
Is there a Print Layout in X5 similar to that in Paint Shop Pro?

Specifically what I want to do is to create new font characters from existing ones by say, in the case of the letter "O," trimming the same amount from the outer and inner edge, ie reducing the width of the stroke. The new character would capable of being centrally placed over the existing one exposing the border of the existing one. Ideally, the tool would have a similar effect to the "offset" tool in Google's Sketchup

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?
I'd like to know how to make squirted water drops. I'll give them a solid fill; it's just how to create the shape that I'm after.
Here's a hand drawn image of what I mean: [URL]
One of the things I do a LOT is outline a circular object (in a photo) using the line/curve tool in a separate layer so that I can select the circular thing or everything else. Hope that made sense. Anyway, the thing is not exactly a circular and the line/curve tool works great but it would be nice to have a shape tool that would draw a circle that could be sized/positioned and slightly deformed using nibs (or nubs or whatever) similar to the line/curve tool.
Is there a way to do that with the built in shape tool? Or is there a plugin?
Is there a way to use some of the pre-loaded brushes from Paint in Draw?
My list of pre-loaded brushes in DRAW is much shorter than the list in Paint. I'm specifically hoping to be able to use this brush in my Artistic Media in DRAW. Or do I need to create a new brush in DRAW? I would prefer not to have to work in Paint at all.
I just need a spray can that just sprays dots in DRAW (instead of the clipart type images that are part of the default).
I would like to use a vector object made in AI as a custom shape to be used as a cookie cutter in elements.. I imported the AI file in photoshop but the "define custom shape" entry under "edit" was grayed out.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI drew something up on a sheet of paper, scanned it, then traced it's bitmap as line art. I then proceded to edit the vectors to recover all the detail I lost with the tracing. It took forever!
Now that I´m done, I realised there is a problem... how can I color in the drawing, if the lines themselves make up the shape? Essentially, I´m left with blank spaces in between all the lines instead of solid individual shapes that can be colored in.
What can I do? I´m so desperate I´m thinking of creating a gazillion individual shapes with the colors, and slapping them underneath the lines to "improv" a fill. But that will take waay too long, so is there an easier way?
If I could "invert" the shape I have now, so that the blank spaces become individual shapes, and the lines become blank spaces.
