View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm making some graphics in AP CS2, and finding myself using everything but the kitchen sink to accomplish this. I'm using the elliptical marquee tool (with shift) and after that the rectangular marquee tool to mark the rest, then inverse my selection and press delete to remove the corner, only after i copied the graphics to a transparent layer. See the example right upper corner here:

Let's say, for argument, I want a "square" with rounded corners. So I take the shape tool at 50px radius and draw my square. Right off the batt, the round parts look like utter junk.
What other technique could yield a better corner?
Also note that I can take the blur tool and blur the corners so they are somewhat nicer, but then if I put a shadow on the box, you can clearly see the shadow doing weird things on the blured part. Obviously, with all the beautiful PS images out there, smooth rounds are easily obtainable, not these wildly pixelated corners the shape tool gives me.
What can I do that can be as easy as the shape tool?
However I'm tired of having all my sites being so square... so how do I round the edges at the top & bottom header & footers. Here would be one simple example: ....

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from PS7 to CS and am having a problem. As far as I can recall, when I created a ellipse and filled it in PS7 it was crisp and sharp (like a vector).
However, if I do this in PS:CS when I deselect the shape, the edges of the circle are blatantly pixelated and rough. I am sure this is justa simple setting but I can't for the life of me find it.
The document type is RGB w 16-bit channels.
how can i get rid of these unwanted white spaces between two shapes in illustrator.İ spend my whole week to fix this, i tried everything but didn't work. İt's not something about antialiasing, when i import these shapes to photoshop or another programs, i'ts looking worse.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create shapes in photoshop but they all seem to have rough edges. Is there a way around this? 1. I have been using the "rectangular marquee tool" to draw a square. 2. Filling it in with a color 3. Then to Edit > Transform > Skew. Then I pull in show corners, push some out. Now the edges look horrible.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have Illustrator CS6 and I've noticed something odd. Whenever I create shapes they have jagged edges. I've attached a screenshot so you can see this. I'm wondering if it's a setting or something that I don't have turned on (or off).
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am working on a freelance logo and the client kept mentioning that my sample PDF's seem to have "smudge" on part of it, I never saw it and then I asked them to actually SEND me the file while I was not at my primary computer so I can look at it.
It seem that when you zoom in and out the shape changes and gets these random jagged edges. I don't see them on my computer or phone and my client only sees them on her desktops but it does also print out with these weird edges as well. I converted all type to lines and did an export to PDF to show her samples. The first image shows how it is supposed to look and how it did look when I first opened, the other 2 show what happens when it gets zoomed. And it changes too, it isn't the same jagged edges every-time.
I'm trying to generate random billowy shapes (like cartoon clouds or bushes) by simply creating a shape and applying a some kid of brush/pattern/style/script/whatever to it and getting a look like in the below links.
The look I'm trying to achieve is visually simple: [URL] ....
I can easily draw those kinds of things by hand, however I want to be able to generate such shapes randomly.
Is such a thing possible? Are there existing brushes/patterns/styles/scripts that can pull this off? So far my search has come up with nothing, unless I'm searching wrong.
Generally I'm aware of what brushes and patterns can do, but as far as I can tell they always generate the same results each time you use them.
Perhaps a script can be made to do this?
Essentially a cloud could be drawn as a bunch of random circles grouped together, then all of them get merged into one shape.
After changing my monitor i found that all shapes pixelated when rotated 45 degree

Attached is a free macro which allows the user to draw a vector shape and give it a feathered edge. The macro allows the user to adjust feathering and opacity and it came about as a result of the discussion in this thread:

Is there a way to extract the WHITE edges of this Editable Poly as Spline Shapes? Then I could use the Surface modifier to convert it to a Patch object.
I know there is a "Create Shape From Selection" button on in the Editable Poly dialog. But this gives me the ORANGE lines from the control cage, not the smooth lines on the subdivided object.
Every time I use the paint bucket on something, it always leaves a small grey outline on the edges. How to get rid of that?

Another problem I have is about creating rounded corners for an image. I used this tutorial

and it worked great the first few times, but than the area around the corners became white instead of being transparent. I followed the exact steps as in that tutorial but with no effect.
Example: it looks OK, but that's because of the white background of the page, move it to some place which is colored and the white areas appear. Also, is there another, easier way to create this rounded corners?

Attached there is a picture made through PhotoScape where big outline rectangle is rounded. I am trying to do similar one through PSP. Drawing I found some difficulties:
a) How to create a rounded rectangle? I tried to use “rectangle tool” but I couldn’t find adjust to make it “rounded”.
b) Considering the possibility to create a “rounded rectangle” and applying “shadow drop” on it, will the shadow appear “rounded” as well? Or is there something to do?
c) In some tests I made applying “shadow drop” on a normal rectangle (as a new layer) the only adjust I could make after that was on “shadow size” (dragging the mouse). I couldn’t find a way to access effect properties to readjust attributes as “opacity” or “blur”. How to come back to “shadow drop” configuration panel (attached) to readjust settings as opacity or blur?
