I've used every version of PSP since version 4 waaay back when and I'm now using X4. I do like it, however I still have preset shapes in .jsl format that I'd like to use in this new version.
PSP X5 seems to have fewer default preset shapes than the previous versions.
I understand they are available for download from Corel. Where exactly can I find the preset shapes for download? I really miss some of the arrows, and would like to get them back...
Is it me, or is creating a Preset Shape weird in X5. Haven't made any for years, then attempted to make one in X5. It doesn't work (might be a severe senior moment), the is no sub-layer to name.
This is what the Layers Palette looks like when using a shape made in X2:
For example, I opened a large arrow, changed its fill color, and followed the instructions to save it (using File > Export > Preset Shape) with the name My Yellow Arrow.
That appears in the small Presets window: But there's no sign of a big yellow arrow in the drop-down list:
(The program won't let me enlarge that window, or list the entries by name.)
I have lots of vector text objects to add to my graphics. When I add a vector text object by default "Stroke" is selected and the "Fill" color is set to the current background color selected in the Materials palette. Is there a way to change this so that by default "Stroke" is cleared and the fill color is always black regardless of the current background color selection?
PSP X3 is usually very stable but occasionally when I use the Preset Shape Tool to overlay an arrow onto my image, it freezes permanently. Waiting it out in the hope of self recovery doesn't work. I'm running X3 on a Windows 7 Ultimate Dell Studio 17 laptop, 32 bits, 4 GB RAM.
I just bought PaintShop Pro X4 and love it. However when I make a preset shape and Export to shape it goes to C:UsersLynnDocumentsCorel PaintShop Pro14.0Preset Shapes
When I go to Custom Preset Shapes to test it, its not in there. I even copied it to other folders in psp.
Where can I find a preset shape of a ogee curve. It's sort of a slanted S. I've attached an image of one. Lacking a shape, how to draw one using PSP X5. I used autocad and converted the DWG to a JPG file.
I would like to use a vector object made in AI as a custom shape to be used as a cookie cutter in elements.. I imported the AI file in photoshop but the "define custom shape" entry under "edit" was grayed out.
I am one of the people who found that PSP X6 has problems converting embedded color spaces.
After some difficulties I eventually got a case number which meant that I could get some support. I supplied a problem description and sample files to first level support. This is the reply that I received:
The file was saved as 16 bit TIFF with ProPhoto as the color space, this one is a big factor because PaintShop Pro (X5 or X6) has its own color space and is only supporting RGB color space. It is normal for PaintShop Pro to convert your image to sRGB because that is the embedded color space. Also, I suggest you to contact ProPhoto to know what do they support or if they support PaintShop Pro.
Color shifting is normal due to the color space that is being used by a specific program (i.e. PaintShop Pro). Colors that are not within the range of RGB color space will be determined as imaginary colors.
When I try to load a set of shapes, brushes, styles, etc..there is nothing in the folders. If I look in the folders using Windows Explorer the files are there in the preset folders.
A close family member of mine is dying and has still many RAW files, which of course look quite lifeless as all RAWs do. She asked me to look for a simple Lightroom preset, which will convert her RAWs into Jpgs with more contrast saturation and sharpening. No fancy effects, just simple. She has Lightroom 3, but has no experience in making presets and neither do I. She is too ill to work on her computer herself, but can instruct me how to use a preset. She needs the preset to make her RAWs available to her partner and children.
I'm currently working with some vectorial cartoonish drawings, and while it's mostly quite easy, I'm having problems with disconnected lines. At the end of a disconnected line it needs to gradually get thinner and end in a small, rounded off point. It needs to to become thinner much slower than the normal rounded-off point, kind of a sharpenned edge effect.
So far the only method I could manage is making a shape instead of a line, but it's much harder to work whenever I want to change something, since I have to rework node by node. So I was wondering if there was a way to convert a line into a shape, so I can modify it all I want as a line, and then turn it into a shape and add the sharpened end.
Any one know how to convert text into vector shapes in Pshop. I'd like to do this without interfacing with Illustrator, as that is what I do now. I'd like to take Illustrator out of the equation.
As an ex Photoshop user, there is a facility missing from PDN (or at least I can't find it!)
In Photoshop there was a tool which allowed me to type in a width and a height and a unit of measurement, for instance, 6, 4 and inches which would give me a 6x4 ratio image. I could then drag a rectangle across my image, and the crop box would remain in the correct ratio, making for very easy cropping when preparing images to be printed.
I've done it before in earlier versions and I assume it's in the same place but where is the option to rotate a brush in CS6, I have to many layers to deal with transform after applying I know it's here somewhere?
Just came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:
Why is there a 'lightroom video preset' under the preset tabs. yet when i open a video file in lightroom and go to the develop modue it says video is not supported in the develop module?
I installed PSP X4 today on a new PC with Windows 7 and noticed that it has no Animation Shop. Can I install Animation Shop to this machine? Will it work without PSP 9 or does it need certain dlls from PSP 9 ? I really want to be able to use Animation Shop again.
I have been using Paint.Net for a while now, but the one thing that I cannot seem to figure out how to do is give my squares and rectangles a rounded corners.
I'm trying to paint a gradient into some shapes but after a few seconds of painting, the brush stops responding and i have to release it to let it make it's mark. As i'm painting a gradient, when i start painting again it covers it with a new version of the gradient instead of blending the 2 together which is clearly not the effect i'm after and not a result that is of any use.
Is there a way of getting all paint strokes to blend so i can fill the whole area with the gradient as there is no other way of filling this area with it.
What tool(s) should I use to trim a shape parallel to its contour. Specifically what I want to do is to create new font characters from existing ones by say, in the case of the letter "O," trimming the same amount from the outer and inner edge, ie reducing the width of the stroke. The new character would capable of being centrally placed over the existing one exposing the border of the existing one. Ideally, the tool would have a similar effect to the "offset" tool in Google's Sketchup
