Paint.NET :: Taking Off White Cut Like Borders Around Image
Sep 18, 2013
I have a picture of a man that i deleted its background using the magic wand. I chose the background with the best tolerance that i can and push "delete" button. his deleted the background.
But when i put that man on another dark background, i can see a very thin white line around the man, like it was "cut" from another image (which is true...) how do i get rid of this white line around him?
I tried to focus and delete it manually but it is an endless work. I attached the image, do you see the white stripe around the man?

I have checked my settings from PSPx3 with PSPx4 and everything seems the same when using the paintbrush tool but yet every time no matter the hardness level of the brush i end up with a white border on my texture .. NOT visible inside the program itself but becomes visible once I apply the texture to avatar.

I create all of my lineart for illustrations, in Adobe Illustrator. I use the pen tool in combination with the line width tool to create line weight. Once I have completed all of the line work, I select everything and Expand. This results in not having fills for teh areas of the illustration which need to be colored.
From there, what I do is select everything > livepaint > make. I then fill in each area with a base color, using the live paint bucket tool. Once completed, I again select everything > expand. This leaves me fills that I can select indivually to apply gradients and work with directly.
This process works great until I expand the live paint group. After expanding, there is a very thin white border everywhere that two seperate colors meet. This only happens after expanding, it does not happen when it is still a live paint group. I have tried every option in the expand window, and get the same result.
I have exported the completed work in several formats ( .jpg, eps, .png ) and the lines are still there.

I have well over 100 old black and white negatives to scan for my wife so that she can put these old family photos in a scrapbook. She wants me to make these prints look like the old fashioned white-bordered with serrated edges. After scanning the negs and before saving them as jpeg files in photoshop...can someone please tell me an easy way to put 1/4" white borders around each print?

I am attempting to make some combined images to make jewelry for my family but when I cut out an image from one picture and paste into a new layer above a different background, my cut image has white surrounding it, even after I have gone into 1600 zoom and removed all traces of white. I think the cut image is clean then I tell the program to print preview and wow, serious white outline, how to get rid of it? It sure makes my final print really juvenile and cheezy. Using Paint.net v3.5.8. to cut out images. Using ms Word to resize, layer and group images although I seem to have the same issue using paint.net too.

I am trying to make an animation for a school project. It is a stickman animation, and I want to move a characters legs without deselecting him. However, I also want to save the image at the same time(to put in Movie Maker). Is there a plugin for this? Or do I have to go through the process of constantly redrawing stickman?

I'm, trying to make an animated gif from a png image. I managed to do it, but there's a small problem... when I convert the png to gif (to make the animated gif afterwards) the image gets a strange white border around the edges. I tried to play with the Dithering and Tansparency threshold, but to no avail.

I was simply wondering the best means in Paint.Net to use a black and white image and use it as the alpha channel of my image, with white being opaque and black being fully transparent. I looked through the plugins on the site and didn't see anything that seemed to resemble what I was after.

how to fade to transparency by myself I am left with a residue problem when saving to a different file format.
I took my square image and pasted as a layer. Behind this is a raster layer flood filled with black (As the image will be going onto a black t-shirt). I used a rounded rectangle selection tool to make a mask somewhere just inside the image borders. I then applied a Gaussian blur to the mask and it faded the edges of the image beautifully. I checked with the black background layer off and again it faded nicely into transparency.
Now my issue is that when I save it as a PNG file (with background set to transparency of course) and try to use it against various coloured backgrounds there seems to be a white glow around the edges where it is meant to fade out.

I want to print an image on a DVD with a white printable surface in PSPro x.I want to be able to gradually feather the white edge given to the image (what is the best way to do this) so that it blends into the white background of the disc and therefore the square edges of the image do not show.

I am using Photo Paint 9 to edit photos I took of some watercolors I did. Many of the photos are of a single animal on a white background (similar to the California state flag). When I printed many of these out they had a greenish tint (not a printer problem) so I went to Image--Adjust--Color Balance.... I adjusted the cursor on the Magenta/Green bar to -15 (towards Magenta) and hit ok. The problem is, now when I print, the image is ok but the background which I want to be pure white now has a pinkish (magenta?) tint to it.
Is there any way to isolate the image and get the background pure white again?

When I scan booklets that are printed on white glossy paper with black text, I like to scan it in black and white mode to produce the images as this save me considerable hard drive space. However, if there is a black and white picture of someone or something, I can't scan in black and white anymore, and have to scan in grayscale otherwise the pictures come out horrible. This does cause the image size to balloon considerably.
Is there anyway where I can scan a page that contains a black and white picture in grayscale, cut that picture out, rescan the picture in black and white mode, and then replace the cutout picture from the previous image into the new image?

I didn't realized that as I'm importing images, the 'background' was defaulting to white. I'm working a couple images right now, in which the transparent setting is really needed. I found where to change the default, but not how to change it for existing images in PS already.

I've been averaging about 10-15 seconds from clicking on a pic until the program opens and the pic is displayed. Today a .jpg (272KB) took 26 seconds from clicking the pic to PSP opening and displaying it.
I have everything disabled in startup and all non Microsoft services except Protexis unchecked.
PSP ProX4 was just purchased and installed last week and has the latest patch.

I am fairly new to PDN. I was wondering how to do a border similar to the attached picture. I'd like to use stars. I have tried to use custom mini brushes but, I don't want to paint over the picture, I want to cut out of it, like the attached picture. Is there a way to do this in PDN?
