GIMP :: Removing The Image White Corners
Jan 17, 2014I need to round the top corners of a simple gradient image to use as a header background for a custom web page using a border-radius: 1em.
For some reason I just cannot get rid of the white corners on the image. I used the same
steps given here to create the image with the rounded top corners:

1. Select -> Rounded Rectangle...
2. with Rounded Rectangle selected I used the regular Rectangle select tool to add "square" selection to the bottom of the Rounded Rectangle select.
This is the header background image:
Here is what it looks like on the page so far, as you can see, the radius on the image corners looks consistent with the border:
But if you look at this it appears the image corners themselves are still squared, the white voids are covering the border.
Edge Animate CC :: Cleanup - Removing Unused Image Files?
Mar 18, 2014I have used some image files as templates in my animation. There doesn't seem to be a way to remove the files without Edge squaking about those files missing. Even after I have removed all references to those files. What is the proper way to remove unwanted files completely from a Edge animate project? It was suggested that there is a right click, but this only shows you where the file is in the finder.
"File saved but Edge Animate encountered error(s): Failed to Copy Image: /Users/danjahson/Rain/Clients Work Folder/Nu Skin/Bespoke Moblie App/Intro & Reveal HTML Video/Bespoke_Intro/Bespoke_Intro_1/images/Intro_Template0012.jpg: No such file or directory"
This file is no longer in the animation - but it still asks for it. I cant seem to kill it.
I am on a mac with the latest version of Edge Animate (3.0.0.322.27519).

ALL I want to do is..
place a photo on a page and then give it a border..a 'transparent' border - aka..perhaps a softened edge / or one which looks like its 'merged' into the background. Im doing a dvd cover so ideally not wanting a ''photo simply stuck on page' look. A more subtle effect.
Easy enough ( with previous versions..Photoimpact 11 per say ) ..click on border..select a fancy design and hey-ho it appears...the effect of a photo with a blended feel into the background.
NOW - all i've managed to do on this program is, SELECT IMAGE>PICTURE FRAME> ( a choice appears) once click on..say..EDGE FUN 03..the effect ( of some flowers ) does appear..but alone with it a massive great white border...shrinking the image etc...ALL I WANT TO DO IS TO TURN THAT MASSIVE WHITE BORDER INTO..SAY.. ANOTHER COLOR. or perhaps just blend it into my original background.
I have set my original layer to ..transparent.. ( i think )...but have colored this purple.
( How the heck do you get the right-hand categories to appear in my main editing page. Having to go to EFFECTS>EFFECT EDGES..or whatever...to show a small thumbnail of an effect isnt great..much perfected Photo impact when you ran your mouse along the effects and by and large the effect changed on your original large image so you can see what the effect was better. )
Paint.NET :: Edge Detect When Recolouring From Black And White
Nov 11, 2012I have some black and white photos from my wedding and I want to add some colour to them. It looks like it will be too much effort to recolour the whole photo so I might settle for just colouring the waistcoats for a splash effect.
I have read lots of tutorials for Paint.NET and for GIMP [URL] Essentially I do the following:
Add a new layer
Use lasso to select the waistcoat
Use bucket fill with the purple colour
Select multiply for the layer.
This gives me the result I am looking for, but only in the region that I have selected.
Not surprising really, but something that I can't get right and that seems to be skipped over in all the tutorials is: how do I select the area correctly?
Unless I go down to a really high zoom and spend ages with the selection, I end up either not selecting everything or I end up with leakage into other parts of the clothes.
This tutorial [URL] for a paid for product seems to let you just roughly choose your selection then it uses some algorithm for edge detection to make the correct selection.
Is there anything in Paint.Net to choose the selection like this? I have tried the magic wand, but the since the picture is greyscale, it chooses random selections all over the image instead of just the waistcoat.
Paint.NET :: Make Icon Edge Transparent From White Background
Feb 2, 2011I'm trying to make the attached icons have a transparent background. Tried just selecting the white space but this causes the edges to look awful on dark backgrounds.
I've also tried the Grim Color Reaper but cannot find a setting that keeps the icon as it is, only making the edge semi transparent.

Mar 17, 2011I am attempting to make some combined images to make jewelry for my family but when I cut out an image from one picture and paste into a new layer above a different background, my cut image has white surrounding it, even after I have gone into 1600 zoom and removed all traces of white. I think the cut image is clean then I tell the program to print preview and wow, serious white outline, how to get rid of it? It sure makes my final print really juvenile and cheezy. Using Paint.net v3.5.8. to cut out images. Using ms Word to resize, layer and group images although I seem to have the same issue using paint.net too.

1. I am not able to do a somewhat basic task. I have an image on a seperate layer and I want to merge it, but I want the edges to be more softened.I used to use photoshop deluxe, it had a paint brush with a soft round tip that you could make hard edges softer. Its not like smudge, more like a softer eraser. Is there a way to do that?
2. Is there some way to make any image gradually more transparent either from one edge to another or from the center out? (Like the effect you get using gradient, but with a gradual opacity to an opaque object/image)
Paint.NET :: Taking Off White Cut Like Borders Around Image
Sep 18, 2013I have a picture of a man that i deleted its background using the magic wand. I chose the background with the best tolerance that i can and push "delete" button. his deleted the background.
But when i put that man on another dark background, i can see a very thin white line around the man, like it was "cut" from another image (which is true...) how do i get rid of this white line around him?
I tried to focus and delete it manually but it is an endless work. I attached the image, do you see the white stripe around the man?

Dec 12, 2012how to fade to transparency by myself I am left with a residue problem when saving to a different file format.
I took my square image and pasted as a layer. Behind this is a raster layer flood filled with black (As the image will be going onto a black t-shirt). I used a rounded rectangle selection tool to make a mask somewhere just inside the image borders. I then applied a Gaussian blur to the mask and it faded the edges of the image beautifully. I checked with the black background layer off and again it faded nicely into transparency.
Now my issue is that when I save it as a PNG file (with background set to transparency of course) and try to use it against various coloured backgrounds there seems to be a white glow around the edges where it is meant to fade out.

May 11, 2011I am using Photo Paint 9 to edit photos I took of some watercolors I did. Many of the photos are of a single animal on a white background (similar to the California state flag). When I printed many of these out they had a greenish tint (not a printer problem) so I went to Image--Adjust--Color Balance.... I adjusted the cursor on the Magenta/Green bar to -15 (towards Magenta) and hit ok. The problem is, now when I print, the image is ok but the background which I want to be pure white now has a pinkish (magenta?) tint to it.
Is there any way to isolate the image and get the background pure white again?
