Corel PHOTO-PAINT X6 :: Open / Save Transparent PNGs Without Loss Of Image Information?
Feb 28, 2013Till X3 Photo-Paint opened and saved transparent PNGs as a seperate image with attached mask.Example:I have an image and load a B/W mask into it.
When I save this as PNG and reload it in X3, Photo-Paint displays again exactly what I have just saved:
However when I open this same PNG in X6, the image and mask get merged into a single object:
It's in effect doing automatically a "create object from selection" function and discards then the background.Why? I can't work with the full background image anymore, because the transparent parts are missing, and the mask is also gone. Is there no way to open the full PNG, without any merging and deleting of masks, just the way X3 was doing it?Also, the only way to save a transparent PNG in X6 is to check "save only selected objects"? When I don't check this, but still check "transparency" in the PNG export dialogue, then the mask won't be saved nonetheless.

Paint.NET :: Nothing Will Open File (Multi-Layer JPG)?
May 5, 2013I spent 5 hours on a graphic for my children's book. Saved it, interestingly enough, in Paint.NET as a multi-layer .jpeg, which I thought was fantastic as it had never worked before. Ahhh, and it isn't working now. Now I can't open the file. I've tried Paint.NET, MS Paint, GIMP, MS Picture Manager, Windows Picture Viewer, and Windows Media Center. Maybe other programs.

Nov 1, 2012I tried searching the forums for "Transparent Grid" and "Transparent Hex", but I could not find anything.I would like to create an image which is a Transparent Grid or Hex which I could lay over other images, like maps for roleplaying games.
I tried to use the eraser tool to remove all the white space from the image "TransparentHexes.png" (see attached). It was long and labor intensive, but when I tried to copy the image and lay it over another image, it removed the transparent parts and made them white space again, completely covering the underlaying image.
Perhaps there is a way to use the "Paint Bucket" to replace white with transparent? And how do I lay a mostly transparent grid over another image?
Paint Shop Pro :: X3 File Open Crashes With Win7 64-bit?
Jul 14, 2010I have migrated to a new PC with Windows7 64-bit. I installed my copy of PSPP X3 and it works fine except for two issues. The File Open dialog always crashes the program when I use it although Drag&Drop and Recent Files work fine.
Another (related) issue is that I cannot use Customize Scripts either.

Jan 19, 2011I've just instaled PSPP x3 on a new computer (i5-2500k / 8GB / Intel mainboard / ATi HD5450 with 512MB / Win 7 Pro - 64-bit), followed by the 4 patches.
When I start PSPP everything appears OK. I dragged an image into the program and worked on it.
When I came to save it (using the floppy disk icon or File / Save) PSPP immediately went into the 'Not Responding' state. When I restarted it, the same thing happens, but also with file open icon and File / Open as well. Editing functionality seems unimpaired.
I followed the 'complete uninstall' process; CDS 2010 Clean-Up ver1.8.exe, folder cleanup and registry cleanup. I turned off User Account Control, rebooted, disabled my anti-virus, and then reinstalled. Exactly the same as before.
Paint Shop Pro :: Open CMYK File And Save It As PNG
Sep 17, 2010I want open a PSD-File (CMYK) and save it as PNG (RGB). The Problem is, that the colors are completely wrong (orange is brown and so on). I tried something with Colour Management and -Workspace but nothing solves the problem.
If i take a look with XN View the Colours looks good. Same problems with JPG in CMYK (MS Paint shows correct colors, PaintShop wrong).

Corel PHOTO-PAINT X6 :: File Resolution At Open
Aug 6, 2012No matter what resolution I save a jpeg at, they all seem to open at 480 dpi. I would like my jpegs to open at their native resolution. I have looked through the options and settings, but can't find the command to change this. (When I go to resample it always displays 480 dpi)

May 15, 2012I was wondering if there might be a way to add the option to save a selection to the disk? when i work i create many selections with complicated shapes and areas.
since i need to use them more then once i was wondering if a feature for saving only the selection can be implemented ? this would enable me to load the selections to new projects and use them there making the same "print" every time.(my work around for this is saving a B/W picture of the shape then uploading it every time i need it , then copy and paste to a new layer
in the new project then selecting the shape area then flatting the image with the selection and deleting the internal area or the invert ) its long but works.if you can add "File Open into a NEW layer", this would save the need for part of my work around. i would then just load the save to the new layer and use it directly :-)

I saw this the save/load selection feature the other day in a photoshop presentation and was shocked that it's real :-)So if such feature can be added to paint.net even in version 4.0 it would be great and time saving too.

I was able, in example, to paint over a stroke with the brush and don't worry about painting outside, you know... Now there is a feature in the "Mode" selector of the Brush toolbar to paint "behind" or to take effect only over the transparent areas, but... I want just the opposite! Nov 26, 2013Paint shop pro x3 Whoa am I out of date. But maybe there is still hope before I get X6. I am trying to make a background transparent so that when I insert it onto a presentations slide, the item, a Christmas tree, has no background other than what is the background of the slide. I used the background removal process, asked for 0 opacity on the background and still when I save, or paste, it is in a rectangular white box.
I'm missing something simple, I know it. But thats been my day.
How do I essentially make it a stand alone little thing with no background?

Dec 30, 2011I have 2 gif images. On image2 I have erased the background so as all you see is the checkerboerd.I want to place image2 (the visible part) on to image1.
I'm sure I have done all the correct procedures but the #2 image will show either a black or white background when pasted on to image 1.
These are the rules I followed. To make one image color transparent
1. Choose Image Palette Set Palette Transparency. If you are prompted to reduce the color depth and number of layers, click Yes to continue and then choose the options for decreasing color depth.
2. On the Set Palette Transparency dialog box, choose one of the following options:
• Set the transparency value to the current background color — makes the background color transparent
• Set the transparency value to a palette entry — specifies a color to be transparent. Click the color in the image, or click the color box to select from the current color picker. If you want to view the transparency, click Proof.
3. Click OK. The color is now transparent; however, it may still be displayed until you hide it.

Oct 29, 2012Is it possible to create a semi-transparent button such that when it is placed over a colored background, the button takes on the color? The button would have a bit of a 3-D raised effect so that it looks slightly rounded on its edges.
I'd like to get this functionality so that instead of creating several buttons all having different colors (could end up creating lots of them) I'd simply place the semi-transparent button over the colored area and change the area when needed. I'm thinking of using this with some HTML as follows:

Now all that I'd need to do is change "red" to "green" and I've got a green button all by using a single image.

Sep 27, 2012I am following the following tutorial:[URL]....... I create a new page in Paint .Net and select the gradient tool. Once i have the page with the gradient colors i've chosen, i select the Line tool and create a wavy line.
The issue im having is fading out this line. The tutorial states "and fade out the far end with a linear transparent gradient" I cant find this tool or not sure what action to take.
