View 1 RepliesI saved a file as a .tif and it saved as normal then I shut down Photoshop and then the PC. The next day when I try to open the file it doesn't open correctly it opens but the right hand side of the photo is on the left and the left hand side of the image is now on the right, its like its been cut in half and put back the wrong way.
It also didn't open with the layers only as a locked background. When I view the file in the icon it looks fine until I open it.
I can't open files saved in X4 in v9. I couldn't figure out the text tool in X4 & saved the file so I could finish in v9 but v9 says it is not a valid PSP file. This is very frustrating since I need to be able to use v9 until I learn X4. Second, I have 64 bit version of Thumbnail view installed but it still doesn't allow me to see all of my PSP files in Windows Thumbnail view.

X4 will open the older PSP files, but X3 TIF's show up as black rectangles in X4 workspace and won't open. I've uninstalled X3 already, but do not consider re-installing it as a solution. Previous versions of PSP have been backward compatible for me. If I open a RAW file, edit it and save as a TIF, it will open.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have migrated to a new PC with Windows7 64-bit. I installed my copy of PSPP X3 and it works fine except for two issues. The File Open dialog always crashes the program when I use it although Drag&Drop and Recent Files work fine.
Another (related) issue is that I cannot use Customize Scripts either.
I've just instaled PSPP x3 on a new computer (i5-2500k / 8GB / Intel mainboard / ATi HD5450 with 512MB / Win 7 Pro - 64-bit), followed by the 4 patches.
When I start PSPP everything appears OK. I dragged an image into the program and worked on it.
When I came to save it (using the floppy disk icon or File / Save) PSPP immediately went into the 'Not Responding' state. When I restarted it, the same thing happens, but also with file open icon and File / Open as well. Editing functionality seems unimpaired.
I followed the 'complete uninstall' process; CDS 2010 Clean-Up ver1.8.exe, folder cleanup and registry cleanup. I turned off User Account Control, rebooted, disabled my anti-virus, and then reinstalled. Exactly the same as before.
I want open a PSD-File (CMYK) and save it as PNG (RGB). The Problem is, that the colors are completely wrong (orange is brown and so on). I tried something with Colour Management and -Workspace but nothing solves the problem.
If i take a look with XN View the Colours looks good. Same problems with JPG in CMYK (MS Paint shows correct colors, PaintShop wrong).

My Corel ProX4 program will not open a pic with a .tif file extension. I received the pic from an iMac. I know the pic contains layers with names typed in to identify the individuals in the pic. How can I get Corel to open these pictures? I have Corel on a pc running windows 7 professional.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince I first upgraded from PSP X3, 5 months ago the eraser tool has worked great. But just in the last week I have been having problems with it not working correctly. It seems like it is faded and not erasing like it should. The hardness IS raised up to 100 but still no luck. The background eraser is working great, it is only the eraser tool that is acting up. Here is a screen capture of what it is doing.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSome of the images I have taken with my Olympus 7010 still camera, when opened up in PSPro X, are not showing correctly.A portion of the image is sectioned and the smaller part of the image has moved along horizontally, the effect being that for instance, a person's head is not on the body but further along the image. This only happens now and again but is annoying, the last time 2 out of 24 images were like this. They were loaded on to my pc via the camera's card,in a card reader.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWorking with layers in Paintshop Pro X6 instruction # eight says: To resize (the layer that I just placed on my background image) click on one of the corner nodes and drag outward. But no corners or nodes are showing for me to drag the layer to where I want to position it. It seems like a step is missing from the instructions.
So as it stands, I can get my layer onto the background image but I can't resize or reposition it at all.
PSP X4 does not save the last crop settings which I used. In older versions the program saved the last used settings (dimension of the crop frame in pixel) and this was a good thing. Now in version X4 this does not work anymore. Is there a setting to switch that on or is it a bug?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a workspace saved as Default.PSPWorkspace. Every time I start PSPX4 I have to select File > WorkSpace > Default.PSPWorkspace so that all the settings for Palettes and Toolbars are as I need them.
Is there any way to set a saved workspace to actually serve as the default without having to select it every time PSPX4 starts?
I wish to report a bug that has been present in x4 and x5 regardless of SP or updates installed. Due to this bug I use X3 as it was the last version that worked for me.
The bug is that several menu buttons on the Edit screen will not display correctly, it is as if the icon is corrupted. This happens with the free trial version as well as with a registered version with updates installed.
See the attached screen shot as it explains this much better.

When I save a picture it goes from 6mb to 700kb. Is this normal or do I need to do something different and does it effect the picture quality when printing?

In explorer folders view it shows but has a locked symbol in front of it.
Try to find it from another program and it does not show in folders.
But I have and EP3 and am using Olympus Viewer 2 to manipulate the RAW images, I then edit the TIFFs in PaintShopPro 4. I have also calibrated my Dell 2410 with SpyderPro4.
My challenge is that the image edited in OV2 looks very different when viewed in PSP 4. I think the issue is that OV 2 is embedding a color space of "sRGB IEC61966" not the profile I set up using Spyder (as shown in the information screen of the resulting TIFF). when I open PSP it then says it is converting the "sRGB IEC61966" color space to my Spyder profile.
I have set OV2 to use Color Management and to "embed profile when saved". The monitor profile selected is my Spyder profile. Is this a bug? Is there a setting I should use in PSP4? Or si the problem on OV2?
how to fade to transparency by myself I am left with a residue problem when saving to a different file format.
I took my square image and pasted as a layer. Behind this is a raster layer flood filled with black (As the image will be going onto a black t-shirt). I used a rounded rectangle selection tool to make a mask somewhere just inside the image borders. I then applied a Gaussian blur to the mask and it faded the edges of the image beautifully. I checked with the black background layer off and again it faded nicely into transparency.
Now my issue is that when I save it as a PNG file (with background set to transparency of course) and try to use it against various coloured backgrounds there seems to be a white glow around the edges where it is meant to fade out.
I think I've found a major issue with saving .PNG files that have partial transparency in PSPx4
Essentially any opacity isn't saved correctly, and is made far too transparent. So anything with partial transparency is saved incorrectly.
I first noticed this when I saved a file to PNG that had a drop shadow - and the shadow seemed to have not been saved. In fact it had but the transparency was now so much higher it was almost invisible. Looking closer, all partially transparent pixels are not saved correctly.
This issue isn't present on x2 and PSP 9 (two old versions I've got).
I've done a simple test. Create a new image, transparent background. Fill with a colour at 30% opacity. Save as PNG, save as PSPImage. Resulting PNG looks completely different to the PSP image.
See the below screenshot, and also the but saved as PNG in PSP 9 (to show this is fine).
I'm always saving to PNG and this makes PSPx4 useless to me I'm afraid. I've checked the save settings and it's the same as PSP9.
I worked for quite some time on a design in Photoshop CS, and I saved the file as: "End Of The World 1.0.psp"...
Now it says that it's an unknown file and I can't open it (because I wasn't thinking and put the "1.0" in the name). Is there ANY way that I can open this file in Photoshop? I really don't want to do the whole thing over again.
I don`t save my files after I`ve finished working with them . I named my project 15.05.08 and I didn`t check if everything was OK . A few minutes later I wanted to open it but to my big surprise there were no Photoshop file . There was only a thing that says it`s type is file but I can`t open it in Photoshop . When I try to open it it says " Couldn`t complete your request because it is not the right kind of document .
Is it possible to open it somehow?
PS auto updater pop-up. It asked me to update and install something about patch? I don't know what is was then I click "no" or "remind me later". After that everything stopped working. After I restart, everything works fine but PS.
I can open new file and save it. But when I try to open the "saved" one, the "open file" window came and gone so fast. Then the PS 's not responding. I have to close it through task manager.
I removed it and re-install it,
If I create an image in PS and save it to a JPG or PNG, it will not have that file be the current open file. I flatten the image and click to Save As, but when it saves, the image still has Untitled as the name in the program bar. What's the deal?? Granted, I haven't been using PS-CS3 for long, but in the previous versions, if an image is flattened and saved as a JPG, GIF, PNG, etc, it will then have that file open instead of the original PSD file.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running Photoshop 6. when i open some files that i have created in the past and make some changes to them, then press the save button. I get an error saying
"The file could not be saved because it is in use or was left open"
Photoshop then forces me to save it as another name.
when i try to delete the original file, I can not delete the file from my windows exploror. When i try to delete the file, it tells me that the file is in use and can not be deleted. I get this error even if i close all programs on my computer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded from PSE 7 to PSE 11.
Now I'm unable to open .tga files I created/saved in PSE 7.
I frequently save layouts I do in Photoshop as PDF's. Lately I very often will discover the text does not display correctly in the PDF. One or two lines of text will display as white with a thin black outline, rather than as the basic solid black I'd specified.
I work on a Windows 7 machine with the current version of PS. The text is on layers when I save the file to PDF (from PS), but I do not include the layers in the PDF, so they should be flattening down.
I noticed a few weeks ago when it was also doing this that I updated the program a day later and the PDF's were not exhibiting this issue. But, now it's starting again.
I've just reinstalled my window xp which I used it before, but as the result, I couldn't open my saved vsp file at Corel Videostudio pro( I used same software to edit my video), screen say:"file format is not valid" and error no. is 15055:1:1, also I couldn't import my video file of the project to the library, shows: unable to open the file , file not found and I couldn't see all my files' format(such as video, audio etc) in the smart packaged folder. BUT I can still import the video files which I have never used
