I made my first avatar for xats chatbox online using paint.net, it's beautiful and worked great, but my slides were moving too fast, i couldnt really see my letters...is there anyway to slow my slides down?Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI click and hold on a tool in Photoshop CS 6 on the Mac and it takes 2-3 seconds for the submenu to display. All my mouse settings are towards the fast end. Illustrator CS6 displays them much quicker and previous versions of PS weren't this slow to display the submenus. Can I speed up the submenu (alternative tool) display?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had PSP X5 since shortly after it came out. I rarely use it because it is very confusing after working in v9 for many years. I have finally decide I just need to jump in with both feet & do this. I have 2 questions.
My first is why is X5 so slow in opening up. I have never had any version of PSP to be so slow opening. The second is I make new customized tool bars that work for me & save the workspace, however when I open it up the new tool bars are there but not in the position I saved the.
my brush drawing slowly. I am retouching an 8x10" 300dpi 8 bit image and using a soft brush at 15% opacity. It could take 5 or 10 seconds for the brush to finish drawing a 6 inch long soft line. There is a delay and I cant do anything else till it finishes. I Have Photoshop CS4 running on Windows XP on a 3 gig machine... with 4 gigs of RAM. I am using 55% memory for the allocation with 20 histroy states and 4 for the cache. I have 1.6 Gigs of available memory and 37 gigs free in a separate scratch disk. I have a Radeon 9800 dual card with 125 megs onboard memory. Do I need to reset preferences because of something funny? My system seerms to be fast enough...but I may need a new video card possibly...I dont have GL2 enabled because its grayed out. My version of CS3 works fine.

how to make an avatar smaller that 16kb. When i go to cs2 and make a brand new file 60 x60 pixels it is allreay at 20 kb. Too large to post for an avatar. I know how to save with less quality but it still will not get any smaller.

I ended up using Photoshop 3.0.5 at 12kb

But the smallest (optimised) I can make it is 62K and the limit for avatars here is 10K.
Is it possible to "squash" it in some way? or is it as low as it can be?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the trial version of paintshop pro x4. It worked for a while but the opacity sliders were extremely slow to respond. I thought this was my main problem but now every time I open the program it takes me to the register screen. When I register the screen goes white and nothing happens. If I close it the whole program closes. I have three emails confirm me for registering so I don't know why the screen pops up anymore... I was very happy to have more 16bit capabilities.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAs part of my new year plans I'm busy sorting through shots I took last year on my Canon EOS 550D.
I took many shots in both JPEG and RAW format (same shot in each).
The JPEG images display and can be edited perfectly well in X3 but not the RAW files.
In the Organiser all shots (JPEG and RAW) look fine along the bottom strip.
But when I select a RAW file it displays momentarily in the main view as a slightly fuzzy image and then jumps to an elongated, vivid red & black image. Looking more closely X3 is cropping and NOT displaying three quarters of the right hand side of the shot. I just get a thin strip from the left hand side of the original shot.
A double click in Organiser takes me to the Camera RAW Lab where I get the same thin strip, red & black image.
I cannot seem to get the Help menu item to work at all. Every time I select Help -> Help Topics... I get a dialog box with the following error message: Web Works Help display fail! I've reinstalled PSP twice. And I downloaded the latest update.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am very inexperienced with Graphic Design, but have successfully done many "Cutouts" with my own pictures. I am using Corel Photo Paint X4, specifically the Cutout Lab.
Unfortunately, now that it is important to me, whenever I am finished, preview (which looks fine) and hit OK.......My image is gone. I can somewhat tell, that there is a white vague space where my new image should be, but that is all I get. I think I have now tried it about 20 different ways with the same results.
I have tried multiple times to no avail. Might I be importing my photo differently?Â
Have been running the trial version of Lightroom 3.6 for the past three weeks. I see that it cannot handle or display PNG format, of which I have over 11,000 images. PNG is my primary WORKING format for single layer images due to its lossless compression, support for EXIF data, and transparency later. Lightroom creates tens of thousands of tiny folders and catalog files that are difficult to defragment and greatly complicate my routine backups. I must comment that Adobe filters, especially Noise Reduction are really great but the lack of PNG support is a show stopper.
Also ran Lightroom Synchronize to add recent photos to the Canon folder and for some reason it changed the date stamp on over 3 GB of photos to the present day. When I went about a routine backup of the photos, the backup software wanted to completely overwright all the files with TODAYS date on the MyBook drive!! What? no way. So now I must RESTORE all these files BACK to the original date stamps. This is way over the top. Plus Lightroom is very slow to complete the Sync task, and might even take two passes.
In pre X4 releases, I could glance in the lower right of the program, hover my mouse over an image and it will tell me it's properites (color depth, size, etc...).
How can I turn this feature back on in X4?
With Paint.NET are there any methods/plugins that can make an image or text look like a bright LCD/LED display?

Together they take up too much real estate to be there just for looks .
I use PSP X3 for web image editing and am sometimes sent jpeg files which are in CMYK format. Unfortunately PSP does not display the colours in these files correctly. Yellow will display as brown, pale blue as turquoise and pink as purple for example.
If I open the same file in almost any other programme, including the humble "Paint", the colours display fine and my workaround up until now has been to open in another programme, copy the picture to the clip board and then paste it into PSP as a new image. The colours are then fine but it greatly increases my work time, especially when I have many images to process.
Surely there must be a way to get these images to display correctly. It has nothing to do with monitor or gamma adjustment otherwise they would display incorrectly in all other programmes also.
Maybe it is a bug or just something that Corel have overlooked. RGB jpegs display fine, the problem only occurs with CMYK images.
Is there a way to have the thumbnail display on the bottom of the Organizer screen use a vertical scroll bar on the far right instead of the horizontal scroll bar below? Or, can I enlarge the size of the thumbnail display area without enlarging the size of the thumbnails? (Which means, I suppose, being able to specify what size I want the thumbnails displayed.)
