Questions:
- How to I make the Cylinder transperant so I only see the label
- How do I get out of the 3D window so I can place my wrapped label on the photograph of the jar?
I can't work this out (I have previous experience with Cinema 4d and Modo) or find instructions/YouTube videos that make sense.
I've never worked with 3D effect before (not even in the earlier versions), until now when I finally need it. I've therefore searched the Internet and the Adobe Forums in order to get to know how to wrap a text/image around a glass bottle in Photoshop CS6. I've found several answers and tutorials, but none of them regards CS6 or they are simply too primitive, whereby the effect is too fake. But when I try follow the instructions in the explanations/tutorials I've found so far for earlier versions of Photoshop (especially regarding 3D effects), I can't find the right buttons, commands, etc. - I can't make it work. how to do wrap a text/image around a bottle/cylinder/object in Photoshop CS6?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to superimpose a label I made in Photoshop on an image of a glass bottle. I have to provide a front and rear view (so obviously the label will be reversed on the rear). The problem I'm having is with the back-side of the label. I'm trying to make it look like it's on the other side of the bottle and therefore require some kind of glass diffusion simulation.

I've figured out how to wrap a label around a cylinder using a 3D Photoshop layer but what I can't figure out is what ratio and size that label needs to be.
For example I have a cylinder and have loaded the texture from the Photoshop document into the Opacity section in the Properties tab but rather than it being in proportion with the cylinder it seems to stretch it. So have to edit the label document and squash the actual label, which I know is not the correct way of doing it.
I want to wrap a label (just letters) on a transparent capsule which is populated, inside, with instance objects of particles. The label has been photoshopped so that the letters are opaque and the background transparent. Using a Composite Material, with the glass material the Base material, I imported the label and thought it would just show the letters of the label on the capsule. What shows up is the label with a grey background. I can make this transparent by dialing down the opacity, but there must be a better way.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a number of textures of marble, stone, rock... much of which I use in construction projects within Second Life where I am a Builder.
I have a small project in the works to produce a stone structure; that has some text engraved into the stone. I have the text typed up in MS Word. But when I copy/paste that into Paint.net; there is no left/right/center alignment; and the text has no 'word wrap'... it just pastes it all as one single reeealllllly long single spaced line... like there is no bounding box to contain it. Further more, I am not sure how I could make it appear as though it were 'engraved' ...
Now I do know how to make/add Layers... I use Paint.net often to manipulate many of my existing Second Life textures that I buy from within Second Life, and upload onto my computer to 'tweak' them. Sometimes I'll add an alpha transparency layer of Spanish Moss to a Stone Wall, for example, then re-upload that back into SL.. and I now have a building with stone walls, and spanish moss hanging over the walls to give it more unique look.
I know I can create a "layer" of Text, that can then be added over a stone or marble texture image...But I can't figure out how to get that text to wrap or center, or appear engraved
How would I acquire these features, is there a plugin that does all this for text?
In lieu of a licensed copy of Photoshop, I use Paint.NET for my general design brainfarts. I've used it for a few years now and only now have found something I dislike - a lack of word/text wrapping functionality.
So I decided I'd pop in and even remembered my account details on the first go (woohoo! This never happens) and drop a request for this functionality, as much as I hate requesting things in general due to a patholo--moving on. My vision is thus:
Step 1. Enable Word Wrapping (a button up here, assumedly). This would ideally have a dropdown also allowing you to change whether it wraps on whitespace only or mid-word with a hyphen. Step 2. Make a selection. If there is no selection, it wraps to the image border. Step 3. Type. When the text hits the right (or left, for right-aligned text, or exceeds the width of the selection/image for center-aligned) it will wrap at the appropriate point. When out of vertical space the text would merely be cut off as it is now. Bonus points: Make center-aligned text centered relative to the selection. Justified text would also be possible when there are given bounds, but who even uses that? Sheesh.
As it is now, text is based only on an anchor point (and is rasterized only - no editable text is a bearable downside for the gigabyte of memory I save from what I last saw of Photoshop, but that's not saying I don't often want for it), having text based on selection bounds if a selection exists would be a very user-friendly way of making it all much more powerful. I know Paint.NET isn't a word processor but nicer text handling would be a big plus for those of us who use it for more design-oriented purposes. As noted, text being editable objects (I don't much like the 'text layer' thing, but I can't honestly think of a better way) would be cool too.
I was using the warp brush tool (Paint Shop Pro X4) and for a stupid manipulation the tool bar where I had the value related with the brush tool slipped away. Now I 'm not able to recover it and I cannot change the dimension of the brush of the warp brush tool. I don't know what to do and I'm in trouble. I have tried all the tool bars but it doesn't appear anymore. How can I change the dimension of the warp brush tool without that?

I suppose it could be gray scale, if need be as long as it looks clean and mostly b/w.
I'm trying to make a product label and am having trouble with what appears to be some limitations with the program. The Text feature does not allow me to highlight text and put only specific words in BOLD, what it does is it places everything in bold. It would also be nice if you could create a layer to come back and resize/reposition the text box later --By searching here it appears that that is in the works for the next version so that's good. This selective BOLD issue though - not cool, even MSPaint can do that. Adding the textbox outline would aso be a good.
I have not had good luck transferring over text from other programs.
I have made an ettiquette for a bottle. (just a square with some design on it)
What I want to do is to merge my design on a photo of a bottle ( Picture of the bottle is taken from the side).
Now the problem is that the natural perspective of a normal bottle is that it bulges a bit to the bottom and to the top (because of the circular forms)
So how can I bulge my label slightly to match perspective of the bottle? (not sideways, but the top/bottom of the label)
I have tried everything (i think) with the transformation tools in photoshop, but none of them can disort a picture from the center top and center bottom. Only from the sides and the corners..
I spoke to a photoshop guru about my problem but he could not get around the problem either. He advised me to take the whole project in to a 3d application, but I feel that if there was an easy way to do this in photoshop it would save me lots of time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working on some bottle concepts and I have a need to model standard plastic bottle threads. These threads are designated by a diameter in mm and how many threads are on the bottle. Example: 33-400 The 33 is the diameter and 400 refers to a single turn of the cap. Manufacturers like Aptar make bottle tops of various types to fit this spec. I happen to be looking at dispensing lids (think Heinz Ketchup bottle). While I've found specs for Major diameter, Minor diameter and TPI, I have found precious little that describes the thread shape itself. I've tried to reverse engineer a sample thread from... you guessed it.. a Heinz Ketchup bottle. I feel that my venier caliper and micrometer are not doing this effort justice.
Looking for DWG file or Inventor model of the thread profile?
I'm using the coil command to create the thread on the bottle neck. It works okay. An issue arises with the thread termination. The threads on the bottle itself "chamfer" into the bottle neck. While I don't think I can do this with the coil command itself, how to create the "lead-in" for the plastic thread.
How do you create a shadow effect like the one on the bottles in the attached pic? I have a different wine bottle I want to do it on .

View 1 Replies View RelatedC3D 2013. We have profile line labels, some of which get manually edited (for example, change the "<[Tangent grade(FP|P2|RN|AP|GC|UN|SD|OF)]>" to a static number such as 0.29%).
However, if you CTRL+Click and select one of these labels and change the style of that one label, then the manual edits are lost and the label reverts back to the default string.
Is there any way to turn this behavior off?
Is there a way to "Edit Label Text" in a Parcel area label? Similar to the way you can edit it in other styles.
