Each time I use the "save as" for a file (any extension) it's closed by default, replaced by the the saved file. Because I use a .pdn file as a base to create many .jpg files I would like the file I just "saved as" not to be close automatically. Otherwise I have to open it again via "recent files..."
View 16 RepliesI'm editing a lot of files for web publishing. These files need to be saved as PNG files but I would like to be able to quickly keep a copy of the PDN file so that I can quickly edit the files if needed since I can't save an image with layers to a PNG without flattening first.
Is there a plugin that allows me to quickly do this? Perhaps a checkbox on the Save As... dialog to automatically save a copy of the file as a PDN to a designated location? Having to manually save each file twice is quite tedious.
We’re using the “save as” function in Adobe Photoshop CS5, and it’s not automatically including the file extension at the end of the name because our file naming convention (M##.B##.F##) uses periods. This is an issue which was already discussed in the forum [URL] ..., but there didn’t appear to be a suggested fix.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up an action to save a batch of files I creating using the variables tool (as detailed in this video: [URL]), I'll go into the Actions window, and record myself saving the current file in .Ai format, and then stop recording. Seems pretty simple, but when I set that action to run a batch on my dataset it saves all the files without an extension. Am I missing another step where I set the file format that the action is supposed to save with? I'm confused. I've tried this using a few different file formats and they all come up the same.

if i need to rename or change anything in the iproperties of ipt, im doing it from the vault.my problem is that, when i change something in iproperties of an ipt thru vault, i have to open the idw to update it.
as most of the iproperties in ipt shows in the idw.
its easy to change the properties in vault. but its deleting its purpose if i have to each idw to make sure i have the updated idw.is there a code where i can open all idw and save the same file and checking to the vault automatically?
My Corel ProX4 program will not open a pic with a .tif file extension. I received the pic from an iMac. I know the pic contains layers with names typed in to identify the individuals in the pic. How can I get Corel to open these pictures? I have Corel on a pc running windows 7 professional.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn older versions of PSP, auto-save would automatically save a copy of the work in progress every X minutes (depending on what was set by the user) and overwriting the previous version, including the original if not working on a copy of it.
In PSPX4, auto-preserve added the functionality of saving a copy of the original to avoid overwriting it, but it also has autosave setting.
Questions :
- what does the autosave do except save the image when changing from Edit to Manage to Adjust?
- does autosave automatically save a copy (even if overwriting) of the work in progress?
- if so, where do we set how frequently a save should be?
Whenever I save out a TIFF file it automatically resizes the image down to 300 ppi. What setting is this so I can uncheck it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using PSE 12 as an external editor for Aperture. When I ask to use an external photo editor, Aperture creates a .tiff file in my Aperture folder, launches PSE 12 and tells it to edit that .tiff file. This all works great. When I am done editing in PSE 12, I ask it to save the file and it saves it back to the original Aperture folder with a .tif extension. I can instead say "save as" and then it suggests the file name with a .tif extension. When I correct the extension to .tiff it warns me that I'm going to overwrite the file (exactly what I want!). I say yes and then I find out that PSE did not overwrite the file, but wrote it as a .tif file anyway. I have to go to the folder, delete the .tiff file and rename the .tif file to .tiff and then everything is fine - but what a hassle.

But after I save the files back to the proper game folder & try to run the game I get an error stating :grass_weight.png' incorrect format. Must be 8bit single channel. With my main (non-administrator) account, the extension is there, but it's always in uppercase. I've tried to select the "Use lower-case" option, but it always comes in upper-case, and when I go back to the preferences, the "Use lower-case" option is unselected. In my administrator account, I can't even get the "Always use an extension" option to stay selected.

I am running into an issue trying to complete processing of some images. I have converted a Canon CR2 raw file to TIFF, then opened into PSP X4. Now I wish to save as a JPG file. I've flattened & converted to 8-bit RGB. When I go to save it pops up an error stating: "An error has occurred while trying to write to the file". I can save the TIFFs, I can save to PNG, PSP, BMP, and presumably everything else. All except JPG--which is of course what is required. I can create an image from scratch and save to JPG. I've tried simply copying the image and pasting to a new image, then saving with the same error. Same with opening the PSP image back up & trying to save as JPG. I am updated to the latest patch just released.

I've just instaled PSPP x3 on a new computer (i5-2500k / 8GB / Intel mainboard / ATi HD5450 with 512MB / Win 7 Pro - 64-bit), followed by the 4 patches.
When I start PSPP everything appears OK. I dragged an image into the program and worked on it.
When I came to save it (using the floppy disk icon or File / Save) PSPP immediately went into the 'Not Responding' state. When I restarted it, the same thing happens, but also with file open icon and File / Open as well. Editing functionality seems unimpaired.
I followed the 'complete uninstall' process; CDS 2010 Clean-Up ver1.8.exe, folder cleanup and registry cleanup. I turned off User Account Control, rebooted, disabled my anti-virus, and then reinstalled. Exactly the same as before.
I want open a PSD-File (CMYK) and save it as PNG (RGB). The Problem is, that the colors are completely wrong (orange is brown and so on). I tried something with Colour Management and -Workspace but nothing solves the problem.
If i take a look with XN View the Colours looks good. Same problems with JPG in CMYK (MS Paint shows correct colors, PaintShop wrong).
