View 3 RepliesEach time I use the "save as" for a file (any extension) it's closed by default, replaced by the the saved file. Because I use a .pdn file as a base to create many .jpg files I would like the file I just "saved as" not to be close automatically. Otherwise I have to open it again via "recent files..."
View 16 Replies View RelatedIt's been a few days now that when I try to save a picture (either with "save", "Save as", or "save copy"), I get the following message popping up:
"because of the limitations of the specified file format (and possibly the save options you've selected), the saved file will be limited to a merged image. Would you like to continue?"
I have hit ok to that and the software would save the picture, but when I checked the size of each picture I noticed a dramatic drop in size (from 6.5MB to roughly 1.3MB). Just for the record, the editing I did to these pictures was minimal, just a little rotation and a removal of maybe 2mm from each size.
First of all, is it normal to get this message?
And then, is such a drop in size normal?
it's pictures in JPEG taken from the camera and saved as JPEG.
When saving any file, Photoshop saves only the filename without the extension- i must manually add the extension in finder- nightmare! Chat sucks so here I am. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but it still doesn't work??

Seems pretty simple, but when I set that action to run a batch on my dataset it saves all the files without an extension. Am I missing another step where I set the file format that the action is supposed to save with? I'm confused. I've tried this using a few different file formats and they all come up the same.

I'm using PSE 9 on a new Mac Mini. I want to be able to save files with a lower-case extension by default. With my main (non-administrator) account, the extension is there, but it's always in uppercase. I've tried to select the "Use lower-case" option, but it always comes in upper-case, and when I go back to the preferences, the "Use lower-case" option is unselected. In my administrator account, I can't even get the "Always use an extension" option to stay selected.

Can I change the default to .jpg?
1. I did a clean reinstall of Windows 7 and then installed X6. Photo Paint works fine.
2. However, I don't see any CPT images in Windows Explorer. Just a Corel icon.
3. Uninstalled the Shell Extension. Then reinstalled first the 64 bit and then the 32 bit msi Shell Extensions from the DVD.
4. Windows still does not show CPT images.
I'm just working on a flyer for a party and I like how the picture looks like after clicking on the picture with the magic wand. Now the question if I can save that picture with that looking someway?
I could use the print button, yes but then I lose the quality of the pic.
I am testing PSP X6 (I have all versions since V7) and now I get wrong files with the PNG Optimization. This functions used to write files with the extension png but now it writes png files with the extension pspimage. If you try to open such a file you will get error messages.
PSP seems to be back with version X6 with again destroyed old functions. It seems so as if will not buy the update this time. With each new version I get new bugs in old functions.
I'm learning how to create extension (flex - extension builder) for Illustrator and how to make it communicate with a plugin.
The samples provided in the SDK detailed how to load /unload extension from a menu item from Illustrator, and how to add / remove EventListeners to make the magic happen.
to sum up, this is something like that:
1- click on the menu item
2- load extension
3- add listeners
4- do your stuff......
5- remove listeners
6- unload extension
Basically my plugin is a module/service which is in charge of dealing with / modifying artwork tree. It has no User Interface.
My extension will have a user of this service.
What I would like to do is to load my extension as soon as my plugin is loaded, and unload the extension when the plugin will be unloaded.
Or notify when extension is loaded or unloaded.
Is that possible and hw could I achieve that?
My Corel ProX4 program will not open a pic with a .tif file extension. I received the pic from an iMac. I know the pic contains layers with names typed in to identify the individuals in the pic. How can I get Corel to open these pictures? I have Corel on a pc running windows 7 professional.
View 2 Replies View Relatedyou could copy the layer from picture 1 to picture 2.
So you coud copy whole "effect-strings" much easier as before.
Is there a chance to implement this feature to P.net?
Recently I used PS 11 on 250 pictures without problems. Now I can't save a picture to a file. Also I cannot rename a file or picture as it just pings at me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using PSE 12 as an external editor for Aperture. When I ask to use an external photo editor, Aperture creates a .tiff file in my Aperture folder, launches PSE 12 and tells it to edit that .tiff file. This all works great. When I am done editing in PSE 12, I ask it to save the file and it saves it back to the original Aperture folder with a .tif extension. I can instead say "save as" and then it suggests the file name with a .tif extension. When I correct the extension to .tiff it warns me that I'm going to overwrite the file (exactly what I want!). I say yes and then I find out that PSE did not overwrite the file, but wrote it as a .tif file anyway. I have to go to the folder, delete the .tiff file and rename the .tif file to .tiff and then everything is fine - but what a hassle.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAND/OR a open tab recovery cache or way to extract the images that get lost during a crash of PDN.
Number two on my list behind your fantastic new layer functionality that I had been dreaming about for three years. I NEVER close PDN. The ONLY time it closes is once every week or two when the 20, 30, 50 tabs that I have open, finally overwhelm my system. I bounce back and forth so much that there is no way to continuously save them as I make changes cause it would jack up my workflow by taking up too much time.
No way around it, this is just how I work. It would be lovely if PDN was able to, similar to After Effects, popup an error box saying it was about to crash and did 'you" want to save the session. Especially, now, with 4, as while it is a super duper version upgrade, the crashes were daily, with me, and I couldn't keep losing that much data. Sophie's choice, for me. The old layer window or daily crashes.
While "Draw" of Coreldraw X5 is working well, Corel Photopaint X5 does not "Save", "Save as..." or "Export" files. It just does nothing, when I choose to save a file under "something.cpt". It works, as long as it is a JPG, but not as a CPT. I am working on a Win7, with CorelX5 in german. Support told me to reinstall.
