since i have some heavy scanning to do (i need to scan 300-500 pages from different books), scan button AND a shortcut to the scanner/scan menu. I searched for plugins, none found.
Could it be possible to add the "Get image from scanner or Camera" to the menu bar ? It would reduce clicking a great time for me (and surely many other people too).
Some scanners require that you install special software or drivers so that they can be accessed by programs that use WIA to scan with them. Paint.NET uses WIA, and not TWAIN, to acquire images from scanners and cameras.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to scan a picture using a LEXMARK Platinum Pro905 all-in-one printer with PSP X3 (v. 13.2.1.20). Lexmarx drivers are the latest available.
Please note I'm using a French version of PSP so I'll try to translate the titles, menus and messages in English. I'm going in File > Import > From a scanner or a camera (3rd option)
A pop-up windows is opening with settings for scanning. I'm able to modify every option if I want to. If I click on "Preview" (with a document in the scanner), I'm getting a preview of the document. Using the preview, I can select the area of the document I want to scan. So far so good.
When I click on the "Scan" button, the pop-up with the scan setting is disappearing (which is probably normal) but a pop-up error message is displayed right away :
The French says "Une erreur s'est produite lors de la lecture du fichier".
In English, it would probably translate by "An error occurred while reading the file". The only choice I have is to click "Ok".
I also tried with another scanner (HP Scanjet Q4010) with same result. Both (Lexmark + HP) are using an USB connection. In the past (few months ago), I was able to scan a document using this method with my HP scanner and PSP X2.
Is it possible to make another button on the DVD MENU other than the one that already exists?
Say that one will be PLAY and the second PLAY CHAPTERS.
i have a few scans of documents which are 20-30 years old. Some text on this documents is written on a typewriter. Now im trying to make this text to be more clear in relation to the background.
I tried to to this using Curves and Levels. The text is getting darker as i want it, but also the background changes which is what i dont want, because if i do this on a rectangular selection it is visible. Curves is quite ok, but it still changes the background to much in my opinion. Is there a way only to make the text more black without changing the background much? some seconds after beginning to work with PsCS6 the menu fields and the right mouse button fields are just white. what can I do? I restartet PS, also the computer... until today it worked without any problems...

View 3 Replies View Relateduser of Corel Videostudio pro x5 and gradually getting to grips with the functionality, however I have come to a dead end on one issue. I have edited a video ready for sharing and have gone to create a disc with a menu. I did not want any of the existing menu template so managed to create my own using a photograph as background and adding text I have managed to edit the text to change font etc but when it comes to the navigation buttons I cannot seem to be able to edit the properties. When using customise I can choose the different styles of button but cannot change the colour of the buttons to suit my template colour scheme. For some reason whenever I run a preview the play button always turns out to be pale blue colour. Currently on the create disc function I am selecting DVD for testing purposes instead of burning expensive Blue Ray discs however when finished I will want to burn blue ray discs.

Please close one or more documents or applications and try again. If this does not correct problem, you can try adjusting the memeory setting in Windows or you can work on a smaller version of the document."
I have already:
- rebooted to have a "fresh" copy of Windows 7
- increased the virtual memory from 6GB to 9GB
- decreased the scan to 100dpi (from the standard 200 dpi)
- tried a different HP8600
- had the HP8600 scan and push the image to the computer (works, but just an average image)
- searched the forum
- read the PSPX5 bug thread
I have an inactive snap shortcut menu. When clicking shift + right mouse button the menu appears but when I typet
"E" for "ENDpoint", "M" for "Midpoint" or when I just click over the respective icons in the menu nothing really happens and I get the following message in the command bar:
"Command: _endp Unknown command "ENDP". Press F1 for help."
or
"Command: _mid Unknown command "MID". Press F1 for help."
I tried following, none of which worked:
1. resetting the main customization file ACA_Global.cuix
2. switching between different profiles and cuix files
3. reinstalling Autocad Architecture 2013
4. uninstalling and Installing Autocad Architecture 2013 service pack 1
5. installing older versions of Autocad (2008 and Architecture 2012)
6. reinstalling Windows 7 and installing Autocad Architecture 2013 again
One of the most common operations I perform in pixel editors is to add a drop-shadow to icon images. I found the Drop Shadow plugin and am happy with the results it produces, but it reverts to default settings every time I start it. There doesn't appear to be a preset editor for it. I also found the ScriptLab plugin and I have successfully made a script with the proper settings. However running this script involves far too many steps on my part.
Is there a way I can add a button to the main Paint.NET gui which runs the drop-shadow filter with the appropriate settings? Ideally it would even subsequently save the png file using 32-bit pixel depth and close the image.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using Pro X3 in full editor. When using Presets, if I select a preset such as an arrow from the drop down menu, the drop down menu seems to cover the Apply button. I can place a preset in my image but I cannot find the apply button while working from the Preset sub menu. The object retains the edit frame until I close the image, then I am asked if I want to APPLY before saving.

Is it possible to create a semi-transparent button such that when it is placed over a colored background, the button takes on the color? The button would have a bit of a 3-D raised effect so that it looks slightly rounded on its edges.
I'd like to get this functionality so that instead of creating several buttons all having different colors (could end up creating lots of them) I'd simply place the semi-transparent button over the colored area and change the area when needed. I'm thinking of using this with some HTML as follows:

Now all that I'd need to do is change "red" to "green" and I've got a green button all by using a single image.
I have just installed paint.net as a first time user on Win 7. I inserted a .jpg file which I wanted to crop, but the crop button is greyed out. Also is there a way to search for multiple words in the search box? I tride a word + word but did not work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed PSP X5 Ultimate (full install). After it completed it installed an update. All appeared to go fine. I opened the program and went to EDIT. I am familiar with PSP as I have used a number versions up to X2. The first thing I tried to do was crop a photo. The crop tool buttons are not correct. The "Apply", "Crop as new image" and so on under the crop area window are not correct. I see a square of colors. I see the same thing on the main tool bar for the "Copy Special" function and the "Share" button. There could be more that I have not discovered yet. I rebooted and tried again, but get the same thing. Also, the button icons look different each time I load.
View 14 Replies View RelatedShortly after I loaded PSP X5 on my computer, the picture icons on the buttons in the docking workspace changed and I don't know why. These are the icons at the top and bottom of the Docking area where I work with Layers and also have several other items docked.
I am using PSP X5 version 15.2.0.12
Across the top are the icons for " Edit Selection, Show/Hide Layer effects, Link/Unlink, Lock/Unlock, and Layer Styles".

I created my avatar using Paint.NET years ago:
It is looking dated (to me), so I had been thinking about sprucing it up.
I decided I would remove the ugly text "jp2code", throw a transparent Glossy Button effect over it, and put my text on top of the glossy button as an Etched Glass effect.
So, I look up and start reading up on a couple of the better glossy button tutorials:
Making glass buttons, and Buttons (ymd:110331)
I have used them both before with great success, but this time proved difficult. Neither of them seems to have a good way to use a background image.
The best approach I found was to create a ymd button using a light gray background and setting the opacity down to 150 or so.
The end result looks no where near as nice as I had pictured in my head:
As you can see, it is very dark, does not look like a Glass Button, and I have not found a good Etched Glass effect.
How to brighten up the Glossy Button without washing out the background?
Also, can I add text of different fonts and colors in the same image?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSometimes I'm getting photoshop files with hundreds of layers.
I'm really happy that I'm able to open them in Paint.NET.
But because of the amount of layers it is sometimes difficult to figure out which detail is on which layer.
And to switch off layers up to the point that only the layer in question is left is little bit painful.
Proposal:
Add an additional button at the bottom of the layers window.
If the button is selected then only the active layer is visible in the main window and not a merge of the visible layers.
You may then activate one layer after the other to check the content.
Maybe if the button is selected then this could overwrite the visiblity attribute of the layer temporary.
I've been having this problem for a while with Photoshop and my Wacom pen...
I'll be painting and I'll bump the middle button on my wacom pen and I'll get the circle of circles that spins forever... until I force quit. It's so cumbersome. I have my middle button mapped to the middle mouse click.
I use a mac and currently on CC. I have an intuos 5 but It used to happen to my three too. It's been less of a problem lately because of the crash recovery feature but it's still a huge problem...Like if there was an auto save feature or something then I'd be less frustrated.
I seem to have trouble articulating what's going on as well because all I get back is... did you update the drivers? it must be a wacom issue. try an update... etc.
The wheel spins but the pen still draws... like... FML
