Paint.NET :: Making Collage Of Small Pictures / Transparent Background

Feb 4, 2013

I want to create a collage of small pictures. I would like some of the pictures to be rotated, but not at 90 deg or 180 - at smaller angles off normal. I do not see how to rotate an image by a preselected angle, or rotate on the fly.

As a second question, for the pictures I want to make the background [usually a solid color, white] transparent so I can overlay one object with another.

How do I make just the background fully transparent, without affecting an object?

Paint.NET :: Saving Pictures With A Transparent Background

Dec 31, 2012

Every picture from google (or mostly) has a white background, when it is a picture of a single object. Is it possible to save the picture after cutting out the background? I'm working on a video whit a video editing program and I need to insert the picture without the useless white background, just the object.

Example:

In the middle the picture of an object whit the white background. I want just the object without the white background.

Paint.NET :: Collage Style Column - How To Put Pictures On Top Of Another

Dec 24, 2012

I am trying to make a collage style column that has 5 different pictures on top of each other and kind of flattened.

My idea was to have each picture be about 4 inches width and 1.5 inches in height, and then stack them right after another making the one picture.

How would I accomplish this?

Everytime I try adding them as a layer it makes the previous layer smaller, and I don't know how to move them, etc.

Paint.NET :: 4 Small Sections That Appear Transparent

Jan 1, 2013

I have succeeded in making a graphic background transparent.... However, There are 4 small sections that appear transparent but when i hit the wand they are a different transparent color (still white and grey little boxes but don't turn pale blue on top when i hit the wand... And, It is these 4 small areas that still print white.

I don't know if i messed it up with layers before ... but i am guessing??? These areas won't erase again because they show as erased.

I tried copying and pasting in paint.net a variety of formats... Gif, Jpeg, Pnd and then tried erasing again and although Jpeg did erase.... i was back to square one and these 4 small areas keep printing white. How i can transparent these 4 small areas?

Photoshop :: Making A Background Transparent?

Oct 16, 2012

I want to make the background of some images transparent so I select the backgrounds and try to delete them, though sometimes if it was white the background remains white and other times it pops up with the fill panel asking me what I want to fill the area with and transparent pixels are not an option, and other times I know I have deleted the background and it has shown me the checkerboard pattern indicating that it was indeed transparent.

Photoshop :: Making A Web Logo With Transparent Background?

Apr 13, 2012

I'm designing a header logo for a website with Photoshop CS4 (Mac) but am struggling to understand how to get the background transparent.

In Photoshop I've designed the logo using multiple layers. Prior to saving I've disabled the background layers (used for testing purposes), thus leaving a transparent area behind the logo (shown as a checkerboard pattern). However, I don't understand what the next step is. I've tried "Save for web" as well as flattening it first, only to result in a white background. I suppose I don't need to flatten it then I've also messed around with the transparency and matte options in the "Save for web" window but to no avail (yes, I know that I need to save in either GIF or PNG though for the latter I don't know the difference between PNG 8 and 24 and which of the three formats I should go for).

As for "Matte"; is this the color in the image which should be made transparent? So that in my case with a logo containing white among several colors I should make the background something entirely different from the logo as a background layer and choose "Matte" for that? I've also experimented with that but to no avail.

Paint.NET :: Making Transparent Images?

May 22, 2011

What I want to do is cut part of a photo out and place it onto another background.

I have been trying to do this by: using the magic wand tool to cut out the background of the image I want to move. Then I save that as a .png file. I then open the image I want to use as a background and (after copying the .png image,) I paste the .png image on top of the background.

At this point, one of two things happens: I either get the first image on there with lots of backgrounds showing through faces, etc; or I get the image pasted onto the background but I get the box with the little grey squares and I cannot see the background through that. I have tried playing with the transparency of the background, but then it still blends through the original images.

I've got all these great digital backgrounds that came with my studio set up and danged if I've been able to use a single one. (I don't have photo shop because its above my head and I really don't have the extra cash for it right now.)

I am trying to make a background transparent so that when I insert it onto a presentations slide, the item, a Christmas tree, has no background other than what is the background of the slide. I'm missing something simple, I know it. But thats been my day.
