I'm experimenting with a digital IR camera. The images are very "magenta" in color and everyone states to simply "swap the Red and Blue" color channels. How can this be done in Paint.net? Is there a plugin that would process IR color pictures?

I eagerly downloaded the 4.0alpha but see no sign of color channels to go with layers
When I save an OIL PAINT file created in Photoshop CS6, it saves with red and blue shapes over the image. Before saving, the image looks fine. I'm running windows 8. Is it me or a CS6 bug?

Only first file added to list. Can continue to add files one at a time. Not really good for ,say , downsampling a list of hundreds of image.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I attempt to use the organizer only a few of the files in the folder display a thumbnail in the tray. Most of them show a gray placeholder with an X in the center. If I wait a very long time (several hours), it occasionally will finish updating all of the photos in the folder but not every time. If I exit PSP it seems to close OK but it is still chewing up CPU cycles (17%) and I have to shut down the process in Task Manager if I want to try and re-open the program.
I thought it was just the RAW NEF files from my Nikon D7000 but when I go back a few years and look at the images from my D40 it hangs as well.
I've tried a re-installation but that did not change anything, it still hangs after displaying a few thumbnails.
I have used Adobe for a long time for processing a whole group of photographs at one time. I correct, signature to right or left, etc. I am just starting to use Paint.net and do like it, but need to be able to do bulk processing. below is my wed site .
View 2 Replies View RelatedIllustrator is not processing red properly. It is more than showing up - almost far too much saturation with only the red. If that makes sense. I am using CMYK since the work will be printed out. The color is not wrong until printed - everything seems to be fine till then. This is with both images AND work created on Illustrator. Images of people are where the problem shows up the most of course - makes them look like they are on fire from the inside out.
I am printing out images on a HPDesignjet T790 from Illustrator on a Mac - and have run all of the tests to see where the issue is coming from. Results show that it is not the printer, not the Mac, and is Illustrator.
CMYK is selected in document, as well as in Printer Menu.

(What I don't like about paint.net is the missing "show grid" option available in any zoomed size, but anyway back to my problem).
I'm making a product flyer (8.5 X11) for our store and we will pass them around the towns in my area. I will take pictures of the products with my camera and up load them into paint.net. The picture will need to be downsized to approx 1 X 2in, so dithering will be needed to get the same quality has the original. Now downsized, I will need get rid of the photo session backdrop, then create a new canvas of the flyer and paste them in without the background.
How to crop free hand? That is zoom in the picture and using the pencil option define the boarder of the wanted image, then define outside of it has transparent? Or any other method tom achieve the same results.
I'm trying to change an image's main color (see attached). The image has a white, wavy "thread" running along the bottom.
is there a way of changing the green to another color and keep the white thread? I'll have to eventually make several versions of different 'main' colors, all keeping that 'thread'.

My Canon 7D typically produces a JPG file in the 5B to 12MB range if set to the largest JPG quality. My problem is that if I open for example a 7MB file in Photo Pro X3 and save it again (even if I make no changes) the resulting file is about 2MB. Obviously some compression is happening which I want to avoid/control. Is it possible to set the default compression that X3 uses?
If I use file - export - JPG optimizer I can control things but if I for example want to do a batch process on lots of files. I have used Paint shop Pro since version 5 and love it but I might have to change to another editor if I cannot solve this one.
I have just lost proper color in my CS5 suite and it appears that I dropped a channel (red?). I did not change my profile and trying to do so has no effect.
Color is correct in all other programs and my monitor is correctly calibrated using Huey Pro. Attached is a screen shot of a side by side of the same image displayed in IrfanView and in Photoshop.
Color pencil is a transparent medium, most like watercolors; as a result, it is equivalent to the CYMK mode in Photoshop.
I'm working on an exercise to use only the primary colors in color pencil. If I am in CYMK mode in Photoshop, I can separate each channel to see how much pigment goes into each color. However, I would like to print it on a transparency IN COLOR, so I can superpose them onto each other to see each contribution in its original color.
But whenever I have only one channel left - say, magenta - the image appears in grayscale.
Is there a way to have each channel show up only in its own color, rather than in grayscale?
I wonder if there's a support for 30 bit color-capable displays (with compatible graphics card and driver, of course...) in Lightroom 4...
I have a NEC PA241W monitor and FirePro 5800 graphics card at my workplace --> which work well with 30 Bit color depth in Adobe PS CS5.0.4.
Since Lightroom 4 requires an "OpenGL 2.0" compatible graphics card it's obvious, that OpenGL is used now (I think LR3 didn't..?). If LR4 is able to handle 30(48) bit color depth(?)
