InDesign :: Import Index Topic List?
Sep 24, 2008Help files for indexing indicate you can import a topic list. However, there are not details about this. I cannot import a .txt topic list or a list in an ID file.
When they talk about importing a list do they specifically mean one that has already been input into the Index Panel in another ID doc?
AutoCad 2D :: Title Border Filename Won't Update?
Oct 22, 2013I've inherited the AutoCAD management at my office and I'm struggling a bit with my title border. We're in the process of moving from Mechanical 2012 to Mechanical 2014 and while setting up the new template I seem to have caused a problem with our title block - the file name no longer auto updates each time you save, where it did in 2012.
I have set the Options > AM: Preferences > System > Acad/M > Title > TitleUpdate variable to 1, but still no luck.
The file name attribute has the following info:
Tag: GEN-TITLE-DWG
Prompt: File Name
Default: (blank)
Are there any other options I need to change to get this to work in Mechanical 2014?
Edit: looks like it does update, but only when you open the file. ie. you need to save, close, then re-open the dwg. how to make it update when saving like it did in 2012?

Mar 29, 2012I have an ilogic assembly that I change to different widths. And I want ilogic to put the part number into the title block according to the size of the assembly.
What I have works but won't update on its own. I have to open the ilogic rule and close it, then open the i properties of the idw and close before it will update.

Sep 13, 2012I want to edit the per-drawing section of the "Update Title Block" menu and it seems like AutoDesk has not given this option. So where I go to edit this menu or if its even possible AT ALL?
I very much dislike that AutoDesk made it so easy to edit the project wide description lines and left almost no way to customize the per-drawing section in the same way. One would think if you making a product to fill the need of many industries you would add a way to customize it from vanilla?

Sep 23, 2012I've gotten to where I can at least select the letter, but then when I try to copy and paste, maybe I'm not using the right buttons? Ctrl-c for copy? And Ctrl-v for paste right?
I can move the individual letters by clicking the pixel mover, but since I need a double shot of two letters--one a 'c" and one 'p' I'm up the creek if I can't copy and paste the one I've got of each.

Feb 19, 2011I just downloaded Paint.Net and have been enjoying playing with various text possibilities, but i'm stumped as to how to create a 'long shadow' look to a text title...
I managed to reflect the title, and with a couple of attempts, managed to rotate the text, and italicise the reflection, but i was looking for a way to 'stretch' the reflection - any moves/ plug ins that could achieve this?

Mar 12, 2011I just installed PSP X3 Ultimate on my second data drive on a new computer and it will not take the updates.It says you have to have PSP installed first because it's trying to install the update on my operating system drive and not the drive I have PSP installed on.What can I do?
Also where is that Corel uninstall tool as I can't get this mess uninstalled.
Paint Shop Pro :: Unwanted Update Screen
Jun 24, 2012I downloaded and installed Service Pack 2 for X4 some time ago. It created havoc with my highly customized workspace and I reverted to the System Restore point set before installing SP2. So, no SP2 on my system.
Corel Guide>Settings>Messages, both messages UN-ticked.
Clicked on Check for updates using the Corel Guide and also under Help>Check for updates, to see what happens.
Nothing happens, they just stop running I then close X4 and (quite a while later, usually when doing something else) a screen appears "An important update is available for PSPX4 Download update now!

Jan 23, 2012my prior editing program was Serif Photoplus x5 and ACDSee Pro 5 for management.I purchased PSPx4 to see if I could get photo editing and photo management in one program .I've been able to figure most things out but I have a problem with the following:
1. Tags: my keywords are embedded in the file but when I looks at PBP tags they only show a couple of photos. I did notice if I selected one of the photos it was added to the tag list. I even tried selecting more files (at one time) but no luck. So, my questions is, how do I update PSP tags?
2. explorer view: is it possible to select the parent folder and view the contents of the children folders?
3. in ACDSee you can select the parent folder and it give you a count of the keywords (beach = 50, lake = 30, etc.,) in all folders. Is this possible in PSPx4?
Paint Shop Pro :: Update Dialog Box Blank?
Dec 9, 2013I have Corel PaintShop Pro X6 v 16.1.0.48, both 64 and 32 bit versions installed. When I click the check for updates in the help menu, I get 2 blank dialog boxes. I cancel out of the last one by clicking the red X in the upper right hand corner and I get a dialog box that asks me if I want to cancel.

Sep 10, 2012Any method when in the Library module to quickly edit the Title and Caption per image without having to use the mouse to click in the Title box each time. For instance - my current workflow is a bunch of products with their own SKU titles. Usually I would follow this step:
1. Import images from Camera -> Lightroom
2. Open Library and click on first image, select the Title field and enter the SKU (for instance : HG4356)
3. Now I would click in Title and type in "PROFILE" or "TOP" or "SIDE"
4. I would then use the right hand key on the keyboard to move to the next image in my filmstrip and then have to use the mouse to click into the Title field again.
5. Once all these images are completey named, I select them all and then select Library -> Rename Photos and use the Title_Caption as my fields and rename all my files to the correct SKU names.
I can usually automate option 3 somewhat by selecting all the PROFILE views and doing a sync etc... but the SKU section gets a bit tedious when having to mouse click each time into the field. Ideally, I would like a "Naming" feature where it asks for the name, upon typing it in and pressing enter, it jumps to the next image, into the same field and you can start typing again.
I know its sounds a bit lazy - but when you have over a 1000+ images to rename - it does take its time - and anything to speed up this process.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Retaining Title Block Prompted Entries When Changing Title Blocks
Apr 26, 2013The title blocks that we use have prompted entries in them and I would like to find a way using iLogic to copy the entries from one title block to another within the same drawing; i.e.. if the user decides to change from an A2 to A1 drawing.
I already have an iLogic rule which allows the user to change the active border, title block and sheet size based on a form selection but would like it to capture the prompted entries already entered and re-use them after the change.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Material Favorites Does Not Update When Update Materials
Dec 9, 2013I made a change to my materials library. I changed the color (from dark grey to light grey) of one material. I then saved this back to my library.
Now, when I start a new part, I get a warning that the material does not match the library. So, rather than using the material in the part, I opened the template and updated the material to match the library. (Manage >Update Styles).
This is where the problems come into play. In the update styles dialog, if I compare materials against my custom materials and then compare it to my Favorites, it just a continuious circle. It is like the favorites are stored inside the part and do not get updated to match the custom materials library. (I thought the whole idea behind using a library was to get the information out of the parts).

The only way I can get the favorites to match is to delete the favorite material, update the style and the add the favorite back in. That is a bunch of work. The problem I got with this is that there are thousands of parts that have been created that has this favorite in it. The only way to update these is to open each part (if I knew which one), delete the favorite, update the materials and then add the favorite back in.
I see the same thing in 2013 and 2014.

The example would be that I have stuff made from way back that the colors/dimension sytles ect dont match the current standard and upon opening a file where they are not current, it would either prompt to update immediatly OR update automatically with no prompting (preferred method).
I am doing a massive amount of updates from old files recently and to save myself 1 - 3 clicks per drawing would be wonderful.
VideoStudio :: Title Will Not Run First
May 6, 2012I have been using video studio with no problems adding title tracks before the video clips. Now for some reason I can't make the video clips run after the title but the first one runs at the same time with the title overlayed. I guess I could shoot some black video to add as the first clip but it was working before.
