I have a job where some one has manually written valves into the titleblock fileds that should be coming from sheetset manager is there a way to reinsert the titleblock and have the fields come back.

Everytime i try to create attributes for it and then use the command Battman then it says there are not attributes created. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created a sheet template that includes Fields to populate the sheet with the Project Name and location among others like scale, etc. When I create the new sheet in the project navigator most of the fields populate with the correct information based on the parameters set in the project. However, it consistantly does not populate the Project name and location. When I click the field and ensure that the attribute is set correctly then it renders the correct information. The problem is this ends up being a manual operation yet it still reads as a smart tag. Why do these not populate automatically?
Here's my process:
Create dwt for sheet file and include xref of title block.
Create a block with attributes that link to AEC Project, CurrentSheetTitle, etc. and insert into dwt.
In project navigator I create new sheet and select my template.
Information does not populate.
But when I view the block and close (no edits) it then links.
I have a couple of attributes suing fields within a block. But they don't update on opening. I need to do a manual field update to get them updated to the latest values.Tried various combinations of "fieldeval", but this was no good.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI created a dynamic block to represent a room in a floor plan. It displays the dimensions and area of the room and can be stretched. But it's defeating the whole point of being dynamic. The area won't update unless I do a regen.
I've seen comments blaming MTEXT for the problem, so I tried putting the area field in a line of TEXT or DTEXT. It still didn't update unless I did a regen.

Settings on the User Preferences Tab (Options Dialog Box) control whether fields are updated automatically or on demand (FIELDEVAL system variable). The Date field cannot be updated automatically regardless of the setting of FIELDEVAL.

I want to edit the per-drawing section of the "Update Title Block" menu and it seems like AutoDesk has not given this option. So where I go to edit this menu or if its even possible AT ALL?
I very much dislike that AutoDesk made it so easy to edit the project wide description lines and left almost no way to customize the per-drawing section in the same way. One would think if you making a product to fill the need of many industries you would add a way to customize it from vanilla?
I'm trying to take my title blocks that I have setup in Civil 3D and would like to use them in ArcGIS in my layouts. A company I used to work with did have it setup but I was not part of the setup.

I'm not up to speed in configuring title blocks with sheet set manager and I've come into this situation unexpectedly.
I had to come up with a set of P&P sheets in a hurry to assist a contractor in providing a rough estimate for a sewer run, so I generated the sheets using the preconfigured imperial sheet set template. Afterwards I've switched out the border and title block generated by the template with our standard blocks. Our block attributes are old school and do not use fields. Now I am trying to upgrade those old attributes by replacing them with fields that reference the Sheet Set attributes.
Here is the problem: when inserting the field for the sheet number I can either use the CurrentSheetNumber or the SheetSetPlaceholder attribute. If I use CurrentSheetNumber, the title block shows the correct sheet number for the current sheet (the sheet I am making the edits from). However all the other sheets show that same number. In other words the fields do not show the corresponding sheet numbers from SSM. If I use SheetSetPlaceholder none of the title blocks will update to show the sheet number.
I believe I should be using the placeholder field but I can't get it to synchronize it with the SSM. Is there a way to make this work?

However, I cannot create a date and time field that updates during a REGEN.
In the attached file, you will see the one that updates (along with a screenshot of the field variables I used), as well as other examples where a date and time field will NOT update (along with a different screen shot)
1. Why this one particular date field will update each time I REGEN
2. Why I CANNOT create a new date field value to update each time I regen
I tried different date field values, but I simply cannnot create a new field that updates with a regen.
I've just ordered a new PC and want to keep it lean, solely for photo and video editing. To that end, I don't want to install AV and intend not to use it for internet access.
Is there any way for me to manually update PS by downloading updates to my laptop and then transferring them to my new PC. I know I can do that with ACR, but cannot find any information on doing it with other updates.
The title blocks that we use have prompted entries in them and I would like to find a way using iLogic to copy the entries from one title block to another within the same drawing; i.e.. if the user decides to change from an A2 to A1 drawing.
I already have an iLogic rule which allows the user to change the active border, title block and sheet size based on a form selection but would like it to capture the prompted entries already entered and re-use them after the change.
Is there a way to generate the station ranges for each sheet title block when generating sheets? It seems like there should be some sheet set manager variable for it or something but I haven't been able to find it.

Now I have an alignment that has stations set every 10 units and on those stations I have inserted the block "test" as part of the alignment label style.
I can get the block inserting correctly, rotation the direction I require etc but what I need is for this block to report the station number.. ie 10, for the first 20 for the second and so on.
Is this possible?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAttached drawing file. What I am after is the ability to be able to stretch the length and/or width and update the two feilds depending on the new distance. At the moment each time I specify the distance parameter as the object it works then when you close and test the block it just shows #### as if that object no longer exsits.
The second problem is i am trying to be able to stretch the comms rack width and to update the door to the rack (the dashed part of the block) to the same length as the width of the rack. Ie atm the rack and door is 600mm and 600mm if the width was updated to 800mm the door will also scale to the same. I attached example in white just below the block.
We have a title block and border which is used in MS. If this is referenced using AMTITLE then it acts as expected. We issue these to some external people to create our drawings but they have been using CTRL-C and V to place them in a new drawing. ACAD does now not see them as a Title block or border but as blocks. We have a process to bring DWG's into SAP and this will check for a title block and border.
The issue is we need to fix these drawings and currently this means removing the borders and title blocks and placing new ones then adding all the attributes again. Is there a way to convert the blocks back to how they should be?

I have an existing title block a few text attributes, to which I wish to add a watermark. I have added it in the block editor as a normal attribute, with the same details as the other attributes that work, only a different tag name. It has a default value, "DRAFT" and is tagged "WMARK". It works fine in the Block Editor, and If I test the block I can edit it to display whatever I want, but if I save the block and open it from Autocad proper, the attribute is not in existence, either as a default value, or editable from block properties, attribute editor or title block editor, whereas all of the other attributes are there. I have used BattMan to verify the settings of the attribute, and the only difference is that the others all have "L" in the "Modes" column, but I think that means that their position is "locked" whereas my new attribute is justified "aligned" therefore cannot be "locked" (This is some assumption on my part, as the documentation on the "Modes" column is almost non-existent). I cannot afford to waste much more time on this issue, as the boss is breathing down my neck, but editing watermarks on every drawing after every revision is frustrating, when it could be an attribute that is editable from the title block editor.
I've made a block with fields linked to attributes (so when I change the value of the "master" attribute, the field values will change).
*NOTE* the fields are contained within a piece of MTEXT and NOT within another attribute.
The fields will not read the "value" of the attributes they are connected to, unless I explode the block (and change the DEFAULT value), or use regular text instead of attributes.
FIELDEVAL - set to 31
UPDATEFIELD - returns: "2 fields found, 2 fields updated" but it doesn't actually update them.
Regen/Regenall/Save - does nothing
BATTMAN - SYNC - does nothing
Lastly, I noticed that if I use "loose" text outside the block, but still link the fields (that are inside the block) to that text, they will update when I change the text contents after regen. AutoCAD is just having trouble using fields+attributes.

What the Issue is; I'm trying to field text from my "station number" block (which is Annotative) to my schedule. It will link at first but when I close the drawing and re-open the same drawing somehow the links/field between the "station number" and schedule break. Works fine if the block is non Annotative??
I made a dynamic block (REINF_ID) with attributes that i will use to determine the reinforcement of structural walls on elevations. I inserted an attribute called LIGN1 which will be visible and the other attributes such as DIA(bar diameter)-SPC(rebar spacing)-POSITION(rebar position) will be invisible.
Now, in the block editor i want to insert 3 fields in the LIGN1(visible) attribute default value that will link to other attributes in the same block. example: LIGN1 default = 25M(DIAattribute) @(text) 300(SPCattribute) EF(POSITIONattribute). When i insert my block in a dwg and i decide to modify the DIAMETER(invisible attribute) from 25M to 30M for example, I want the value in the LIGN1 attribute to update to show the new DIAMETER.
When I regen, it does not modify the attribute (LIGN1) 25M to 30M, it keeps the default value of the attribute (25M).
How do you insert title block, so your design is in the middle of block?

I'm editing a title block using the Block Editor. Unfortunatelly after closing the block editor the linse & Polylines reflect the changes apported in nodel space, but the text did not mouve?
