View 5 RepliesI am missing a crop tool which can rotate the crop rectangle. Similar to photoshop's tool. I found no way to rotate the crop rectangle in gimp. How do you cut out something from an image if it needs to be rotated while cropping? I tried rotating first then cropping but it does not give me enough precision so I end up with transparent areas at the border.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was wondering, is there a way to take a rectangular object and constrain it to a circle?
Two restrictions:
No using Shape3D
No using the circle selector. I'm not asking about cropping an image. I want to distort it so that it is a circle.
I have a picture of a gravestone on the wall of a church. Because of access I had to take the picture from below so that the resulting image is a regular trapezoid, being longer at the base than at the top.
How can I make the image into a rectangle? Effectively I need to expand the width of the image at the top whilst keeping that at the bottom the same, with everything between being expanded in the right ratio. I am not worried if the images of the brickwork around the stone are distorted - I can remove them.
I have a need to repeatedly 'copy' an area of a certain size (say X by Y) from a number of images.
I can set the size, by eye, using the rectangular selection tool and then simply move that to each area on the image I wish to copy - no problem.
But I want to do the same size from a number of different images (and will be doing this over a number of different sessions/days etc.)
I made a red rectangle and then positioned white text over it. I'd like to repeat that a dozen or so times in the image, just changing the text.
I assume I need to 'group' the text and rectangle so that I can move them together (I don't want to have to repeat the tricky positioning every time). And then just edit the text - but so far it's eluded me!
I'm using PSP8 but hopefully the approach is similar in later versions.
Even better, any script I could download that would make this sort of 'boxed label' simpler?
I'm looking for a way to select a rectangular region, then pull it from one of the center bar points to create a rectangle with a curve. Why?
Our company has a nice graphic that it paid for, and I've got a high resolution version of it. I want to create a graphic of some of our products, and instead of having the boring looking "stamp styled logo" at the top or bottom of my graphic, I'd like to add it in as a new layer, then bend it around the image.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. I'm on the right layer, selected some text with the rectangle, clicked the move tool & tried to drag the selection (have the little hand showing so I'm in the right corner) but the box just expands the contents. (I tried both move tools, although I've no idea what the difference between them is.
I have used the move tool a little in the past, and it worked.
Is there a way to make rectangle with a specific width / height?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn many case for my purpose it is necessary to define the selection rectangle exactly at pixel level
In that case I can't play for hours with the mouse to try to get the right rectangle
I just want to be able to define a position and a width. Is it possible to do that with Paint.NET
I've noticed when you tilt things using Rotate/Zoom the edges and some finer details can get quite jaggy.Pretty much like in Shape3D unless you check the AA option and raise the level up to 4/5. Then all the creases are ironed out and detail is kept Is it even possible to put an AA option into Rotate/ Zoom ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedHow to rotate text did not work. Why would two people want to chime in with inaccurate information. The first said you go to Layers and then Rotate. All this does is rotate the entire picture not just your text. Then the other said to lasso it and right click it while you drag it either way. No such thing exists. Nothing rotates with these methods. I am not even sure there is a way to select the text?
How to rotate text? I need it for a quick logo. I have the logo saying Travel Articles and wanted the .com next to it but at a right angle. Just works well with the pic.
Attached there is a picture made through PhotoScape where big outline rectangle is rounded. I am trying to do similar one through PSP. Drawing I found some difficulties:
a) How to create a rounded rectangle? I tried to use “rectangle tool” but I couldn’t find adjust to make it “rounded”.
b) Considering the possibility to create a “rounded rectangle” and applying “shadow drop” on it, will the shadow appear “rounded” as well? Or is there something to do?
c) In some tests I made applying “shadow drop” on a normal rectangle (as a new layer) the only adjust I could make after that was on “shadow size” (dragging the mouse). I couldn’t find a way to access effect properties to readjust attributes as “opacity” or “blur”. How to come back to “shadow drop” configuration panel (attached) to readjust settings as opacity or blur?
Is it possible to rotate images in all axis in PSPx5? If not, any tip to a program doing so working with PSPX5?

2. There are so many plug ins for paint.net I don't even know where to start O_O what I'm looking for however, besides what I listed above is this: A free-form rotate tool, A mirror/flip tool and other basic things like that.
3. This is my main question, what I want to do that I can't do in Gimp is be able to Re-size, and rotate png/xcf images without losing data. I know Photoshop can do this in a way but Photoshop is expensive.
Does Paint.net have a similar feature to photoshop, and if so is it A plug-in? and if so which one
Is there a way to rotate the paintbrush tool? There's many times when I'm using a brush and it's at the wrong angle. Placing the brush on a separate layer and then rotating the layer is a huge hassle. Therefore, I was wondering if there was a way to rotate brushes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've run into Paint.NET a few weeks ago. I think it's a very good choice for beginners (and maybe professionals too) at a graphic field. I've made some cool pictures (with some cool plugins inside Paint.NET or published at the forum) and now I wanna to make my own plugin.
The question is how to move and rotate a specific part of image at source canvas. The rest of the image must be untouched. I consider it's impossible to use Layers -> Rotate/Zoom tool directly (correct me if I'm wrong). So I should use a piece of C# code. I think source code of Rotate/Zoom tool would be very useful too but I couldn't find it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm drawing a small map, and in several places there is text rotated so as to fit next to a slanted line. The problem comes when I decide to move the text, usually along a line parallel to itself, or perhaps in some other direction.
As far as I can tell, the only way to select the text is with the lasso tool, which can be very difficult, because of the close tolerances. Maybe the easiest way is simply to erase the text and re-create it. So, is there some way to rotate the selection box, so I can grab the slanted text easily?
