View 2 Repliesi've some trouble with a specific document. I could not align any rectangle or define a specific size. For exemple, i choose 600px x600 px in the top "menu" bar, illustrator change the values by 599,641 px
It's the same in inch, mm..etc.. The second thing it's if i choose a specific coordinate to place the rectangle , it's change by illustrator.
I have not the problem on other document.
It's a 21 cm 21cm @ 300 dpi, proprotions 1
No grid activited or anything else to force the magnetism

I am trying to get this done since last few days but could not
Ok here is the problem, I need a rectangle see attached file with different RGB colors at all four corners and also middle. I have mentioned the RGB on the image.
Is there a way to use the rectangle select tool to crop a photo to a specific aspect ratio - like 5x7 or 8x10?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a need to repeatedly 'copy' an area of a certain size (say X by Y) from a number of images.
I can set the size, by eye, using the rectangular selection tool and then simply move that to each area on the image I wish to copy - no problem.
But I want to do the same size from a number of different images (and will be doing this over a number of different sessions/days etc.)
I have a picture of a gravestone on the wall of a church. Because of access I had to take the picture from below so that the resulting image is a regular trapezoid, being longer at the base than at the top.
How can I make the image into a rectangle? Effectively I need to expand the width of the image at the top whilst keeping that at the bottom the same, with everything between being expanded in the right ratio. I am not worried if the images of the brickwork around the stone are distorted - I can remove them.
I am trying to print an image to an exact size but can't seem to get it right. I am using the resize tool but the image always appears cropped at the edges. The image is a circle. Is there a way to determine the exact size before printing?

What I want to know is if there is a way to make a hotkey or at all save specific options for specific tools. Let's say I'm using the 'Paintbrush, Opacity 70%, Hardness 075, Size 4.00' as my "standard outline tool". Can I some how save that preference (and any other tool such as "Specific Eraser Op. 100%, Hard. 100, Size 10.00) so that I can easily switch between "Ouline Brush" and "Specific Eraser" . Maybe to the 'f-buttons'
I'd like to be able to make maybe 5 specific tools:-Outline Brush
-Small Eraser
-Big Eraser
-Detailed Color brush
-Big Color Brush.
Im using Autocad Structural Detailing 2013. Its is possible to make specific command to start at specific layers?
EX: Breakline ,by default start at "LAYER 88".
Polyline ,by default start at "LAYER 150".
How can I draw tiles in a specific rectangle? Say I have a rectangle of 10x20. I have tiles of 3x8. I want to fill the rectangle from bottom left with the tiles so they crop at the edges of the rectangle.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a picture fit a headline size of 960 x 150. I have resized the picture to 160 x 152 so the height is good. The object of the picture is on the right and that is where I would like to keep it. What I would like to do is extend the width, to the left, to 960 and fill in that new space with the background color in the picture. Then add the title of my website on the left. I looked at the tutorials but cannot seem to make the tools do the changes I want. how to make my headline.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running PSPX3. the effect of no compression (or compression factor = 1) on saving files. I've got a JPEG image file straight from my camera that's approximately 4.1MB in size. If I do nothing else but "Save As" with a compression factor of 1, the new file size is approximately 50% larger, or 6.2MB. What has changed to make the file size larger? Both images are still 72DPI, 3648X2736px. I can't image that I have done anything to "improve" image quality, so why did the file size increase?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've had a simple lisp I've been using for years that suddenly disappeared. It required that you identify a block name, tag name, and the value that you want the tag to be. All of this is performed via command line, so it is scriptable. Since I lost it, I've been experimenting with -attedit. This command comes frustratingly close to what I'm looking for, except it only appends an existing tag, or replaces a specific string within the tag; I can't get it to replace the entire tag, regardless of its value.
1> Any lisp routine that does what I describe?
or
2> How to make -attedit replace a tag value without regard to what the value currently is (like a * wildcard)?
I would like to be able to draw a rectangle of a certain size.
I have tried using the Rectangular Marquee tool, but cannot find how to make it a certain size in say centimetres.
having drawn a rounded rectangle I'm trying to set it to a precise size -
do I have to rasterize it first or am I as ususal missing something.
I have a rectangle that is the correct width (X) but the wrong height (Y). How can I stretch it so the height is exactly 200? I think I know all the features of the stretch command. I can select the right nodes using a crossing polygon and stretch it an arbitrary amount with the cursor. I can also add an exact displacement to the size it was before.
The trouble is that all changes are based on the existing size. And it wasn't an exact size in the first place.
So how can I set the height to exactly 200? The SCALE command is no good as it scales X and Y the same amount.
The obvious work-around is to draw another rectangle the correct size on top of the old one. But that's an admission of failure. Am I missing something, or is there really no way to stretch something to an exact size?
I create a new illustrator document (Illustrator CS5 - v15.1.0), in that document I create a rectangle with the rectangle tool (fill: white; stroke: black); I save the document (.ai-format; create pdf compatible file active). The file size messures 3.2 Mb. Why is that? It's just a simple rectangle with 4 points…
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently working in a Illustrator file that is 10% of the final print size. This is because the final size is 8,9 x 5,8 meters (15 x 7 times A1). It is therefor all my sizes have to be the EXACT size. Any flaws in sizes will be 10x as big on the final print.
So I am creating 15 x 7 A1 rectangles in my composition of 891 x 588,7 millimeters. 10% of a A1 should be 84,1x59,4mm. However, when I create a rectangle by this very size, Illustrator automatically changes it to 83,961 x 59,267 millimeters. This will result in a 5 pixel blank space on the 15 side, which means 50 pixels on the final size. I, but especially my boss ( -_-' ) would like this to be 0 pixels.
How to fix this auto correction? I think it will have something to do with the millimeters to pixel correction.
I need to cut a section out of an image in a predetermined aspect ratio e.g. I want to be able to zoom into the image at any level then use some kind of tool to hover a box which is the right ratio over the area I want and basically copy it into a new document. The idea being I can then resize the new image based on size e.g. width 250px while keeping the aspect ratio, I want to do this with many pictures in order to get a consistent look on the page.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm in CS6. I want to crop a photo to a specific size. Example. I have a photo 14X12.5. Use unconstrained 12X12 cropping. The result is 12.5X12.5. Not what I want. How do I crop to the specific size of 12X12 deleting part of the photo?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI hope I am able to adequately describe what I want to do!
Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and people used film in their cameras, here is how I used to mark my clients' photos for cropping:
1. A photo proof would be on the table.
2. I would put a cardboard device over the photo.
3. With the device I could make a rectangular window of various standard frame sizes, like 8x10 or 5x7.
4. I would put the "window" over the photo wherever it was most pleasing, and then, with a pen, mark the outline of the area to be kept.
5. The photolab would then crop the photos accordingly.
6. The photos could then be printed to fit perfectly into frames.
Whew! Does that make sense?
Now: How do I do the equivalent in Photoshop?
I do NOT want to simply "resize" the photo. I want to CROP WITH THE FINAL SIZE IN MIND.
It seems like you could do this with the crop tool, but I can't figure out how.
