Apr 30, 2013

I make a picture of an anime char and the background is all gray or white, but when i put it onto the background, the gray or white part of the pictures shows up and blocks the background a little? How do i Overlay the background onto the picture gray background? For example:
Picture 1 is what happens, but I want to learn how to do it like Picture 2.

I just started using Paint.net, and while I love it, I am functionally useless with it as of now. I am making a pair of shoes on another website, and I need this image as a picture for the shoe, but no matter what I try, the image always saves as a white background, when all I want to save is the picture itself WITHOUT the white background.

I took a pic of my kitty against a pretty white wall but it was late at night so the wall came out very gray. I had to catch it before she moved. Can I change the color of the background and not the kitty or the hat?

Bassically i want to create a photo collage of pics. I have used the Lasso Select tool to cut out my images in the shapes that i wanted and deleted the remaing background. i then saved the cutout image but the issue i am having is that the canvas (checkerboard) is larger than the picture. I can resize the canvas however the images are not standard shapes and the area fills up with either black or white filling.
When i use Picasa to do the collage the pics that overlap are surround with a border; basically the fill between the image and the canvas.

I'm trying to create a picture which has a background image and some text on it.
Since the image has different colors, the textcolor should ajust to the underlying image.
If the image color is dark, the color of the text sould be light or the other way round.

Reference tutorial=> Remove Photo Backgrounds with the Background Eraser {URL]
a) I follow the tutorial above to remove backgrounds. However, the background has similar color than picture (in this case "white" - picture attached - FIG_2). So, when I use "background eraser" tool, it erase part of my picture as well. So, how to handle it properly?
b) The tutorial was usefull to other image that has different backgound color (FIG_3 attached). But using other software (Gimp) I could just take the transparency index (color=> color to alfa) with "one click" without the request of erase background manually. So, is there any similar way to do it easily in Paint Shop?

I need to remove a picture of a horse in the background and replace it with a picture of a fence similar to the rest of the picture. I know how to erase the image using the lasso tool and the magic wand. How do I clone part of the background to replace the erased image and then blend the two pictures together?

I have a picture and I wanted to follow the tutorial but my english isnt that great so I have somethimes problems during the activity.
I wanted to play with a picture doing makeover.
First I changed the eye color
''New Layer.
Use a hard brush that's the exact same size as the iris, and paint with the desired colour over top of the original iris. Set the blend mode to Hue/Softlight/Overlay. Your choice. The blend mode choice is affected by how light/dark your replacement colour is. Layer Opacity can also be lowered to make the effect more subtle. In my header image, i used 'Hue' blend mode.''
So I did.
Then I wanted to do this:
''Select the white of the eyeball; either using Quick Mask or the selection tools. Add a HUE&SAT Adjustment Layer right above the smoothed duplicate layer. Lower the Saturation and raise the Brightness until the white looks 'almost' white. Don't go too pure white, or it'll look real fake. Click the Layer Mask for the Adjustment layer, and apply the 'Blur More' filter 2x -- to soften the edges a bit, and blend this new white area into the outer edges of the eyeball.''
I did tried this but didnt worked.
When I color it White in the white section of the eye to make it more white, It colors .
But then I need to paly with the HUE/SAT option.
When I do that The PICTURE goes into Hue, not the WHITE PLACE.
I only want to HUE the White place that I marked, not the entire picture.

Hoping someone can help me with something that I think is simple but can't find out how to do it.
I have a picture that has a dark boarder which I want to blend evenly into a black background. I've tried the gradient tool but can only seem to blend a small part of the picture and not all four sides evenly. Is there another way?

I have a group photo of some fellow co-workers and would like to add 2 other individuals that weren't in the group photo. When I add the 2 people to the group shot however it's clearly visible that they were photoshoped in because the coloring, saturation, etc of the individuals are different from the group shot.

Basically I've got the cut out that I want to blend into a picture, and what I do is get the images as near the centre of the canvas as I can, then copy and paste a new layer. Take the new layer and reduce it in size by say 95%, then try to centre it within the original image behind is as best I can. Select round it with the fuzzy select tool, then delete the smaller image. Move back to the original image and then add mask layer and use gradient blur to introduce a gradually fading of a few pixels round the edges.
The trouble is this method is not really good for complex shapes and often involves some iWarping to get the smaller image within the boundary of the larger one. So my question is, is there an easy way to fuzzy select round an image boundary that can introduce an arbitrarily chosen margin, say 5 or 10 pixels?
Anyway this is the kind of thing I am working on at the moment, making trippy fantasy images using dead animal's skulls.

I used to use MediaStudio Pro to create picture in picture especially where the picture starts small and grows to cover the entire background video clip.
I looked for and found a video filter which I thought would allow me to do the same. However after viewing the 'help' for the filter and trying just about everything I could think of I cannot achieve what I want to do if start with a video clip and then have another video clip appear (very small) in one area of the background video and then slowly grow larger to eventually cover the background video clip.
I can make the picture in picture appear and grow larger but it covers the entire background video clip with black effectively covering it no matter what size my picture in picture is. I looked for a chroma key to cover the black out but could not find it.

I'm creating an image for a webpage, I'ts a statue with a blue cloudy sky behind it. I'd like to smooth the edges of the image so that the sky blends nicely into the white web page.
I was hoping PS had something like a sponge that an artist would use on a canvas to diffuse any sharp edges at the edge of a painting.
