View 1 RepliesI have several catalogs on my iMac and I need to move a set of images from one catalogue to another. All the files and catalogs are on the same iMac/HDD and the files are RAW format. I am using LR4.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've created a BIG catalogue with photos from various drives. And each time I've used "export" to copy the photos to an internal drive on a brand new computer with a huge drive.
I'd like the main catalogue to ALL refer to the files on the new huge drive?
When I merge LR5 catalogs the existing photos are overwritten by the incoming photos
View 1 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop Elements 10. After loading pictures into "my pictures" in windows I cannot move them into the Organizer. The raw files will not transfer despite adding the plug-in and now the jpg files from my latest batch will not move to the Organizer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have switched my "mouse" over to the number keypad like it says to do for the touchpad computer. I go to tranform image size and the outline surrounding the photo only moves up/down or side-to-side. How do I get the outline to move at the corners so I can easily manipulate the size? Either way - FN, CTRL, Win or other buttons do nothing to enlarge photo to where I want to set it. How can I accomplish this - any experts on touchpad conversion to number keypads out there? This is Win8 with PSE11. I just want this computer to get up to par to do some photo editing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI wasn't aware of using keywords and can see how useful they can be.I have more than one catalog and am having a hard time accessing all my photos. I'm thinking of uninstalling Lightroom and starting from scratch using only one catalog.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have to migrate from a windows pc to a mac. I have already installed Lightroom 4.4 on the new mac book pro. How can I manage the migration without loosing all my Catalogs, photos, templates, and all the work done on my photos with Lightroom? Which files do I have to paste and copy in my new mac? Do I have to do some other operations before (backup or other?)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm getting a new computer. How do I get LR 4.1 and all of my presets from my old Vista machine over to the new machine running Windows 7? Same question for PS 5. Can I use a program such as Acronis True Image to selectively copy programs from my old machine to the new one?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with moving my photos from a MacBook Pro to a PC laptop. All the files reside in one directory on an external drive. I copied the catalog from the Mac to the PC, connected the drive, started LR and pointed to the copied catalog. As expected, LR did not know where the files from the external drive were, so I highlighted the drive, right clicked the photo directory and told it to find missing files. I then pointed it to the proper directory on the drive. It only partially worked. Several of the subdirectories on the drive did not relink. If I take the drive off the PC and put it back on the Mac, the subdirectories are properly linked, where on the PC, some aren't.
I can reimport, but then I have to do edits all over again on those photos.
moving my photos from the old computer to a new one with all of the information and changes made. Is ther a step by step written directions any where? This is for LR 4.3
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Mac Pro and just bought an iMac.
On my Mac Pro, the LR catalog is on the boot drive. The photos are on a separate internal drive.
My plan is to copy both the photos and the LR catalog to the 3 TB Fusion drive of the iMac.
Would I then just double-click on the catalog to open it, and use this process to "reconnect" the missing photo files?
I recently had a computer crash and want to migrate my photos and changes from my old hard drive into my newly installed Lightroom software on the new computer. I recovered the old drive, and accessed it from my new computer. I found the most recent Lightroom catalog and imported it. Then I imported all of my photos into Lightroom. The problem is that the catalog and the photos don't seem to be talking to each other. In the catalog, the photos are there all bunched together, no folders separating by date. In the photo folders that ARE separated by date, the original photos are there as they were first imported (RAW files), but don't have the develop changes that I made to them. How can I get these two things to link up?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI currently am using Elements 9 with Windows 7. I will be getting a new computer with Windows 8.1. I have 5 catalogs. All are backed up on external hard drives. I plan to install Elements 9 on the new computer and then restore the catalogs. The catalogs are in chronological order. Should I restore them in any particular order, and if so, should I do the more recent catalog or the oldest one first?
I guess I should also ask if Elements 9 will be compatible with Windows 8.1.
My problem is that when I'm importing photos from my folders on the computer to my catalog in Lightroom 4, Lightroom doesn't import all photos from my folders. It imports the first 3-4 photos rom my folder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI import my photos into an external drive, raw format. . My computer has never run so slow. If I process those images, are they somehow on my main computer or still on the external drive?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can manually import photos to the correct location, or using a new catolog move / add the photos return to the last catolog to find half my photos missing. at this point LR allows you to 'find missing photos' If you find one missing photo it magically finds other missing photos from the same folder (exact same date) If Adobe would only allow its app to go out a directory or two when finding other missing photos this problem would go away for me, and its super easy to do, and it does not open up adobe to any new issues, only fixes a huge amount of mistakes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter importing 71,000 photos into version 4, I somehow ended up continuing to use version 3 (even though 4 was on my computer). Now, 1,000 more photos later, I discover that version 3 is still on my computer and is actually the version I am using! What is the smartest way to get the most recent 1,000 photos into version 4 and GET RID of version 3?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have found that I cannot delete any photos from LR 4.1 using any delete command (from disc choice). Ctrl+Backspace method or right click -> delete method. No amount of fussing going to other files and then back to the ones I want to delete works. Rebooting the program doesn't work. Google search shows that this may be a known bug.
I cannot delete anything in LR (from disc) and can only delete one file at a time from explorer (directly from LR - that is, LR will not show me more than one file at a time in explorer). I am on new computer (never had this issue before): Windows 7 professional 64 bit, processor i7-3770 3.40 GHz, 16GB RAM.
Now I find that I cannot move files at all through the LR 4.1 interface.Perhaps windows is not giving permission to LR to move anything?
I imported them without moving them. So they're in the catalog. How do I transfer them to the drive which contains the entire catalog. (I should have hit "move" right?)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Lightroom 5 and moving photos to a sub folder. Here's where I'm running into a problem:
My photos are in a folder named "to file"Inside "to file" I create a folder named "2013-05"I select some photos from "to file" and click and drag them into "2013-05"They appear in "2013-05" as expectedThe problem is, they still appear in the parent folder "to file" My question is, once I move photos to a sub folder how can I prevent them from appearing in the parent folder?
I tried Command key to select several images, then dragging the photos to targeted folder.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a PSE10 photo catalog and video catalog on my Win'7 64-bit PC. The catalog files are on my C drive (default location) and the media files are on a different internal "D" drive.
Each catalog currently resides in its own folder in the default location on C drive, and each catalog file is named "catalog.pse10db". It is curious that each file is identically named; I didn't do that, PSE did.
I want to move the photo catalog and video catalog to the internal "D" drive so that when I backup the D drive, the catalogs and media files are all backed up together.
How do I move my catalogs from the default location to a different location? I have read the "Backup and Restore Catalogs to New computer" info and think it may apply here, but I want to be sure before I try anything.
I'm a layman in using PSE (version 8). I've arranged all my photos in sevaral catalogs and I've build several albums. Now I have to move over all this to a new PC, also running a newer version of PSE (10 or 11). On that PC the main folder in which al my pictures reside will probably be on a different drive.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwas trying to move a photo to another location and I clicked on something and it asked if I wanted to create a new catalog. I said yes. Now none of my photos are appearing in my lightroom.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFIRST: I cannot move photos from one folder to another, drag and drop does not function at all, and there is no 'move' command with a right-cllick on a photo. I can move folder locations, drag and drop on the folder view works, but I want to move individual photos. I am sure I could do it with previous versions.
SECOND: If I click on HELP, I simply get a box up from Adobe AIR saying: This installation of this application is damaged. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance. I am loathe to re-install as last time I did that, I had a grand hassle over number of activations, even though I am only running on my one and only machine.
I updated from LR 3 to LR4 on Win 7 64 bit. I am no longer able to move photos from one folder on LR to a different folder.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor some reason I'm unable to move photos or folders from within lightroom 4. The drag and drop system from the library module does nothing for me. I'm pretty sure I just watched an AdobeTV demonstration where the presenter had no problem moving files inside the "Folders" panel in the Library. I've even tried highlighting the photos I want to move from the grid view, control+clicking on the folder where I want them to go, selecting "Move Selected Photos to this Folder" from the flyout, and nothing happens.
My cursor shows a green plus(+) icon when I mouse over the destination folder when dragging the photos, as if LR were going to add the files to the folder.... but then nothing happens.
Am I losing it, shouldn't this be a completely intuiative process? Is it possible I've locked my files/photos?
