View 2 RepliesAny method when in the Library module to quickly edit the Title and Caption per image without having to use the mouse to click in the Title box each time. For instance - my current workflow is a bunch of products with their own SKU titles. Usually I would follow this step:
1. Import images from Camera -> Lightroom
2. Open Library and click on first image, select the Title field and enter the SKU (for instance : HG4356)
3. Now I would click in Title and type in "PROFILE" or "TOP" or "SIDE"
4. I would then use the right hand key on the keyboard to move to the next image in my filmstrip and then have to use the mouse to click into the Title field again.
5. Once all these images are completey named, I select them all and then select Library -> Rename Photos and use the Title_Caption as my fields and rename all my files to the correct SKU names.
I can usually automate option 3 somewhat by selecting all the PROFILE views and doing a sync etc... but the SKU section gets a bit tedious when having to mouse click each time into the field. Ideally, I would like a "Naming" feature where it asks for the name, upon typing it in and pressing enter, it jumps to the next image, into the same field and you can start typing again.
I know its sounds a bit lazy - but when you have over a 1000+ images to rename - it does take its time - and anything to speed up this process.
How do I add person featured to a single photo in metadata? I can see this field when syncing metadata but not for an individual photo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI must have done this when I was trying to do some other keyboard shortcut and got the wrong one - and now I can't figure out how to get rid of it. But a few weeks ago, I did something and now the file name, date/time and image size appear in white text over the top-left of any photo I have in the Develop or Library screens:
So you can see "_MG_0955.CR2" and the other details in the clouds there. How to get rid of that? I can't find anything in any of the menus. I'm on Lightroom 4.3 for Mac OSX Mountain Lion.
How do I know which collectios my single image is in? Is it in one collection? Is it ten colelctions? How can i find out? If I click a single image, it doesnt highlight all the possible locations the image resides in. Am I missing something?

That said, using LR5.2 I'm unable to import, even a single image. I'vre tried rebooting LR, rebooting the external HD, rebooting the computer. Nothing works.

View 4 Replies View RelatedLet me start by describing my needs. I need to generate proofs for my shoots. I'd like to export images with different aspect ratios for target devices, ie iPad, Android phone, 16:9 TV, etc. What would be really great is if I can select a named "crop setting" in the export window and generate JPGs based on the chosen setting. I've searched all over the place, all seem to talk about presets, virtual copies, etc, which really doesn't address what I want.
Fundamentally I'd like to be able to save a handful of crop settings (unique crops but with common names) for each image. I will create the crops manually as I have to pick the position and size for each carefully. For example, on a 4000x6000 image I have these crop settings (for a fairly small area of the image):
1. iPad [settings: top-left coordinate (500,500), ratio 4:3, width2000]
2. Android [settings: top-left coordinate (500,400), ratio 8:5, width 2400]
3. HDTV [settings: top-left coordinate(500,450), ratio 16:9, width 2200]
As you can see each crop is different becasue I want to be precise about how the cropped outputs look. Then at export time, I want to be able to multi-select a bunch of images and pick say "iPad" crop setting to create the JPGs in a batch.
Is there a custom plugin outside of Lightroom that can handle this?
I am using LR5 and am trying to print a single image using print package in the centre of the page, equal borders on all 4 sides.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to change the default filename for the HTML pages produced by Lightroom 3 in the web gallery. Specifically, I would like to remove the string "_large" from the HTML filename, so it corresponds exactly to the image filename.
Specifically, the URL by default is like this: [URL] ....
and I would like it to be like this: [URL] ....
I assume there is some way to make this change using the template editors, but I can't figure it out.
If I'm using the marquee tool to crop an image, how can I save the new cropped image as a jpeg file type rather than as a PSD, PDD file type?

I'm used to easily importing RAW, Tiff and jpeg into LR3. For a reason unknown to me, LR3 now rejects all import requests.
Recent RAW files are shot on 5d mk3 into Capture One Pro 6.4.3-64bit. I thought it would be the camera so I tried to import historic files from jobs that I had already proccessed in LR3 but still no luck.
Tried importing regular tiffs, no joy either.
I have a Nikon D800 (software up to date) and bought Lr 5 yesterday (software up to date). Watcehd Julieanne Kost TV series on Lr, very informative. I want edit my photographs with Capture NX 2 launching it from within Lr 5. Julieanne explained how to launch Photoshop and I have changed the settings in the dropdown menu for 'photo' to Cature Nx 2 and browsed to find it on my program list. It is now set as the editing program, but does not allow me to chamnge the file type to NEF, which is the filetype I want to use. I bought Lr 5 because the D800 was listed as a compatible camera for Lr 5.

I am a new lightroom user. I have a catalog of 2600 images that are jpeg files. I would like to change to file type tiff.
What would be the best method to get things changed?.
Is there a way to tell whether a DNG is the result of converting a cr2/nef vs. jpeg or tiff? I seem to remember an "original file" field in the metadata in the past.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI uploaded some photos from my phone onto my laptop. These seem to have disappeared altogether. They are no longer on my phone, they are not in any of the folders on my laptop (I have checked several times) and they are not in my laptop recycling bin either. Since this happened, I have notcied the appearance of many LRPREV files on my laptop, which I cannot open and I have not seen before. Putting 2 and 2 together, I am inclined to believe that the lost uploaded photos from my phone are the LRPREV files, and that they were somehow, unintentionally converted.
What are LRPREV files, and how do I open them? Alternatively, is there a way to convert them into a file type which I can open? where my uploaded photos may be?

Why doesn't PS do LR style non-destructrive editing, i.e., why not simply return a record of the edits made in a format compatible with LR?
View 8 Replies View RelatedCorel Draw 5 did this very nicely but it's obsolete and I can't load it onto this machine (HP all-in-one Pavilion desktop with Windows 8).
I am working with hand-drawn images but since I need to manipulate the outline/s with a 4 - 12 pixel tool, it would be great to just be editing nodes instead. Creating the image from scratch as a vector graphic would be a horrible large amount of work and is not feasible at this time.
Is there any way other than Corel Draw 5 to make the conversion from bitmap-type images to editable vector graphics, ie: editable nodes?
PS - I don't have $700 - $1000 to spend on software at this point but do have Photoshop Elements 11, Premiere 11 and Lightroom, plus GIMP and the usual. Where should I start?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I export a photo to a sRGB file, there is way to much color in the photo. In Lightroom 4.2 the photo looks good, but when I open the exported photo It looks like its to much saturated. When I export the photo as AdobeRGB (1998), strange enough the photo looks for 95% oke.
I'm using a Eizo ColorEdge CG243W monitor in sRGB mode. To ensure that it's not my monitor that's causing the problem, I've watched both photo's (sRGB and aRGB) on a standard monitor on a different computer. The result is the same: to much color in the sRGB file, pretty good colors in the aRGB file.

I've just bought this system. Before I've used another computer, with the same monitor, were I've tried Lightroom 3.2. I didn't experienced any problems there. Then I also used the monitor in sRGB mode. When I exported to a sRGB file, the photo came out perfect.
