Lightroom :: How To Open Pictures As Layers In Photoshop
Aug 22, 2013
I can do it by choosing "external editing" and then choosing the photoshop.exe file but by doiing it this way I've lost the sweet possibilitie to open several pictures as layers in Photoshop...
I imported 146 photos into l/r4, the catalogue i calld eden, the catalogue then came up as eden.lr cat-journal.when first imported i saw the images, now when I open catalogue it says invalid or corrupt.
Everything is updated and the pictures in question have been successfully imported into Lr.
I would like to open individual pictures into Lr, but I am unsuccessful thus far.
I right-click on the picture and choose Open with Lr does not appear in the list of programs, so I click Choose Program.
I went to the Desktop and selected the Lr icon.
Now when I right-click on individual pictures, Lr appears as one of the available programs, but when I select it, the Lr Import dialog opens even though the image has been previously imported into Lr.
Is there any way to correct this so when I right-click on a picture and choose Lr, it opens into the Library or Develop module?
The option to edit in Photoshop CS4 from Lightroom 4 and return is just fine. However, the option to Open images as layers in Photoshop is grayed out as well as the option to open as Smart Object or Merge.
According to 'About Lightroom; this is what I'm running: <Lightroom 3.6, Camera Raw 6.6>
I used to 'merge to panorama', or 'open as layers' in Photoshop regularly, but today it no longer works. When I try, the message comes up: "This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 6.6 for full compatibility. Please update the Camera Raw plug-in using the update tool available in the Photoshop help menu."
When I go to Photoshop Help Menu, 'no available updates at this time' is the message that comes up. I manually downloaded the Camera Raw 6.6, but to no avail.
When attempting to edit using PS, the program DOES open, but nothing happens... the files do not appear. They DO open individually when Edit in Photoshop CS4 is selected, but I prefer the 'open in layers' option, and often use the 'merge to panorama'...
I frequently use the command 'open as layers in Photoshop'. Suddenly, the only thing that happens after clicking on this demand, is that PS opens (I work with CS5 and LR4). But no images. I can work around with cmd-E for each file, but that is quite a hassle.
I am trying to download pictures in folders and sub folders into the LR catalog. The import brings all the pics in the subfolders over but when II click on the parent folder it shows not pictures or number of pictures in it.
I imported pictures to Adobe Lightroom and exported them to my memory card. Now my memory card is broke! Is there any way to retrieve those pictures from Lightroom. Right now they are saying missing.
Every time I try to open a photo in My Picture the program freezes, every time! To get around this I have to choose from within Bridge, how can I fix this problem?
I am working on a photo montage and some of the photos will not open. Most of them did just fine but I am thinking that the ones that will not might be because they are too large. I have tried Photoshop, Photoshop Elements and Imaginate. None of those will work. Windows Paint will open them. Some of them I was able to resize in Paint and then open in Photoshop but the rest I cannot.
If I could scale down in Paint I think I could then get them to open in Photoshop but they are so big that I cannot do that. There doesn't seem to be a demagnifier in Paint. Another thing, Windows Explorer reads them just fine as they show up as thumbnails and also in Filmstrip mode.
Since yesterday I have the problem, that I can't open/save pictures as PNG any more, the option is completely gone. When I try to open one, it says "not the right kind of document".
I don't know what I've done, I just wanted to install filters and I've put them in the Plug-ins/Filters folder. But they didn't work so I've put them out again.I already deleted my preferences and I am desperate, I don't know what to do anymore.
i done some photos in photoshop and now i cant open them why it says they are not a valid photoshop document or end of file was encountered i used elements 6.0 and elements 10
after massive Photoshop crashes - Photoshop can’t open pictures anymore, even small picts with 10 kb - I deinstalled Photoshop with the Adobe Deinstall Photoshop programm.
Now I wan’t reinstall the App over my Creativ Cloud Account (1 year abo) and get the following answer: ““There is now application to open the following URL [URL]....
You can search in the App Store for an application to open these document, or you find an application at your computer …““ WHAT HAVE I TO DO?
My Photostop Elements 11 Editor will not open pictues. I have tried to uninstall/install the product and this didn't work. I can get it to work once in awhile and then it stops working again.
I have a Mac with OSX8 and have previously been using PSE9 without any trouble. I've recently installed PSE12 but it cannot access the pictures in my iPhoto library for editing, even though I've changed the iPhoto settings to use PSE12 as the external editor. When I right click a picture in iPhoto and then click "edit in external editor", PSE12 opens but the worksurface is empty, and I can't figure out how to open the picture for editing. I have no problem editing photos that are on my desktop, so the problem seems to lie in communication between iPhoto and PSE12. I never had this problem with PSE9.
I have PS CS4 Extended 11. I have tried to open RAW (NEF) pictures from my NIKON D3100. I get the error message 'Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document'. I have tried downloading the latest update. I currently have Camera RAW Version 5.7.0.213. I have also downloaded the DNG converter but I still get the same error. I am using Windows 7 on a laptop.
I was always able to send photos from Photoshop 11 via the photo mail and they would arrive fully opened which was great. Now, when I send a photo it arrives not opened and if one clicks on "open" to open it, a notice says it cannot be opened because it is a zip file or a temp. file.
I'm working with both Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 on a mac. I'm creating a graphic. The background is a (cartoonish) mouth and I finished it a couple of days ago. (It's an Illustrator file.) I've been working on the letters to go inside of the mouth, (Once I'm finished it'll look as though they're being crushed.) I scanned and edited small wooden letters in Photoshop, and now I would like to work with them with the background in Illustrator. I understand how to open a Photoshop file in Illustrator, but I don't want to open the document as a separate Illustrator file. Is there a way to open a file from Photoshop as a second layer?
Some of the letters repeat as well. Will I have to create two files for this, or can I open the same file twice?
Adobe Photo shop elements is not user friendly. It is in fact the most difficult programme I have ever used.
I finally managed to watermark my files they have been saved but when I want to view them on my laptop in the normal windows view the thumbnail just shows the photo shop elements logo and I have to double click each file separately and they open in the edit programme. I want to open them and flick through my edited pictures without having to enter adobe photo shop elements and without having to open each one individually.
I'm trying to use GIMP to make a multilayered map of the dominican republic. It's a composite of topographic maps, road maps, rivers, etc. The problems I am encountering is that all of the pictures are different sizes. When I use the manual scale tool it is impossible to make everything line up perfectly and scale to the right size. As a result the roads, rivers, etc do not match up. Is there a way I can autoscale and autoalign two layers so the pictures fit perfecting over one another?
I'm using Gimp 2.8.6.Try as I might, I'm still trying to figure out how to effectively 'merge' 3 shots of the same scene taken at 3 different exposures (using the exposure bracketing feature on my camera). The idea is to end up with the equivalent of an HDR image.
I assume that I open the first image and then open the other two as layers . .
I want to work with more then one picture at the same time and I want to be able to open more pictures during my work. With version X3 I could switch between Manager and Edit to open more pictures. Now the program closes all opened pictures if I switch from "Edit" to "Manage". Is that as it should work now?
How can I open the browser inside the Edit area? I could not find a function or Icon to do that. I just found the possibility to use the function 'Dual Monitor'.
If I select the function 'Dual-Monitor' the program changes my selected setting (Thumbnail Mode) to Preview Mode and I cannot change it anymore. Is that as it should be or is it a bug? I want to work with Thumbnail mode and not with Preview Mode.
I have Dual-Monitor switched o and restart the program. Now the two tasks are not opened on my two screens. I currently see the Edit screen and cannot switch to the Manager. Even with the task manager I cannot switch to the Manager of PSP. When I closed the program after switching on Dual-Monitor I had both tasks on different screens and so I would have expected to get it with the next start of the program.
If I open more then one picture I get a task in the taskbar for each opened picture. That seem to be very strange for me. I do not have more then one task of the program. I have several opened pictures in own windows (not tabbed) in one program.
