Photoshop :: CS4 Extended 11 - Open RAW (NEF) Pictures From NIKON D3100
Jul 8, 2013
I have PS CS4 Extended 11. I have tried to open RAW (NEF) pictures from my NIKON D3100. I get the error message 'Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document'. I have tried downloading the latest update. I currently have Camera RAW Version 5.7.0.213. I have also downloaded the DNG converter but I still get the same error. I am using Windows 7 on a laptop.
I'm familiar with how to install a camera raw plugin for photoshop. However, I've had a difficult time finding the correct download link for the Nikon d3100 for ps cs4.Â
I have Lightroom 3 version 3.6 installed on my MacBook. I just upgraded to OS X10.8.2. Now when I try to import raw images from my Nikon D3100 camera I get images to preview but after I select images to import and then select "import" I receive error messages and then a notice that there are no images to import. The import function then totally shuts down.
I also just downloaded the most current version of Java Run. How do I fix this problem?
I am using Lightroom 4.4 on a 2013 MacBook Pro using OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.4. When importing RAW files from my Nikon D3100 they are getting disrupted and have coloured lines running either vertically or horizontally across them. I get it when i copy as DNG as well as just copying them as RAW files from my SD card.
I could not open RAW files from my Nikon D90 (saved as NEF files). So I just bought CS4 upgrade to see if I could overcome the problem. No luck. I also downloaded Camera Raw 4.4.1.85. I can see the file metadata -- showing that the files are NEF. But whenever I try to open one, I get the message:Â "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." Â This is the same message I got before when using CS2. I cannot attach an example NEF file because they are too large --- but tell me where to send one if needed...
I am trying to open raw photos from a Nikon D5100 in PS4. Cannot do it. I am told I need PS5. Must I purchase the PS upgrade (about $179) to CS5 or can I open the NEFs without additional purchase? If I need to purchase an upgrade, what exactly do I need to buy in order to view the images in PS and ACR?
I just purchased and installed Photoshop CS6 (64 bit) to use with my Nikon D800. However, I can't open the .nef (raw) files but the .jpg files from the same camera will open. What do I need to do to open .nef files from the D800?
I have PS CS5 and I recently updated my camera to a Nikon D600. I shoot in RAW and when I tried to open photos to edit, PS said I needed to update my Camera Raw plugin. I found the most recent plugin for CS5 and photos still won't open  What do I need to do to get them to work? Will I have to bite the bullet and update to CS6 or is there a way around it?
When I try to open raw NEF files from a Nikon D600 with Photoshop CS5 I get: "Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw"
Nikon D600, however, is among the camera models listed as compatible with Camera Raw CS5.
I have never had any problem in Camera Raw CS5 and older versions with raw NEF files from a Nikon D80 camera. Is there an update for CS5 to make it compatible with Nikon D600 raw NEF files?
I just purchased a Nikon D7000. Shot some RAW files and tried to download to iPhoto, not possible. SO, installed Nikon VIEW NX2, and Transfer 2. RAW images downloaded to my computer (late 2008 Macbook Pro, Leopard 10.5.8, Camera RAW plug-in 6) into ViEW 2. But showing the followiing format:  _DSC001.NEF Normally, it should read: DSC_001.NEF  SO within the Nikon software, I can work on the image, but I cannot export it into PS. It comes up with an error that the image format is unreadable. (Nor can I find how to get it out of VIEW NX2 , but that might just be my lack of reading all the info there, will see)  I contacted Nikon and they told me to change something in Image Capture in my MAC apps. I went there, but Image Capture was already set to the change they asked me to do.  I tried to download again, but same problem. I tried to download into iPhoto, in order to try and get it into PS, but it wouldn't. All files were unreadable. JPEG, however, does download, with both file formats, and opensin iPhoto and PS, whether there is a _ first or a letter first.  SO, I don't know what to do. I am assuming all my plug-in's are up to date.  My D70 RAW transfers fine!!! The D7000, not.  Any info out there??? Nikon has not replied back a second time when I responded to them.
Just purchased Photoshop CS2 and I haven't been able to open Nikon NEF (RAW) files from my Nikon D70s. The Camera RAW 3.0 plug-in is present in the Photoshop Plug-in directory. I get the error message, "Could not complete your request becuase it is not the right kind of document." I have NEF files from a Nikon D70 that open with out a problem. I can import the files without a problem with the bridge, but once I try to edit a file, I get the error message.
I have a mid-2011 Mini with 8 GB memory and a 1 TB 3rd party drive that I installed. It's the i7 processor, 2.7 GHz. All has been well for months now, until a week ago or so when I suddenly get these two messages upon trying to open PS: "Could not open a scratch file because the disk is not available," and "Could not open a scratch file because the disk is not available." I opened the machine yesterday to check the connector from the HD to the unit, put it back togther, and still no luck.
I have created a new PSD file and worked on it and finally saved the file, but now i can't open the file any more. PS always fails to open the file, because of an internal error.
I have tried to open some other PSD files, but 3 of 4 files (on my current HDD) didn't work to open and i don't know why. All of those other PSD files are at least 1 month old and PS could open these files. The last time i have opened these files was two weeks ago. The one PSD file, that worked has the following properties:
image: 1179x1528, 72ppi,8bit,RGB, 15,04 MB
and the files that don't work have the following properties:
I have got, the meta-data out of Adobe Bridge. I can see the preview Image and the thumbnails in the open-dialog of PS. I tried to open the file with other applications like Paintshop Pro and PhotoImpact and both couldn't open them. Paintshop Pro quits, because it doesn't support the "color model".
I don't know, what else i can do to open these files. I looked around the forum but couldn't find any solution for my problem.
I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 from CS5.X and I can not open RAW files in Camera RAW for my Nikon D800. It functioned properly in CS5 with the latest RAW release but won't work in CS6.
I just have bought new camera NIKON 3200 and I have Photoshop cs5. The problem is that I cant edit pictures RAW format in my Photoshop program cs5. I upgrade camera raw 6.7.0339 and it doesn't work.
I still cannot open RAW files shot by Nikon D800 in Photoshop, even with ACR RC 6.7 installed or even Photoshop CS 6 beta. Some seem to have succeeded by installing ACR RC 6.7.
Photoshop C5 won't open a picture taken from my Nikon D3200 Camera. Message says, "File appears to be from a model which is not supported by the installed version of camera raw." I bought the camera because it had CAMERA RAW.
installing and upgrading Photoshop Elements 9, I find it cannot recognize RAW files from Nikon D800E. Either don't load, or load just noise, no picture.
