The previews in the filmstrip stays until I select them and they are displayed and updated Any chance to get at least the small preview pictures in the filmstrip automatically updated?
Sometimes the filmstrip will not allow me to click and drag and change the order of pictures in the filmstrip. The pics are locked in place. It allows me to drag an image to a new position in the filmstrip but when I "unclick" the pic just moves back to its original position. Other times a black bar appears between the pics where I want to move the pic and I can rearrange the order of pics. I cant figure out why I can do this sometimes and sometimes the filmstrip wont allow me to change order.
Also, I can move pics in one file while not being able to move them in another. So it not some universal setting but seems to be file (catalog) specific.
I shoot in both cr2 (23 MB) and Small-jpeg. Afterwards I upload the pictures to Lightroom and have the appear in the catalog as one picture. Here I make all the editing and when I export the picture back to my harddrive as a jpeg I can only get a file of 3-500 kb. I know I have made some croping - but not that much. It is like Lightroom is working on the jpeg picture and not my cr2 picture.It may be a setting?

Why and how I might get rid of it? I used to get it in 4.3 and 4.1 too.
I have a batch of 25 drgs that need their revision letter updated then pdf'ed. Is there a method that can be adopted, where the drg sheets can be updated automatically, then batch printed into pdf's, without having to open the individual files?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt's my understanding that a change made to a disconnected smart preview will automatically update the main database when connected to the drive containing the photo and database. Mine doesn't seem to work automatically. After reconnecting i have to save the metadata for the changed files on the version of Lightroom with the samrt previews and then read the metadata on the primary version of Lightroom. Do both versions of Lightroom need smart previews installed? Should I use a certain procedure of which i'm not aware? I have an iMac for my main computer and a Mac Book Pro for the remote computer.

I was resolved to Ctrl-Click on the ones at the bottom filmstrip that I could 'see' that I had edited (about 15 out of a hundred) and then export to a subdirectory. Maybe someway to filter that bottom filmstrip to only the pictures I've edited/enhanced?

All my pictures are on it but I want to keep my originals only for the 4-5 stars rated, the one I keep working on, the one I'm suppose to export/print in bigger size than the smart preview (2540). I have a backup (backing up every 2-3 days) on an external drive of all my pictures. how I can "automaticly" select in the finder all the pictures that are not 4-5 stars rated and delete them from the laptop. As I said, the idea is to keep on the mac all the good pictures in original format and have all the others pictures in smart preview mode.
View 5 Replies View RelatedCurrently I'm converting one of our machines from AutoCAD to Inventor 2009.
This machine can vary from 1200mm to 1600mm and has a couple of options to choose from for our customers.
These dimension changes are all driven by a single excel file and the options are controlled in the an IAssembly.
Some of the 2D drawings will have a variable width, in our ERP system they are marked width dependable as followed: "partnumber/1200" or "partnumber/1410" in which 1200 or 1410 is the machine width.
Is it possible to have the 2D drawings automatically update the partnumber? so if I configure my machine as a 1200mm machine it automatically changes my drawingnumber to the actual machine width?
When you do a Save As or Save Copy As in Inventor the part number in the iProperties is automatically updated to match the new filename. I would expect the Document.SaveAs method in the API to act in a similar way. However I found out that this is not the case.
SaveAs: Document.SaveAs(filename, False) does not update the part number. The new part will still have the same part number as the original part. This can give problems since in the BOM parts with the same part number are interpreted as the same physical part.
SaveCopyAs: Document.SaveAs(filename, True) does work as expected and the part number will update correctly.
Is this a bug in the API? or is there a reasonable explanation for this?
Inventor 2013 SP2
After I successfully imported some videos into VideoStudio, I tried to preview them. Originally, the video preview was taking a quarter of the screen. It is still the case, but when I start playback, now the video size becomes half of this (half ot the quarter screen preview). I am searching since half an hour without any success for a solution. Google always return me PDF documents describing main features of Corel VideoStudio as well as reviews of the product. I thought this could be related to the fact project properties are set to output video at 480p, but I cannot set the project properties to HD. The HD option is just not there. Seems VideoStudio X6 Pro can only work for DVD projects and upconvert to HD after the fact. I found some page showing how to configure project as HD, but the layout of the options does not correspond to VideoStudio X6. Could this be because X5 had HD and X6 has not? Would be quite surprising. Seems I really have to ask support from Corel, seems an unknown undocumented issue, but I am now outside the 90-day warranty period and don't want to pay to be told to reformat my computer. So I will try other software, be pissed off during weekends and weekends and probably end up trying with another computer or asking a friend with a Mac to do the editing for me with Final Cut (and literally wait MONTHS to get a single 30-minute video).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the 2013 civil 3D version. I am doing a site plan for school, and would like to print it out so that everything shows up clearly.
I would like to print it on a 24x36 sheet, so I have set up my page to that size. When I maximize my viewport to the page borders so that the viewport is at its largest and scale the viewport so that the entire site plan fits in the viewport, everything shows up so small in the print preview screen. The annotations show up as black bars and I can only read them if I zoom in. I have limited access to printing so I want to make sure I get it right! Will I be able to read the annotations and hatching once it has printed? Even though I can't read them in the print preview or layout without zooming in?
I am using annotation scaling, so maybe my text height is wrong? Maybe I need a larger sheet than 24x36? My viewport and annotation scales are set to 1"=20' and box drawn around my site would be about 100' x 300'.
When ever I open up a jpeg image in CS 6 it is opening at 2% to sometimes .5% These files are fairly large 3 to 6 megs, and the image size are standard 10'' x 16" for example.
Is there a setting so I can view them at screen size when I open them so I do not have to make them bigger every time I open a new jpeg?
Does anyone know what is the name of the program that can put many small pictures into one big picture!

As a second question, for the pictures I want to make the background [usually a solid color, white] transparent so I can overlay one object with another.
How do I make just the background fully transparent, without affecting an object?
I have just upgraded to lightroom 4 and can not see the flags in the film strip. They are checked in the preferences as on, but they don't show. Also some folders say no photo selected in a folder, while there are photo's inside?
View 6 Replies View RelatedDownloaded LR4 this morning, backed up and upgraded the catalog. None of my photos appear in the Develop Module when I switch to that module from the Folders, though they appear when I switch from a Smart Collection, but not a standard Collection. It shows "No Photo Seclected". Regardless of where I switch from, no photos appear in the filmstrip in the Library or Develop module, though the location menu just above the filmstrip shows the correct number of photos in that particular folder. I'm on a late model iMac, OS 10.7.3, with 12 GB RAM.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have RAWs from my Panasonic GH3 and the files seen in Bridge (CC) oder ACR (8.1) are different in viewing angle compered to the same file opened in other RAW converters. It looks like they are cropped and somehow corrected. But I made no setup for this and can not change it. Sometimes a little bit more area is not bad and I want to access this area but with ACR I can´t.

i just upgraded the catalog to Lightroom 5 and i have exactly the same problem.
I just bought Lightroom 4 (student version) and fully registered it. After importing photos to the library, nothing appears in the filmstrip on the bottom of the screen. Do I need to turn something on to make them appear? It is making navigation much more difficult while developing (I can only view one image at a time while developing).
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen in Library mode I want to move around the filmstrip (at the bottom) when in Loupe View. The same can be said about being in Grid View. I am able to go to the next or previous slides with the arrow keys and by pressing Page-Up and Page-Down it jumps ahead/back 10 or slides. How do you jump to the first or last slide? When I push Home or End nothing happens. I thought it was supposed to jump to the first or last slide.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been working with a copy of lightroom 3.6 on a windows 7 machine. The problem I'm having is that I have a really hard time telling at a glance which images have the blue color label from the unlabeled grey ones. Is there any way for me to change either the background color of the filmstrip (like you can the background of the main workspace) or else change the hue/tone/saturation/whatever of the blue color label itself?
I know how to change the name of the label, but that doesn't visually differentiate between the two colors. The monitor is color calibrated, and I have the same difficulty on various monitors, so this is a physical limitation of my own, or a limitation of the program.
I'm running LR 4.1 RC and recently all the icons disappeared from the photos in the film strip at the bottom. I can no longer see star ratings, the icon for the quick collection, crop icon, or anything else. I did View Options (Right click) and everything is checked on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the filmstrip set to auto hide/show. As I browse through my library, I'll pick an image to work on in Develop. I may then want to work on an adjacent image. Instead of going back to the library to select it, I want to hover over the film strip and select the image that is 1 or 2 away from the current one.
When I first hover over the filmstrip, it shows my current location but then quickly slides to a different part of the strip. Usually no where near where I'm working. I haven't been able to determine a pattern. Sometimes it will go to the beginning, sometimes the end. Sometimes to an image I was working on the last time I closed Lightroom (if I am still in that folder).
I need the filmstrip to follow me as I move through a set of images.I don't remember having this problem in 3.x
