View 1 RepliesI have been using lightroom 3.4 and photoshop CS6 for sometime. However suddenly I cant move images from lightroom to photoshop (Ctrl+E) with the "Edit a copy with lightroom adjustment".
When I click this option, it opens the Photoshop. But doesnt open the image. However the other two options "edit a copy" and "Edit original" works fine.
Also when i add photoshop again as another external editor, it works fine. But as you all are aware this create another copy of the image.
What I did I checked the applications path for photoshop and it was correct. I uninstalled lightroom and reinstalled.
"save copy as" is no longer working as is "save as", what happened?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI don´t know why, but suddenly there seems to be no way, I can get edit in PS with LR adjustments. There used to be an options box in LR when selecting "edit in Photoshop". Now I get no options, and my adjustments from LR does not show in PS. I have tried both the tiff and PSD setting in preferences/external editing, but no luck. I have also used the "Reset Warnings" in LR, hoping this would bring back the external edit dialog box, but no luck.
as I have a lot of urgent work to do, and I go back and forth between LR and PS a lot.
Mac OS 10.8.5
Photoshop CS6 13.0.5 x64
Camera Raw 8.2.094
Lightroom 5.2
Why is it when I edit an image in lightroom 4 then go to retouch etc in photoshop cs5 those adjustements that I made on the image in lightroom ie contrast, saturation, exposure etc don't show up when I move the raw image into photoshop to do final retouching on the image but still have it in my lightroom catalog? It is the camera raw issue that comes up when you first try to edit an image and lightroom says it needs camera 7.0 which does't exist yet?

After selecting "Edit in CS5" I do not get the dialogue box asking if I would like to apply Lightroom adjustments.
Image opened in CS5 includes some adjustments from the Develop Module, but not the Transform Lens Corrections that I had applied.
using LR5.2, iMac, OS10.8.5
Suddenly LR no longer makes a copy when I select "edit a copy", for example "edit a copy with LR adjustments", in PSCC.
Instead, it sends the MASTER to PSCC.
In the case where I have done no editing in PSCC and simply try to close the PS edit window, I always have to click "Don't Save", whereas before this GLITCH in LR, PSCC would simply close the image since I had done no editing.
Don't know if these two things are related but I have used both for many years and this is the first time I have seen this problem.
I am using Lightroom 4.1 RC2 on a Windows 7 64 bit system with dual monitors. When I am in the develop mode and make edit adjustments on any setting the 2nd monitor does not update. If I move to another image then come back the image is updated but it does not work in real time. I have never had this problem before and it worked fine in Lightroom V4.0
View 2 Replies View RelatedI transfer my adjustments from lightroom to photoshop for additional editing. The adjustments show in the new Photoshop file. However, when I make a selection from that file and copy and paste it into a different Ps file, it does not show the adjustments. I even tryed saving the adjusted photoshop file as a jpeg and then opening it up and reselecting what I want.....Copy and paste it.....and the adjustments still don't appear on the different Ps file/photo. How can I keep the adjustments made in lightroom as a selection to copy and paste to a new file?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn LR 3.4 I had no problem applying this smart collection onto a specific folder from the library by simply selecting the collection and then pression CTRL (on windows) while I click the folder in question .. that would filter all those photos that I've edited in LR for that folder.
That isn't the case in LR 4.3.
Right now this smart collection is saying I've got 8683 such photos in the collection, and trying the above method to filter just those edited in a specific folder in the library, simply shows all 8683 photos from my entire library.
I'm running on LR 5.3, but this problem persisted in LR 5.2. Working in PS CS6 and Camera Raw 8.3. RAWs are NEFs from a Nikon D600.
I can't figure out what happened but suddenly I am not getting prompts when moving from LR to PS to "Edit Original" or "Edit a Copy".
I reset all dialog warnings and nothing. The prompt will appear for TIFFs but not for NEFs.
It's kind of pointless to not be able to choose to edit an original or copy with LR adjustments for a RAW when they are the file types that retain my RAW editing information.
Plus, when I do click on a NEF and choose to edit in PS without the prompt (it will appear with lightroom adjustments, not as original), it will open a second icon for photoshop on my dock, and prompt me to continue trial? I have a version of PS installed with the serial plugged in, and in LR "edit in PS" for a TIFF will open this primary version.
LR4 has a longstanding bug where it can no longer edit RAW files in Photoshop CS6.
Most (including me) appear to be using a work-around where a copy is made of the Photoshop CS6 executable and slightly renaming it. this is then plugged into LR4 as a third-party editor. A far from convenient or professional affair!
Why does the Adobe Labs ADOBE RAW beta not update RAW in LR4 but only CS6?
There is an apply auto tone adjustments checkbox in preferences, but it does not work properly. After checking it, some photos still require to click on auto button on the basic panel.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6 running on a Mac. I have the box checked to stack edited with originals.
I recently moved all of my photos to a an external Raid 1 drive - I did this within Lightroom, so that Lightroom knew where everything was. Everything seemed to be fine.
Today, I realized that after going to Photoshop and coming back into Lightroom, my photos are not stacking. Not only are they not stacking, but according to Lightroom they are not in the same folder, even though they are.
I am not working from a collection, I am working from the actual folder structure on the drive. If I go to photoshop, edit, save and come back, when it returns to Lightroom, where normally the new edited Tiff would pop up - now it returns a black screen, saying "no photo selected". If I go to the library module, the screen is still black. If I go the top of Lightroom and click on "All Photographs" the tiff file is there next to the picture. However, it is not stacked. If I try to stack it, it says that it can't stack photos that are stored in different folders.
I don't know where Lightroom is putting this Tiff file. The folder that I was editing from had 20 photos in it. I went into photoshop, came back with a tiff, and there are still only 20 photos in the folder, yet if I go up to all photos, it is there, so Lightroom put it somewhere.
When I go look at my external hard drive, the tiff file is there. It is right next the raw. In the same folder. So, it seems that Photoshop is putting it back in the right folder, but Lightroom is not.
We have a bunch of shots taken using natural light - the shots all have completely different exposure and white balance adjustments.
Now that the shots feel like they've been shot at the same time of day (and on the same day) we'd like to start adjusting the white balance accross multiple shots - but use the current white balance/exposure from each individual shot as the starting point - not reset the adjustments.
Kind of like baking the current settings or making adjustments on top of current adjustments - or make new adjustments relative to the current adjustments.
any editing I do in photoshop will now seem to need to be manually added to Lightroom...which I do not even want to contemplate. When I rightclick on an image and select Edit in --> Photoshop CS6, nothing happens...Photoshop does not open as it used to. I'd thought it might be Nik Collection trial or OnOne photo suite trial I'd installed, but I uninstalled both and restarted my computer, and the problem still exists. I'm using the current creative cloud version of both lightroom and photoshop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn LR4, when I edit in PS CS5 it automatically saves an edit copy. That did not happen in LR3. Am I missing a preference so that doesn't happen?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems as though after updating to version 3.3, my "edit in photoshop" functionality has stopped working. When I choose this option, Photoshop will open, but Lightroom does not bring up a dialog for exporting the photo, nor do I see a progress bar in lightroom for exporting of the photo as I used to.
I can (and have) create a user preset for exporting to accomplish the same functionality
I just applied the Lightroom 5.3 and Camera Raw 8.3 updates and now am no longer able to open RAW or DNG files into Photoshop CC. When I select a file and choose "Edit In" Photoshop, photoshop will launch, then nothing will happen. After 2 to 5 minutes, an error will popup in Lightroom saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CC could not be launched." An error I've never seen before. When I click "Ok", Lightroom will show that it's "preparing a file for editing" in the upper left, it will create and save a psd to disk and in the catalog (another new behavior), then it will open in photoshop. All other file types (jpgs, tiff, psd) seem to work/open fine between applications. No difference if I open photoshop prior to selecting "Edit In". Selecting "Edit In" other applications, like Viveza, work fine.
I tried first deleting preference files in both applications. No luck. Ditto for plugins. Notta. Eventually I completely uninstalled and fresh installed Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge from the cloud. Same deal...can't open raw/dng files into Photoshop.
I'm on a PC running Windows 7 64bit.
I have the new Canon 5D Mark III, and I updated to Lightroom 4.1 so I can import the 5D3 RAW image into LR. But when I go to "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS5" or "Merge to HDR Pro in PhotoShop", PS starts, but it doesn't load any files. I was assuming this is because the PS Camera Raw is out of date. So I downloaded the cameraraw6-7_r1_win_030612, but when try to install it, I get "Some updates failed to install. Update is not applicable".

Am not aware of having changed anything between it working fine and not.
Rebooting (Win Vista) and restarting LR made no difference.
For some reason when I clip an adjustment to a layer, it doesn't work. Before I clip it though, it works fine, it's only when I clip it to a specific layer, it just instantly removes the adjustment and fails to work. (By this I mean it looks like everything is working fine, with the exception that nothing has changed.) For example, I add a brightness adjustment to a photo, but as soon as I clip it to a layer it just reverts back to before and the layer is clipped. Any adjustments I make while it is clipped doesn't work.

Suddenly when a raw image has been porcessed by the Develop Module the (ctrl-E) 'open in Photoshop' command does not work for that image. It works for images that have not been 'developed'.
I have deleted LR preferences several times.
I have upgraded to LR5.2RC and CR8.2RC.
As far as I remember this catalog was new as LR5.
I was working on a document, with rounded rectangle shapes. I was able to edit them in the properties panel. Photoshop crashed. I restarted Photoshop. After reopening, the document was recovered
But now I can no longer edit the rounded rectangles. The properties panels looks different and the options are gone. What happened? What can I do to bring them back?
