View 1 Replies View RelatedI have multiple edits and collections of the same photos.... the problem is they are in different calalogues. I find myself in this situation because I mistakenly opened and worked within backup catalogues.
I'm now wanting to,
a) merge all my catalogues under a single master catalogue,
b) preserve the edits and cataloges I've created,
c) not create a mess of duplicate photos in the new master catalogue.
I've bought Light room 5 10 days ago. Last week, I've created several catalogs. Today, when I try to open recent catalogs, I don't fin them anymore.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from LR2 to LR3. I was not prompted to convert my catalogues even though I have read I should have been. Now what? I have two programs on my computer. I want all catalogues in the new LR3 program.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got two large catalogs (one business, one personal) that work perfectly fine in LR4.4, but when I try to upgrade them to LR5 I get the error, "Lightroom couldn't update the format of its catalog file because the file appears to be damaged."
The catalogs sure don't seem damaged as they work perfectly in LR4.4. I've been able to update a few small single-shoot catalogs, is this a known problem with updating large catalogs (65k photos in one, 180k in the other)?
I have recently downloaded the latest Lightroom 4 update to my mac, which is Lightroom 4.3 and now I am unable to import any images into my catalogues.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just installed Lightroom 4 and want to get started by setting up more than one catalogue but I am not sure if you have to have one catalogue for every photo in addition to the separate catalogues I want for subsets of photos. Can I just go ahead and make several catalogues and sort my photos (which are on my hard drive) into them without making a catalogue that references every photo? Maybe it's a good idea to have one complete catalogue as well in order to make it easier to find that missing photo? Also I have read that it is a good idea to store catalogue files in a separate folder in the root, which appeals to my sense of organisation, but do I need to make separate sub-folders for my individual catalogues or can they just all go into the one folder? Can't wait to get started!
View 14 Replies View Relatedi have all my raw photos (many1000's) and many lightroom 4 catalogs on my apple time capsule 2TB drive. my new mac book pro only has a 256GB solid state drive. but I have 16gb ram and quad core processor. I get an error message when I try to open a catalog complaining that I can't open catalogs on a network drive. all professional photographers can't possibly only use local drives. since network or external drives have existed for 20+ years, I don't get it. what am I doing wrong. very sad. have lots of work to do. i have the drive connect to my computer with a cat5 cable. it is also accessible wirelessly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to move my cataolgs from one external HD to another, but when I open a catalog the images are missing. I know my original images are stored in one place and the catalog is stored in another. Shouldn't the images be found if they are all on the same HD?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading from LR4.3 to 5 all existing GPS data are lost. Also new RAW NEF photo's don't show the GPS data. The old files in 4.3 were .dng converted NEF files. All these data missing in thousands of photo's is frustrating to say the least.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI a thinking of upgrading my LR to the new 5. I was able to try Irdient new upgrade for X-Trans and my file are so much more crisp and detailed then they are in LR with your support for the X-Trans. Are you going to upgrade you support to match those of Irdient. I am sure you have read the reviews and have used the product for your own edificaiton. If you are not, I may have to switch, my business depends on my best product.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just installed LR4 having previously been using LR3. I went to import some new images and my import presets (such as metadata to insert copyright info) are no longer there. How do I restore these (and potentially other presets I've yet to discover missing) painlessly and quickly? I thought upgrading my catalog would carry this information into LR4 but it would seem not.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded to Lightroom 5 and when photos imported from lightroom 4 they are no longer organized they way they were in lightroom 4. They were organized by year and month, now they are all in one folder with no organization. Is there a way to change this setting to autmatically organize on import by year and month. I can't find my older pictures in lightroom.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i try to delete a file from LR using the delete from disk option the file does not so up in my trash. I have deleted 200 bad files and the never showed up in the trash. I have been trying to clear up some disk space but the available disk still shows the same so I know they haven't been deleted. Am using Lion on a MacBook Pro 15 and am fully updated. Am I doing something wrong?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have LR 4.3, Camera Raw 7.3
Until yesterday I was able to delete pictures, using the contextual menu or the delete key. I got the message asking me if I wanted to delete them from disk or from the catalog.
But now, that popup message doesn't appear. The picture is not removed, just nothing happens.
I checked the logs and this is the error message:
performCommandDesc could not perform command ag.library.expandAllStacks (Command was disabled.).
I uninstalled LR moving it to the trash. Then I deleted the com.adobe.Lightroom4.plist and I also removed the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom.
I rebbooted the machine and installed it again. But the issue is still there, with the same error message.
I verified the disk and checked file permissions.
I also tried to use another catalog from a backup.
Nothing, same error.
One anusual thing that I did before the error was to install the "HDRsoft Merge to 32-bit HDR Plug-in for Lightroom - Version 1.0"
I removed it but the error was still there. After the re-install I didnd't install that plug-in again so if it was the problem, it shouldn't be after the clean installation that I did again.

I am currently using LR 3 and am in the middle of editing a full wedding. Should I wait until I've edited the wedding before I upgrade or will all of my saved edits transfer from LR 3 to 5?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Lr4 calalog has all my color labels but when upgrading that calalog to Lr5 - all color labels on images are stripped and I see the label default (Red - Delete, etc)
I went into the Roaming - Adobe - Lightroom folder and found "Label Sets" but I fear what is in there is the Lr5 stuff
Question: How can I get all my Lr5 catalog images to have the same color labels as my Lr4 catalog?
How can I merge two or more catalogues into one? I wood like to add the content of a onel catalogue to another one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created several photo catalogues on my PC using Photoshop Elements 7. I have now moved to a Mac computer. I have imported my photos tom my new computer, and into iPhoto. However I would like to continue organising and editing them with Photoshop Elements. To this end I intend to purchase the Photoshop Elements for Mac software. However if I do this how to I move the catalogue (and stack details) for my photo collection to the Mac?
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe process should be an easy one -- BUT, my new copy of Elements 9 does not list under the FILE column, anything that looks like or works like "Catalogue".
Instead of the listing as per the Adobe tutorial as follows: FILE (then) Get Photos & Videos, (or) New, (or) Open recently edited in Editor, (or) Catalogue
My new software lists the following: FILE (then) New, (or) Open, (or) Open As, (or) Open recently Edited File, (or) Duplicate.
[No sign of Catalogue to be found anywhere -- hence impossible to transfer files/catalogues.]
Note: I use elements for its catalogue function with Photoshop CS5 and Bridge CS5. New camera required updated RAW-read ability from the old Elements 5.
I have a lot of photos with the same name in two format: raw+jpg. Is it possible to delete only those jpg when photo is in raw+jpg ?
