I am a Canon shooter but received some raw Nikon files from a fellow photographer. We've done this before and I've had no problems with his files - well, we have done this a number of times but before I used LR 4 (i.e., in LR 3 and before). With this batch, when I start cropping, the image gets stretched vertically, but is fine when I hit enter to commit the crop.
I just upgraded to Lightroom 4.1 and now (when in Develop) all my 16x9 shot photos from my Olympus Pen are stretched vertically or squeezed looking. Any check box I'm not checking?
I am trying to crop and straighten my 35mm slide scans. When I imported the scans the average file size was 5mb but after cropping and straightening the scans in lightroom 5 and exporting them, the average file size was 15mb! There is no increase or decrease in quality.
I must have dreamed this but I thought I saw that LR 5 had the ability to create a cropping overlay from an image. My goal is to create a quicker way to place a date on 5x7 and wallets so that it works for both prints. I want WHCC's wallet guide as an overlay.
I tend to always have a few pictures in rotation that I end up cropping multiple times when I am printing. Pictures where today I need to print a 4x6 and tomorrow it's a 5x7 of the same picture, etc. I am trying to figure out a way to save the file with that cropping. Ideally there would be a way that if I also modified anything else in the image that would also show up in the other versions. I know there is Create Virtual Copy, and that could work if I could then figure out how to change the file name so it would show that it was cropped for 5x7 or whatever.
I want to crop an image visually, by sliding the cropping bars by eye. Not by typing in a specific size. How do I do that? My cropping tool seems to be set on some dimension. I've "reset" it, tried recropping from the "original" but still when I move the top horizontal bar in the cropping tool, it automatically is moving the vertical sides. As if a preset size/dimension/ratio is applied to it. Although I didn't apply any such dimension.
In LR 4, I have created a virtual copy for the purpose of cropping, but when I crop it in Develop, the original image is getting cropped as well. Have I misunderstood something?
in my requirement image should be 951x211 pixels. i have made that but when i put into my web page as a banner the image was stretched however all the other image banner has the same size(951x211) but not stretched as the one i edit..how can i re-size to prevent my image and text stretched.
I've been trying to use photomerge to create a panoramic. However, it keeps trying to create a vertical panoramic out of horizontally oriented images and then reports an error about being "unable to align" the images. I'm using CS6 extended 64 bit with Windows 7. I've tried auto, reposition, perspective, and the other settings separately all with no luck.
I'm using LR 4.3, and would like to know how to determine which .dat cache files are associated with a certain folder of images. I don't know programming code, and, when I open a .dat cache file, I cannot determine which image file it goes with.
I've noticed that when I remove a folder from Lightroom, the cache files for the images in that folder remain, because the size of the cache doesn't change. I know I can flush the cache, but I don't want to have to reload tons of .dat files already present in the cache.
Photoshop 6. If I crop an image in photoshop 6 it becomes a 'layer'which I then need to 'flatten' before saving as a jpg file. How do I stop this happening?
when I crop a picture and I want to move te framework to make a good crop, the picture oves, not he cropping-framework. I expect it is just 1 little adjustment, but I can't find it...
I have this picture and i want to crop out certain area of the image. is it me or is it the crop tool that cannot do a free resizing, like the FREE TRANSFORM TOOL (CTRL+T).. From what i see, i can only edit the croping picture by clicking the Perspective check box. Is it normal ? Another problem is that the picture instead of resizing to the size of the croped measurements, it takes the original 1024 x 768 length and width and fills up that size.. in other words the cropped imaged maxmise itself to fit the whole original size pic.. i was quite sure this didnt happen when i was using Photoshop 7..
i'm trying to cut out apicture of a guy from a back ground. the trouble is it's very hard to do due to hair etc.
how important is it to knock out as much background as possible. i've done this sort o fthing before with fantastic results, but this image is really tricky
I sent a DNG from LR to PS with the "open as smart object in Photoshop" command and after I cropped it in ACR ... the result is in the following image:
It is not cropping canvas .nSo does this mean that we can not use ACR in PS for cropping smart object files?
I've got about 200 photos that need to be re-cropped from 720x486 to something smaller. Is there a way to do this to the entire lot with a single command?
Is it possible to use the crop tool but have an image fill overlay instead of a grid overlay? I do a lot of photo editing where the image has to be in certain boundaries but also has a complicated background, and I'd like to reduce a step.
When using the crop tool, and I expand the cropped area outside the original image, the image disappears and the area turns white. How do I turn what ever "feature" this is off?
My camera (Canon HV30) captures a larger image than what displays in the viewfinder. So after downloading the footage, I realized that there was some clutter around the edges I didn't see in camera.
I've been trying to find a way to "crop" the image to get rid of the clutter. I don't want the overall size reduced, just the image zoomed in to fill the frame without clutter.
Recently I have started to get in to photography with my digital camera. I have noticed that if you rotate a jpeg 90 degrees or whatever that the file size goes down.
Two times in the last 15 minutes Photoshop CS has caused my Mac to crash.
It happens when I try to crop an image. I am trying to crop a .tif using the crop tool constrained to the proportion of 720x480 at 300ppi.
A few weeks ago Photoshop CS was telling me that my scratch disks were full and wouldn't allow me to crop. I checked the scratch disk designation in the preferences of Photoshop CS and it was totally fine... 27 gigs of room, which should be MORE than enough.
