After I position a crop on an image it keeps moving up, to the top of the image, after I deselect the image. I did use the upright functionality at first but turn it of to do it manually. Maybe this feature has left some settings in the LR develop settings for this image. I could post some screenshots if that will work.

I downloaded the free CS2 version from the Adobe website.
I am trying to create a watermark for my images.
I have followed several tutorials to a point where I am ready to crop my watermark and set as a defined brush.
I select the crop tool, and go to select the text and the text disappears. If I go ahead and retry to select an area...then the crop tool actually works, but my text is gone.
The other thing is, my text is in what I would describe as a "free selection lasso" meaning the text isnt in bold, but rather has a floating edge around it.
Selecting (in grid view) dragging and dropping image to a new folder copies, not moves image. I want image gone from first folder. It works like that sometimes, but not all athe time.

ok ,it's just like lightroom i tried to get used to the new behavior with no luck is there a way , edit the registry or other way to change this behavior? i mean i really love the new crop feature , i would love to use it and drag the crop to left and see photoshop moves to the left just like every other version of photoshop

View 5 Replies View RelatedI use [k] to get me into local adjustments, and [z] to zoom in, how I can pan around without deselecting the local adjustments (which loses which local adjustment I have selected). I tried [fn]+[arrow key] without any luck. This is very disruptive for me.

So I'm cropping to a square, but I want the crop to extend off the image area because I want to replace the missing bit in photoshop. This effectively makes the image bigger than the original. the only way to achieve the same effect is to scale the image, that keeps the pixel dimensions the same but effectively reduces the size of the image.
is there a way to crop beyond the image bounds?
in dummy terms, how to crop a image for print. If I have a image that I have cropped, and I want to print a 4X6 and a 8X10, how do I crop it so parts of the edges do not get cut off?

An example would be a taking a crop of one person in a couple,from a larger image. The crop is outside common aspect ratios. I want to crop an image visually, by sliding the cropping bars by eye. Not by typing in a specific size. How do I do that? My cropping tool seems to be set on some dimension. I've "reset" it, tried recropping from the "original" but still when I move the top horizontal bar in the cropping tool, it automatically is moving the vertical sides. As if a preset size/dimension/ratio is applied to it. Although I didn't apply any such dimension.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLet me start by describing my needs. I need to generate proofs for my shoots. I'd like to export images with different aspect ratios for target devices, ie iPad, Android phone, 16:9 TV, etc. What would be really great is if I can select a named "crop setting" in the export window and generate JPGs based on the chosen setting. I've searched all over the place, all seem to talk about presets, virtual copies, etc, which really doesn't address what I want.
Fundamentally I'd like to be able to save a handful of crop settings (unique crops but with common names) for each image. I will create the crops manually as I have to pick the position and size for each carefully. For example, on a 4000x6000 image I have these crop settings (for a fairly small area of the image):
1. iPad [settings: top-left coordinate (500,500), ratio 4:3, width2000]
2. Android [settings: top-left coordinate (500,400), ratio 8:5, width 2400]
3. HDTV [settings: top-left coordinate(500,450), ratio 16:9, width 2200]
As you can see each crop is different becasue I want to be precise about how the cropped outputs look. Then at export time, I want to be able to multi-select a bunch of images and pick say "iPad" crop setting to create the JPGs in a batch.
Is there a custom plugin outside of Lightroom that can handle this?
Is it possible to either print or save an image that shows the crop lines from Lightroom (i.e. shows what is both in AND out of the image as it is cropped). I'm working off a scanned negative and I want to show my printer just how to crop the image. She was hoping to see both what's inside and outside the crop? Possible to get that to her either by printing that from my computer or emailing it to her?

I've been a casual user of Illustrator for many years, but have only used it at its most basic level. Now I need to begin using it more extensively to develop logos and what-have-you, and it seems that Murphy's Law has gone into effect... now that I need to use it, something has gone amiss.
I've been through Deke McClellands beginner training for AI CS4 and CS6, and I seem to recall this problem being addressed somewhere in that training -- but I can't find it.
So here's the problem:
After I draw a shape, any shape, and then click to reposition it on the artboard, when I release the mouse it snaps to a nearby location.
The shape doesn't stay where I want it to stay.
Smart Guides, Snap to Grid and Snap to Point are turned off.
Preferences > General > Keyboard Increment is set to 0.2 px.
I am having troubles plotting out of paper space. In my drawing i have an aerial photograph (inserted as a raster image) that has been scaled, rotated and shifted onto the relevant co-ordinate system. I have a locked viewport and when i zoom in or out the photo 'jumps' around in a random fashion, same when i hit plot preview it appears out of place. I was wondering what could be causing this because i thought that paper space was simply 'viewing' whatever was in model space not being physically able to shift objects.

When returning to LR, it has moved behind the task bar which is fixed on the left on my screen. Since the file menu is then covered by the task bar I have to shut down LR frequently via the task bar. This only happens with LR. I am using LR 3.4 on Win 7 Prof 64bit on a Sony notebook.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm new to lightroom but have watched all the tutorials on the Adobe site. I imported photos going back to 2002 and have been reorganizing them within Lightroom. I've been organizing in new 'year' folders, and moving photos and folders into these new folders, then I've been removing the old folders. So in lightroom I now have nice neat folders 2002-2009 on my Mac hard drive, and 2010-2013 in my Box sync folder (also on hard drive but syncing to Box online). The trouble is, the moves haven't been reflected on the Mac itself. When I look in Finder, the folders are broadly as they were before I started moving things.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running Lightroom 4.1 on two Macs, both running 10.7.4. On one of the machines the Alt/Option key does not work properly in the Develop module.
When I hold down the Alt/Option key and move the Exposure or Blacks slider I expect to see the clipping display. Instead this action moves the whole of the sidebar of the user interface. I can move it to any place on the screen and off the edge of the screen. Clearly this should not be possible.
The problem machine has a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet attached, so I have tried updating the Wacom drivers, and also removing the Wacom software completely. Neither solves the problem. My other Mac does not exhibit this problem.
I'm putting together a series of images, and I want the horizon line to be a constant from image to image, though they were not that way in the original files. I'm assuming that I should go with the picture that has the smallest distance from the bottom of the picture and then crop the others so the distance appears to be the same in them as well. But is there a way to make that a simple process?

Also, is there a way so transform (scale, rotate, etc) a path? I know I could turn it onto a selection first, but I usually need to edit the path itself afterwards.
