View 2 RepliesI have a question about photoshop cs6 crop tool not classic i really like the not classic crop tool but i have a problem the classic crop tool if i drag it to left photoshop moves the crop to the left , and if i drag to the right it moves to the right but in the new version if i drag it to the left it moves to the right
ok ,it's just like lightroom i tried to get used to the new behavior with no luck is there a way , edit the registry or other way to change this behavior? i mean i really love the new crop feature , i would love to use it and drag the crop to left and see photoshop moves to the left just like every other version of photoshop
I have made 15 moves in crop mode ( photoshop ) and i can't get original file back, how can i get back from crop mode.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter I position a crop on an image it keeps moving up, to the top of the image, after I deselect the image. I did use the upright functionality at first but turn it of to do it manually. Maybe this feature has left some settings in the LR develop settings for this image. I could post some screenshots if that will work.
View 29 Replies View RelatedIn the old days, one could just use the crop tool and, while drawing crop lines, check the perspective box if you found that you needed to change the perspective. With CS6 if you start with the crop tool, and find you want to change the perspective, you have to change tools to the new perspective crop tool. In the process, you have to tell the newly opened dialog box that you don't want to crop, to get to the perspective tool, which now has reset to its defaults. You've lost your cropping and you have to start over.

The image size is sometimes a full 2 inches off of what you set as a crop?! I havn't run into this before
[I do know you can use the drop down box and use {size and resolution} but I want to know why it doesnt work under custom and unconstrained]

Now I paste the image, select the layer, choose the Move Tool and the layer selection jumps to another layer and that one gets moved. (CS5)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have CS2 on Windows XP. For some reason (probably operator error) I can no longer move the Rectangular Marquee Tool in a fixed size mode arond my picture. When I expand it to, for example, 8.5" x 11" it just sits there.
I used to be able to expand it, then move it about the photo until I got it where I wanted to do the crop.Does anyone have any ideas what has happened? Also I notice that the crosshairs now have a little bar in the lower right quadrant when I roll my cursor on the photo. Not sure if that is significant.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am missing a crop tool which can rotate the crop rectangle. Similar to photoshop's tool. I found no way to rotate the crop rectangle in gimp. How do you cut out something from an image if it needs to be rotated while cropping? I tried rotating first then cropping but it does not give me enough precision so I end up with transparent areas at the border.

View 3 Replies View RelatedTry to move an object and it does not stay fixed to the move tool cursor, but instead it accelerates off in the direction I initially tried to move it..... but in a sliding inertia type multiplied movement. Have I selected a different mode for the move tool by mistake?
I've checked the pivot point of the object I was trying to move and it was located centrally, nothing strange there.
Also, after the object has wizzed off the screen, pressing undo or [ctrl+z] won't bring it back to it's original location. The undo option is greyed out in the edit menu, suggesting that nothing has been saved in maxs undo history.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using the crop tool without any knowledge of the little boxes you can fill in to restrict its WxH dimensions. I always wanted my crops to come out at a 2:3 ratio and could never get them perfect since I was just eyeballing it.
So then I found the WxH controls and if I put "2 in" for width and "3 in" for height, my image will come out as desired, no scaling of the image, but with the unfortunate side effect that my DPI has been changed, which causes problems for me later on. Now if I put "2 in" x "3 in" and then specify 72dpi in the "resolution" field, it will actually scale my image which is not what I want either. Now if I put "2 px" by "3 px" of course it will massively scale my image, which again is not what I want.
What I want is to re-crop my image to a 2:3 ratio, WITHOUT scaling, AND without modifying DPI. Is this possible with the crop tool? It seems that my WxH numbers are required to have units after them and I don't want any of those units (inches, px, mm, etc). I want unitless cropping, basically cropping by ratio. Does this make any sense?
I have a work-around which involves batch resetting all my DPI's at the end of the session. But that adds another step to my workflow which is not a very elegant solution.
When working with the pen tool and paths is ps7...Did you notice if you make a curve and fill it with a color the bended parts are so jagged? even though the anti aliasing is on...

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm a keen amateur on the computer and run my own construction company. We currently have a steel ruler as our logo, but I'm trying to get a spiral staircase also. Not sure if two logo's is allowed; the steel ruler has our company name imprinted on it and I thought it was cool way to display our name. Probably severley faultered from a pro.
Was hoping to find some vector art of a helical staircase but not much out there. So we made a couple of beautiful helical stairs for a client, and I'm trying to trace that and use it as our logo also.
I'm tracing it in vector art because we have a Roland GX24 vinyl cutter and I'm making my own banners etc.
I have three queries:
1: The pen is showing up some strange invisible paths which only appear in the plugin cutstudio (where I haven't closed the paths off I presume?). How can I get the paths to be as drawn?;
2: When I go to cut this, the vinyl cutter will treat the paths as single slices. This design will be as if drawn, so I will want a way of creating two paths to the strokes, probably 2mm width apart. That will then leave a piece of vinyl 2mm in width so when I peel off, the vinyl will stay there; like a pen stroke of a handwritten drawing.
3: What snapping should I be using? I've always had problems with points or paths not being snapped together perfectly. The cutter will end up cutting some of the other adjoining 2mm vinyl and after time this will cause the vinyl to peel off.
I used to use the pen tool for quick shape paths - like a circle, but can't find anyway to do it in CS6.
View 2 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop CS5 - Working with the pen tool is something I do a lot but it is such a pain because I can barely make the lines out sometimes. It can get so bad that my eyes hurt. I found, adding an adjustment layer and changing the level. This kind of works but I find it difficult to believe that they can't be made more visable. Turning off the anti-aliasing hasn't seemed to have made any difference either.
Is CS6 any better?
Since version CS it was very easy working with paths with the direct selection tool. I just upgraded to Photoshop CC, and noticed this annoying bug:
When I select and anchor point using the Direct Selection Tool, I can no longer de-select it clicking inside the shape. This is so frustrating when working with icons.
I used to grab the Path Selection Tool to select the entire vector shape, then I switched to the Direct Selection Tool if I wanted to modify a specific anchor point. All I needed to do was clicking inside the shape, then select the anchor point I wanted to work with. Now if I switch from the Path tool to the Direct Selection one, if I click inside the shape it doesn't deselect anything, if I click on an anchor point, it doesn't deselect the other anchor points. I figured out that if I click on the path of a different vector shape, then I can go back and select an anchor point on the vector shape I was working with, but it's too much work for de-selecting a point.Is it a bug or a new way Photoshop CC behaves?
In pervious versions of photoshop you could make a path with the pen tool and press esc to basically deselect the path without closing it. This would also allow you to make multiple paths so that you could keep making lines and then stroke them all at once. This no longer works with photoshop CC. Pressing esc just deselects the path but when you try to start a new path it continues the first one. Is there anyway to get this feature back in CC? It is such a waste of time to stroke individual paths instead of drawing all the lines with the pen tool and stroking them all at once.

I've been using the pen tool for almost a month now… I'm actually getting pretty good with it now, mainly using it to make my selections more precise… I haven't even bothered to try to draw with it, yet…
Anyway, I was already kind of sleepy when I started to outline the chopper with the pen tool… I got pretty tired & saved what I have done into a PSD. In Illustrator I know it would probably save my anchor points…
When I click on my Path palette, I can see some of my outline… But, the rest of it is filled in with white as a shape…With all of that said, in Photoshop… Is there anyway I can pick up where I left off tracing the nice Harley-Davidson?
Or… Do I have to start all over?
I already tried to use the Direct Path tool & Direct Selection Tool… My anchor points remain hidden.
Ever since I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and started to use the new crop tool, I get this quite interesting visual error and some artifacting.
I didn't have the problem with the crop tool in the previous versions of Photoshop.
