For some reason today it just stopped paying the audio from my Nikon D300S video files. I tried importing a new file but that won't play either and I reloaded the program and that won't work either. I know the audio is that as it will play in Windows.

Photoshop CS6 Extened won't play or process Dolby Digital (AC-3) Audio Files from my AVCHD video files.The video plays fine just no sound at all. When processed still no sound. Are there any (AC-3) audio codecs I can download and install. How would I install them. Do I need to convert audio files to another format & if so how & what format.

but it shows video frames, when I hover mouse from left to right edge of item in LibraryGrid view. Seems like output of "Loupe" for video is broken and play control (scroll and buttons) is disabled. Have tried LR 5.0 and LR 5.2 RC.
Quick time 7.7.4 plays this files perfectly.

We just did a :30 commercial spot and delivered it to several outlets for regional broadcast. Most of them accepted our compressed output just fine (an H.264 QT, 1080 @ 29.97, PCM audio) but one outlet kept rejecting the file for being TOO LONG. We measured the file in several programs on the Mac (AE, FCP, QT 7, QT X) and it always came up as exactly 30 seconds every time. Even AE pegged it at 899 frames, so we definitely weren't over.
AUDIO was running long, not the video. He sent us a screenshot from Vegas Pro (I guess their system is all PC-based) and it showed the video stream at :30.00 and the audio stream at 00:30:29 -- nearly a full second longer than the video! How could this happen? I always thought the length of each stream was identical, so why woudl the audio come out slightly longer?
One clue: the actual AIFF file used in the output comp is itself 00:31 long. I shortened it in the composition to fit within the time, and every setting for 'Duration' that I know of was set for 00:30, but it's like it just ignored the duration on output of the audio and exported the entire length of the track into the audio stream.
Here's my workflow -- I did use other programs to make the file so maybe something else is the culprit:
Finish in AECS6, render out to ProRes 4444 Master @ 23.98; re-import the file and drop into 29.97 comp to correct the frame rate for broadcast, render out to another 4444 Master file @ 29.97; dropped that into Apple Compressor to make H.264 file with PCM audio.
the audio does not work on any of my video files, now that i have upgraded to LR4; the audio for these files works fine in LR3; audio is working with slideshows in LR4.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLlightroom 4.4 crashes everytime I try to playback video causing the app to close. The video loads fine, I can see the thumbnail, but when I hit play I hear audio for a few seconds, the video doesn't typically play or plays for only 1 second then the app crashes. Video files play fine in quicktime or Windows media. This happened in 4.3 as well so not related to the upgrade to 4.4. Here is what is logged in the Windows error log.

I have a video file, I have an audio file. Video is loaded in the video track, audio in the Voice track.
HOW in the ... do I sync them? I have the mixer on, I can see the wav graphics, I can see where I want them to line up but either the Video track must slide forward ( and it won't, it's locked on 0 ) or the audio track must slide backward (but it won't slide below 0 start) I've tried splitting, clipping... I can't get it cut just right. All I want is time frame 0 for the video to start at positive time frame within the audio.
I started a Premiere Pro CS5 project on my PC at work. Video files played both audio and video, life was good. Unfortunately my PC at work is slow, so I want to continue working on the project on my home PC. Uploaded the needed files with Sugarsync, went home, but when I open the project here all the video files only play audio.
So I know the files CAN display video, so it must be something to do with my home computer and CS5 install? I tried reinstalling PP CS5, no change. Is there a setting I may have accidentally disabled at home to force audio only?
I can't get my avi video files to play in LR. I could be wrong but I thought they worked just fine in LR 4. Can't find the preferences menu that would list what program controls which file extension in LR.

Playing YouTube videos, and tutorials, also work correctly (audio on the HDMI).(The audio is output from the laptop speaker, and the 3.5mm jack.)

Can I extract the audio from a video clip and if so how and how can I convert it, if necessary into an Audio Interchange File Format, so that I can export it to a program such as Audacity for removing background wind noise before importing the Audio back into the videoStudio project.
I have tried using all the audio filter functions in VS to remove the background noise, to no avail.

So I have video that I imported from my SDHC card in high def, it played fine until I started adding a crossfade and a couple of slow motions. Now, every video had no sound. I have tried deleting them and bring them back in, but still no sound. It will play music over the tracks, but I have lost all my original sound. I thought I would be able to add some music and lower the original soundtrack at certain points, letting it fade in and fade out, allowing for the original audio to play through and along with the music. I am pretty dissapointed right now and need some answers. Also what happened to the moving menus? I am confused with the templates as well... begininng, middle end or complete. Is that instead of moving menus? Can I not make a moving thumbnail menu with music and chapters?
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe following didn't eventually cause me a problem since I have retained some earlier versions of VS. Normally, starting way back with VS version 8, I've happily downloaded avi files from my handicam, edited them and made nice home movies on DVD, worth watching even by non-family .
But now I've just been given a couple of mpeg-4 files (total time of 1 hr 20 min or so) to turn into a nicely edited DVD (it's an orchestral concert). If I insert the files into the timeline in either X5 and X6, the audio doesn't sound when I try to play either the project or the clip. Do the same with X4 and things work perfectly, audio comes through loud and clear. So I've used X4 for the task, I kept it on my computer.
An additional task was to make an audio CD - no sweat, I just created a sound file (in the "share" tab) with X4 and went from there. Trying to do the same with either X5 and X6 caused the software to crash with an error message.

I've created a slide show and have attempted to insert an audio mp3 file. Audio file shows that it has been added to slide show but it wil not play.
I've added the mp3 multiple ways, by using the add media -- audio from element organizer as well as by add media ---audio from file but it won't play
MP3 plays fine when I click on it from the organizer.
I've tested the mp3's that came with elements 11 and they play fine. What's the deal?
I am using Premiere CC to edit Pro Res 422 in a sequence using the ARRI Cinema 23.976 sequence preset. My rough cut sequence has lost all audio playback. I can play audio from the source, and in other sequences in the same project but this sequence specifically is not giving my ANY playback. In audio hardware, I have set output to built-in output and made sure that my system is set to the same thing as well. When I click into channel properties, right click>Modify Channel I see 4 audio tracks set to Source Channel 1, 2, 3, 4. All are set as "Ch.1" under Channel in track.

I recently upgraded from a 5D classic to the MarkIII. Jpeg's upload fine. I've googled, looked in the manual, searched for LR update and nothing has worked.
I'm using Video Studio Pro X4. I'm just trying to make a simple, first movie and failing. I have a Sony HD Handycam that produces .m2ts files. I just want to be able to create HD movies that I can play on generic software on my tv. So I assumed I could create an MPG file and play it using Windows Media Player 11. After rendering an MPG file, I get no audio output.
- I imported the .m2ts files into VS
- Put two short clips in the timesline.
- Basic transition.
- Share -> Create Video File -> HDV (tried all options)
- I create the MPG file and I get no sound on playback using Media Player
I would think this is the most basic thing I could possibly be doing and it doesn't work. I am using an underpowered XP laptop, but I would think that would just be a speed issue. I'll get a better desktop for editing, but if I can't perform the most basic of tasks now I'm thinking it's a software issue.
Every Quicktime I import and cache into my project won't play audio, even though the audio tracks show up in the timeline with waveforms and the seqeunce specs match that of the source audio. Apparently Flame users are having similar problems. I'm having to strip out the audio into AIF for separate import and re-sync.
Oddly enough, I can hear the audio prior to import when playing the preview clip in Media Hub.

LR4 has a longstanding bug where it can no longer edit RAW files in Photoshop CS6.
Most (including me) appear to be using a work-around where a copy is made of the Photoshop CS6 executable and slightly renaming it. this is then plugged into LR4 as a third-party editor. A far from convenient or professional affair!

I have two Canon SLR's shooting in RAW and one Canon point an shoot shooting in JPG and want to collate the photos in LR4, which I was able to do up to now. I cannot find out what I did to make this happen or correct it in LR preferences.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter sending files to Photoshop for further editing, use simple "save" command to return them to Lightroom. That used to work but now only JPEG files do round trip, not raw files (DNGs) although round tripping to Elements works fine. Photoshop is saving them to my catalogue instead.
Adobe agent spent more than an hour tinkering with my computer before giving up. Tried to blame use of DNG but this is an Adobe invention. Also said to use synchronise folder command as a work round but this restores deleted files as well. He promised to "escalate the problem" and I would be called back, but that was a week ago.
