Lightroom Library does not see a subfolder in the Finder. It sees and has imported all the other subfolders. The subfolder shows up fine in the Finder and in Bridge. How do I get Library to see it?
View 1 RepliesIf you want to export to iBooks, you can't use SVG or GIF, and the export will fail if those formats are present. However, even after deleting them from the project, they're still in the Library, and exporting still fails. (Note that if you've ever used a preloader with the provided artwork, you have a GIF in your Library.)
Even if you save the project to a different folder, the images get carried along because they're still listed in the Library. One workaround to delete them from the project completely: save the project to a new folder (to make sure that no other projects using those images will be affected) and then delete the offending images manually from the Finder. You can then export to iBooks.
This may be intended behaviour, but it's a little confusing. I'd suggest that a right-click Delete option would be handy, as would a "Delete unused Library items" menu command somewhere. Or did I miss something?
I'm having trouble importing images in Illustrator CS6. Dragging from finder doesn't work, nor does the "place" option. When opening an image in illustrator, all i get is a blank document.

I try to import photos into lightroom, but it indicates that they are already imported and they supposedly exist in a particular folder. However, that folder is not showing in my library. Is there a way to correct this? The photo is there but they only way I can see it is to search for it and it will appear.

Right now the best I can come up with is to create a template folder with all of the subfolders already created and copy that template, rename it, and then import into the new folder. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a preset that allows me to export my photo to a subfolder of the original folder. In my case it's simply called jpg export. This allows me to do all my edits when the shot is in it's original "Date taken" folder and all my edited shots from that folder show up in the jpg export folder when I run the preset. My issue is that the jpg shows up in BOTH the original folder and the jpg export folder. I know it's operator error but what's wrong with my settings? Under Export Location I have Export To: Same folder as original photo (this is the reason for my problem but I am not sure what to change it to) Put in Subfolder: is checked and the folder is called jpg export. Add to This Catalog: is also checked.

My Ricoh GR creates DNG files that have previews in the Finder. But because the file sizes are big (and I don't need them so big), in Lightroom I reconvert them to Lossy DNG (using compatibility with Camera Raw 7.1 or later). Now, after this conversion, these new DNGs don't have any previews in the Finder anymore.
So, the problem must be with the DNG converter in Lightroom!
Using LR4.2 - "Show in Finder" is surprisingly not working from any views on any of my pictures. The finder does not launch at all, nothing happens. The pictures are located on an attached external drive.

Computer is running/working fine.The upshot is that my photos all have question marks now. View 8 Replies View RelatedVirtually all of my DNGs from the last four years do not display properly when previewed in OSX's Finder or opened in the Preview app. Everything in Lightroom works just fine. I note that the "linear" option is off (seems to be the default) when I import from the SDHC card to LR. I have LR "Copy as DNG" and I apply nothing other than a renaming of the file (filename.date.dng).
I've dumped the files in Library/Quicklook but that doesn't do anything.
All the importing has been done with the latest version of ACR (Camera Raw 7.1 is the latest I have).
When I use Quicklook (spacebar) in the Finder or open the file using Apple's Preview app, all I see is a large black rectangle sometimes with some "noise" appearing in the frame. Yet LR has no trouble and I can export as jpeg or tiff without any issue.
I'm running 10.8.4 fully updated. I've dumped all the caches and cleaned everything using Onyx and restarted. Still not working.
The only thing I've noticed is my older DNGs (which came from a Fuji S9100) are 12-bit (and I -can- see those files in Finder preview and the Preview app!) whereas the newer DNGs (from 2009 and newer) which were shot with my S100fs are 14-bit. All the newer DNGs have the problem.

When selecting a material from the dropdown list the material isn’t downloaded correctly.
I had just edited the appearance for that material, pointed it to a new bitmap, then added the appearance & material to the library. Then purged it all from the document.
Restarting Inventor results in the material being downloaded from the library correctly.

After using multi trim and the trimmed clips are now back in the sub library, I want to mark where they are so that I can easily locate them.I have tried to drag a colour clip from the timeline but this is not being allowed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI opened my catalog today and went to one of my folders (2011/9 September). I noticed that there were pictures in the folder that did not belong and had the wrong name attached to them. I was surprized so I right clicked selected "Show in Finder" the folder 2011/9 September opened the photo was not in the folder.
Knowing the folder it should be in I went there and sure it enough it is there with it's original name.Went back to lightroom optimized the catalog... still there. Deleted folder in Lightroom, reimported, but the files came back.
The folder on the finder has 96 pictures, the folder in Lightroom shows 146.I can deal with removing the 40 odd files in this situation but I am afraid it will occur in one of the folders where there are a couple of thousand images.All my other folders seem fine for now, what would cause this issue?
I create a file, save it and can't see it where I saved it. I go back to Ilustrator to resave and it asks if I want to replace the file that's already there. I press OK and go where the file should be and again it's not there. I open InDesign to see if I can access the file from it's "place" dialogue box and I can't see it. I tried renaming the file but Illustrator asks me if I want to replace the file with the one using the name I never used in the first place.
I don't know where I put my files when I save them. I've been doing this for 20 years
I have no previews for just PSD docs in the mac finder for a week or so now. I can see other types of doc previews. I run snow leopard on a mac book pro that is about 2 years old.
Oddly enough the trouble BEGan for me after running a normal maintenance script in ONYX (I clean the cache about once a week or so). Could be coincidence. I just installed the little "patch' from adobe but that does not work. I can see the previews in the com/4 view but in com/3, where I usually hang out, there is no preview and pressing the space bar for quick look is the same, with no preview.
When I double click on a Photoshopfile in Finder, Photoshop CS opens, but the file doesn't. It's the same when I try to open files from Quark XPress. Is there a option I have missed? Or is there something wrong with my PS? I use OSX.3 on a G4.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI work with 2 different Mac Pro towers. The one at my home has Photoshop cs4 and the one at my studio has Photoshop cs6. The other day I noticed that Finder on my studio computer shows the file size to be twice as big as the finder on my home computer. The pixel dimension size doesn't change, just the file size. It shows up that way after I save it on my studio computer. If I take that file home and resave it on that computer then the Finder shows the smaller file size again. I guess the questions I have are: Is the file size is actually increasing and if so, what could be causing that to happen? Photoshop shows the files to be the same size, but in the Finder window is where I see the difference.
