Lightroom :: How To Undo A Change To Multiple Files

Mar 29, 2013

When I went into LR4 just now I must have hit a button and all of my 700+ edited images from a specific collection started changing back to their original state. What did I push? How do I get them back without having to do it one by one in the history mode?

Lightroom :: 5 - Undo Specific Change For History Panel?

Jul 17, 2013

If LR 5 included the ability to undo a specific change fro the history panel?  This ? was asked in 2007, undoing "#3 out of 50".  At present, would have to CTRL Z all the way back OR manually adjust all slider bars.

Lightroom :: How To Transfer Image Adjustments

Mar 30, 2014

I have 3 separate external HDs I use, all with the same images backed-up for safe keeping.  I’ve made adjustments in Lightroom 5 to approx 200 images scattered throughout the 7000 images on 1 external HD.  Is there any way I can copy and paste these changes so they are consistent on the same images on the other 2 HDs?  All images are displayed in Lightroom 5.

Lightroom :: Automatic Adjustments To RAW Image?

May 30, 2012

I notice that when i import RAW images  into Lightroom and open them up, they immediately become dull, less vibrant and very different o the in-camera image. I have tried to find whether there is asetting which applied automatic adjustements to the image but have been unsuccessful.  This doesn't seem to happen when i use the Canon RAW processing software.

Lightroom :: Adjustments Are Copied To Next Image?

Jul 16, 2013

Have noticed a strange behavior lately with LR 5 when I am making small adjustments in the Basic panel. The problem seems to happen when I am moving through the images too fast. If I make some adjustments to an image and then hit the arrow key to go to the next image, all of the previous adjustments are copied over. I typically use the Previous button for a lot of my editing but LR does this on it's own. I then need to Reset the photo to default and start over. Not a huge annoyance until it gets to the point where you need to re-edit some photos and it copies over everything. This happened several times to me today. I had an event fully edited but decided there were a few photos that needed minor adjustments. As I was quickly scrolling through making adjustments where needed, I would notice that LR would drastically change the settings to match the previous photo. This completely slowed me down and I had to re-edit so many photos. In some cases it would even copy over the cropping I had done. I hate to say but I am not very impressed with this version of LR so far. Feels rushed and not polished. I understand that each version has it quirks and issues but so many for an established program. Tempted to go back to 4. Slow and unusable healing brush and now this annoyance are two major hits for me.

Lightroom :: Make White Balance / Exposure Adjustments On Top Of Current Adjustments Across Multiple Shots?

Jan 15, 2014

We have a bunch of shots taken using natural light - the shots all have completely different exposure and white balance adjustments.

Now that the shots feel like they've been shot at the same time of day (and on the same day) we'd like to start adjusting the white balance accross multiple shots - but use the current white balance/exposure from each individual shot as the starting point - not reset the adjustments.

Kind of like baking the current settings or making adjustments on top of current adjustments - or make new adjustments relative to the current adjustments.

Lightroom :: Get Undo To Work Only On Current Image Not Switch To Other Images

Jul 25, 2012

Sometimes I switch back and forth between images while working on them. If I use Ctrl-Z to undo changes it will jump back to the previous image and start undoing changes there (if I made changes in that order). Is there a way to make it stay on the current image and undo changes made before switching images? If not, that would be a useful feature.

Lightroom :: Developing Image From Smart Collection Has No Adjustments - Immediately Unselected

Nov 25, 2012

I am wondering if this could really be the intended LR behaviour? I start from a smart collection, one of the criteria is "has no adjustments".

Ok, as soon as I move the first slider in develop module, it no longer matches that criterion. But that should be no reason for LR to force me to immediately stop the develop edits on the selected image.

It immediately unselects, and I stay in Develop module with a grey window and the message "no image selected". (It does not move on to the next image, which still matches the criterion.)

I would expect that when I return to Library module, it would return to the same smart collection where I started, but I would not find my last developed images there, as they no longer match the criterion. But that LR grabs it immediately out of my develop selection?

Strange enough it stays the same, when I first explicitely selected all images while in Library/smart collection.
My expectation would be that I  have this selection fixed to work on in Develop module. Similar to when I select any images from survey view and go to Develop module.

But no, the only workaround I found is:

Start from the smart collection, ctrl a to select all, then arbitrarily click on another collection withput this criterion - selection stays fixed - then move over to Develop module.

This is LR4.1 on Win7.

Definitely my functional specification would be: never take off an image from Develop unless the user moves on to another image. So ignore from where an image was picked.

Would you consider this a bug? Or a "feature"?
Do you see the same in LR4.2 or 4.3RC? Behaviour on a Mac?

Photoshop :: Any Way To Change Undo Preferences

Apr 7, 2013

I used up the free trial on my PC a while ago, so I don't know since I haven't searched. The reason I ask is because I guess there are few different preference options for a PC and a Mac. I have Illustrator on my PC and I had the option to change the key command for undoing. When I use the program at school in the Mac computer lab, I do not have that option.

I'm interested in buying Photoshop, so I just want to know if the way to add multiple undos can be adjusted on a PC. I know it can't be on a Mac.

Paint.NET :: Fast-painting Using Undo Stack And Saving Undo History

Aug 19, 2012

I think it'd be so cool to be able to replay your entire undo history of a picture, so you can see and show others how you proceeded on a picture you made. That way, it's never necessary to capture screen video for like 10 hours and stuff..

So first you'd need to add an option to save the undo history (so that you always keep the history from when you started). Then you'd need an option to playback the undo history.

Photoshop Elements :: How To Undo A Scratch Disk Change

Nov 14, 2012

I've been editing very large images with many layers recently, and I noticed disk performance issues - so I thought that by changing my preferences to set the scratch disk to the D drive, I might improve things (more available space, not competing with Windows disk usage, etc).

Now when I launch PE, it throws up an error: 'Could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. Use the properties command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file' and refuses to open.   However, it doesn't say what file it's trying to open, so I don't know how to fix it - and I can't get into PE to change the preference back to the C drive.

Unfortunately the preferences file isn't ASCII so I can't edit it manually. Added a half-hour later:  By simply removing all the setup files I can get back into PE, but I'd still like to know what folder(s) and/or file(s) PE is trying to create on the D drive, so that I can see if there's any performance improvement.

AutoCAD .NET :: How Undo Marks Are Added To Undo Stack

Oct 20, 2011

I have a problem understanding how undo marks are added to the undo stack. In the code below a fan of lines are draw in a random location. If you run MTest a few times, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove the fans one at a time.

If you run MMulti to draw 10 fans, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove all the fans in a single step.I want to be able to remove the fans one at a time.I thought that  a  StartTransaction / Commit  pair would act as markers for the undo stack, but this isn't working.

Lightroom :: Recent Files Under Shortcut

Aug 15, 2012

When I start Lightroom from the schortcut to Lightroom 4.1 in the Windows Start-menu it works fine.In the Startmenu there is also a list of recent files that appears on "mouse over" on the Lightroom shortcut. When I click one of those recent files, my computer starts an installation process (for the 64 bit version) as if Lightroom weren't installed already. After 30 seconds of searching for the installation files at a standard location, the program states that it didn't find the files.

Because LR already is installed I click Cancel to terminate this process and just try to aviod clicking the recent files next time.

Lightroom :: Set Preferences To Open Most Recent Catalog?

May 19, 2012

I'm running LR 4.1 with ACR 7.1 on a Windows 7 64 bit OS.

I set my preferences to open most recent catalog.

I then open another catalog and do some stuff in the catalog but when I start LR next time it keeps going back to a different catalog. How can I change the settings so it either opens the most recent catalog or I get prompted for which catalog I'd like to open (I've tried both settings) and LR still keeps opening the same catalog.

I need a command in LR3 that lets me make a COPY of the recent raw files onto the drive, vs move the images to folders.

Lightroom :: Increase Number Of Open Recent Files?

In previous versions this was unlimited. It allowed me a quick way to view catalogs I have worked on even months ago. There are no options inside Lightroom 5 to adjust this that I can find.

So is there a file I can modify in the Lightroom system folder or in the registry that will remove the limited number or increase the number allowed in the list?

Photoshop :: Image Adjustments

Nov 12, 2008

Photoshop CS.

I have scanned b/w documents.

After opening the file, I change the mode from bitmap to grayscale for making adjustments. I usually need to get more contrast, ie make the paler lines darker and more visible. So, Image->Brightness/Contrast or Levels. I get small window to work with and I have preview option checked. I can see the result on the image, when I make the adjustments. Fine so far.

But then, when I press OK, it will go back to the original situation with no changes made.

Lightroom :: 3 Making Duplicate Copies Of Recent Imported Photos By Itself?

Jun 4, 2013

I use Lightroom 3 and recently it has started making multiple duplicates of recent imported (and exported) photos without me doing anything.... what happens is I import a batch of photos, make adjustments to them, export them... close lightroom.

Then when I reopen lightroom, the previous imported set of photos have all been duplicated and sometimes there is more than one copy of each photo.

Is there anything I can do to stop this? I'm pretty sure I didn't change any settings to make this happen.

Photoshop :: Image Adjustments Reverting

Sep 22, 2013

I'm trying to create a pretty simple "starfield" by using noise and then playing with the Levels. When I go to adjust the levels, everything looks good in the preview. However, when I click "ok" the image reverts back to what it looked like before, with maybe a VERY slight change, but nowhere close to what my preview had shown originally. I'm not sure what could be causing this, but it does the same thing whether I try levels, brightness/contrast, and threshhold.

Photoshop :: CS4 / Image Adjustments Don't Apply

Apr 18, 2013

I'm using CS4 photoshop on my iMac 2008. When I try to apply image adjustments like 'posterize' or 'Brightness/Contrast' or 'Levels' to my image, I can adjust the settings in each dialog box, and I see the changes on my image because the 'Preview' box is checked. But when I click 'OK', the image reverts to its original and no changes are applied to the image.

I started out by importing a .jpg into photoshop. I've tried working on this .jpg, and I've also converted to Photoshop file format .psd, and still the same problem occurs. The original image had colour, but I converted it to grayscale. I also tried not converting to grayscale, and still the same problem. I am trying to make the image high contrast, with only black and white (no grey).

The same problem also occurs when I apply my adjustments on adjustment layers. Here I am able to modify each adjustment layer. The image changes and looks the way I want. But when I go to save the image, no matter what format I save as (.jpg, .psd, or .tif) the resulting image has none of the adjustments. It's still the original.
