When I first load photos into lightroom I get a quick preview than looks like a JPEG? A second later after the image has time to load the color will change. I'm guessing that I'm seeing a JPEG preview then I'm getting what the RAW image looks like? If that is the case, is there anyway to get that preview color back without exporting as a JPEG?
View 1 RepliesJust downloaded LR 5 and noticed that I cannot jump back from a Publish Service folder preview to a different folder preview in grid mode. The only way to view photos in another folder is to restart LR 5. This only happens when I am viewing photos in a Publish Service such as Flickr.
I updated from LR 4 using Creative Cloud installer.
I'm using version 5.5 in Windows 2000. I am confused because all other images in other programs etc appear normal whereas in photoshop 5.5 they have a greenish tinge. I corrected this on the original image by choosing View > Preview > Uncompensated RGB. However, if I try colour adjustment etc e.g. variations, all the preview images still have the green tinge. Does anyone know how to correct this?
Also Uncompensated RGB is supposed to be the default view, but when I close PS the setting is lost and on opening, all images including the original are back to green. What am I missing? I have other versions 5.5 and CS on other pcs with no problems.
I try to use the adjustment brush to put color back into a black and white photo, but all it does now it color it red. How do I fix that?

I just installed Lr3 (was using 2.7) and CS5 (was using CS3). From Lr I took an image to retouch in CS5 and when it came back to Lr it looked terrible - the exposure had changed at least a stop and I did not do that in PS. I loved how I had Lr2 set up and I have lost it all. In Lr2 the edited image would automaticaalycome back with a T (for tweaked) added to the name and look like it did when it left PS.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWith LR4 and a Nikon D7000.When i import that raw in lightroom, the first view of the picture is fine then LR do its "loading" and bang, the picture changes.As RAW is not supposed to be affected by the colorspace My understanding is the embeded preview in the raw is sRGB and LR work in a different colorspace. If i change the camera for AdobeRGB, i dont have the problem and what i see from the camera to the preview then the final result is consistent.But this cause me another problem because i shoot RAW+jpeg, the backup JPEG saved in the other memory card is now AdobeRGB as well and less compatible as everybody knows, for web, print labatory, etc...
I dont have in LR any automatic developement settings.My screen is calibrated with a Spyder 3.
I'm feeling stuck in the corner as i want by backup JPEG in sRGB and n o colorshift in LR.
I noted after importing my images from my disk f(to Lr5) that some floral images were missing.Luckily they were on my backup disk so i moved these floral images from my backup disk to the proper floral folder in my int. disk f. Now how do i import these new images that are located in their particular floral folder which are indeed there.Also how do you set up these new files to do a preview setup. did try to import these new images,but lightroom would not let me do it because it grayed out the images telling me that we noted some duplicate images here. Yes, i did see a few dups of these images in the floral file. If i deleted these dups under its proper folder in disk f shouldn't lr5 let me continue the import?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI exported an image from LightRoom to Photoshop to edit it. After saving it in Photoshop and closing, I went back to LightRoom and couldn't find it anywhere. Usually it's in the same folder as the original. I also can't find it anywhere on my hard drive or in recent files in Photoshop. I know it saved it because it was a huge file and I had to wait for it to save before photoshop would close.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tweaked an image in Develop and printed some 5x7s until I got it right and then went to 13x19 (first time ever using that size with my R3000). The print preview and the print were way too red. I went back to a 5x7 and it was way red as well in print preview, so I didn't print. I replaced a light magenta cart that I think ran out during the 13x19 print, and then some others that were low, and did a nozzle check and that was okay. I have spent hours looking around all of the settings (sRGB) and can find nothing that would explain what changed between my last good 5x7 print and the red 13x19. I went back to earlier versions and had the same problem. Monitor is due for recalibration, but that probably has nothing to do with it since it changed so suddenly.

How can I get multiple images on 1 page to line up when printing on both sides? Dimensions are 3.5x2.5, 9 to a page. They are sportscards for son's baseball team. They are slightly off by 2-3 cm on all 4 sides and in betweeen. Extremely frustrating. I tried printing in Photoshops but text is blurry. In Lightroom, Images look absolutely perfect. If they would only line up. Using a Canon MG 6200 if that matters.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm using Lightroom 5.0 on Windows 7 64 bits and noticed two new bugs or problems that didn't occur before, on the import dialog: when it opens should go to the last used import preset, like in the previous versions of Lightroom. Instead it goes to none. Also the images are not visible: I allways have to hover my mouse over the thumbnails or even I'll have to click on a thumbnail to make the image (preview) appear..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using Merge to HDR to make 32-bit images the past few days. It all went beautifully until yesterday when all of a sudden Photoshop started to display any newly created images very oddily (extreme gamma/exposure values). I've been able to pinpoint it to the View -> 32-bit Preview Options window, which has very erratic values.
So somehow Photoshop defaulted to very incorrect values for this window. Is there any way to change the default values or reset this menu option?
I'm having trouble with AE CC playing a RAM preview at a realtime framerate - it's lagging behind at random speeds. This is a short image sequence (of many more to come) My iMac just seems to struggle with this, I can't figure out why. Is this a Graphics card issue?? We have an older mac here which has an older card with more ram (1024 MB) on the card, which takes longer to render the preview (is that due to less system RAM?) But, plays back with a solid 30fps framerate no worries..Is this a problem with the particular Graphics Card on this iMac? There seems to be little info about this card that I can find with After Effects.
Project task:
- I am only previewing a short (15 sec) 1920 X 1080 image sequence (either TIFF or EXR) at 30 FPS. Ram preview going at around 20-28 fps: 'fps: 20.271 / 30.00 NOT realtime'
- RAM Preview set to Full Res, 30 fps Frame Rate, Composition settings 30fps, footage 30fps
- tried lower quality settings, tried cropping video - same jerky framerate
- Even when video is rendered to a .Mov Lossless file the video is still juddery and appears to be dropping frames when played in Quick Time - VLC is better slightly.
System / Memory Preferences:
Ram shared by other apps: 4GB Ram reserved for AE: 28GB..After Effects Multiprocessing: ON Installed CPUs: 4 CPUs reserved for other apps: 2 RAM allocated per bg CPU: 6GB actual CPUs used: 2
Extra notes:
- Have tried with using less memory on the system, no diffeence - not a problem with the RAM in the iMac (which is above the recommended standard, I know, but works fine with everything)
- Running After Effects CC - no other programs running
- Works fine with other Mac we have - which is OSX Lion & After Effects 5.0 with ATI Radeon 5750 HD 1024MB Graphics Card.
- Had the same issues with After Effects 5.5
- Tried with After Effects 5.5 with Apple RAM 12GB no difference on this machine
- Monitored System CPU & GPU - no problem running at CPU 25% & GPU 40-50%
When importing images to the catalog, both the preview and import image is highly contrasted and saturated.When I use edit in the photo opens as the original image without updates. My import preswet options show none.I am using Windows7 32 bit.

View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently I reorganized my system so that my image files were on a different drive that I had previously been using a backup drive, so no additional file copying was involved. When I ran Lr it did not find any images, as expected, at the original location and I told it where to find them by pointing it to the new parent image folder. That worked fine but then it seemed as if all of the previews had to be rebuilt on the fly by Lr as I went to each folder. Could it be that the previews in the preview cache are location specific to drive/volume level rather than just folder level ? Or is there a way to aim that ole preview cache at the new image locations ?
Likewise, would this apply to the ACR cache too ? i.e. if I point Lr at the same images in the same folder names on a different drive, will the ACR cache data still be relevant or should I just scrap it and start again ?
I told Lr to rebuild previews for many of my images and it did so overnight, but now the preview cache is about 30GB instead of about 12GB. It's possible that I picked up previews of images that were previously not in the cache, but would the new cache still contain previews of the now non-existant images at the old locations ?
I have previously reverted to system backups in which the whole drive volume had previously been been copied intact. Lr always worked fine in those situations. Is my present problem because I shifted the images folder relative to the drive volume where Lr is running ?
I'm using Lr 3.6 on a 2011 MacBook Pro with Mac OSX 10.6.8.
In develop mode in LR 4.4 I get a small line through the middle of the image preview box in the navigation panel.
Why and how I might get rid of it? I used to get it in 4.3 and 4.1 too.
How do you join a multi-word keyword so it is recognized as one keyword? i.e. If you want "New York", not "New" and "York." Do you put it in quotes? Isolate it with commas? Other?

I try to do this in Library Mode, Keyword Creation box, I get 2 words.
Example, I type Los Angeles and get: Angeles, Los
Nothing I try works. I know it is common since I imported 200,000 images and I see lots of word combos used as keywords.
The selected image appears on the main/center panel but not in the preview screen. Printing results in a white sheet of paper with no image at all. The image has been updated to LR 4 - but made no difference.

When I use Print Preview in X6 the print options are not saved when I exit Print Preview to make adjustments.
I make the correction - go back into Print Preview and all options have gone back to default. Is there anyway of correcting this.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Nikon D7100. I took some test shots and imported the images to Lightroom 4.4, then generated 1:1 previews for all the images.
Previews zoomed to 1:1 in Library Mode are noticeably soft. The image below is a screen shot of the Library preview:
Moving to Develop View produces a higher-resolution 1:1 preview. The image below is a screen shot of the Develop preview:
Look at the bricks and window screens to see the difference.
This difference occurs immediately after import (with a User Preset applied during import). Once any Develop work is done, the Library preview updates and displays at full resolution.
This problem makes doing initial editing/selection of images time consuming, because I can't determine the sharpness/quality of imported images until I've done some kind of Develop adjustment on each image.
I am trying to flip between Bylayer and color 150. If cecolor is bylayer set cecolor to 150 and if cecolor is 150 set cecolor to bylayer. It seems so simple but it's not working.

I am using MacBook (late 2008) OS X 10.9.2 and recently upgraded to Lightroom 5.3 from Lightroom 4. After a while, some photo started to show exclamation mark at the right hand corner of the photo (*.CR2 raw files in NAS) in grid view. When I click on the exclamation mark, it shows a dialog with following message; "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo". So, I moved previews.lrdata, which is about 9GB, to the trash and restarted the Lightroom 5, expecting Lightroom 5 to create a new previews.lrdata. However, it won't create any preview at all.

Working in Illustrator CS5 on a Mac. When choosing a color in the palette, the preview showing up is different than what is in the palette. If I hit "OK" the actual color chosen is the one in the palette, not the preview window... Including some pics for reference. In my 10+ years of using Illustrator, i have never seen this.I am using a Dell monitor on a mac... not sure if that would make a difference.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI’m a long time Photoshop user but recently picked up LR4 to try to fine tune my workflow. I’ve noticed that after importing new files (RAW, I haven’t tried with jpg) into my library as I scroll through them (1-up, not in grid) the preview comes up and then after a second or so the WB changes to a much colder image.
Does LR4 initially preview at specific settings and then change to the individual image settings? Even if so, the final images seem very cool and I feel like I have to up the temp more than I should have to. My previous workflow was to sort in Bridge and then use ACR to import to Photoshop. I feel like I did much less tweaking of my WB this way. I feel like I’m starting from square one with LR4.
I would love to be able to export my image from 3d spherical panorama back to the complete Image. Raster image clips the image. Photoshop 3D is great for retouching the nadir (bottom) a spherical panorama image.
