View 1 RepliesI have a friend who is just completing a film for a public screening...(about 400 people, mostly volunteers involved in production.)He will be using a regular projector hooked up to a PC to play the video.The source footage is 1080p HD shot on a HVX200. Edited on Premiere Pro CS5.
What format should he use to export so he gets great quality but it can also play without the computer stuttering and dying etc? We've debated between H.264 (mpeg 4 file format) or DVD Blu Ray.MPEG 2 (or some Quicktime format?)
Do we choose h.264 and bump up the bitrate to maximum? Stick with the preset recommendation? There also is h.'264 bluray'..have no idea what difference that makes.
We're not experts on codecs and resolutions etc.Premiere Pro presents this plethora of options.
We want to choose....File ...Export....a format and preset (and maybe adjust a setting or two) and get the best result.
I searched the groups and the closest discussion I could find was here but there didn't seem to be a clear cut solution. [URL]. I have a jpg file that I needed to apply some transparency to and saved it as a png file. I now want to delete the jpg file from the folder but it's being referenced in several drawings, and I don't know which ones. Is there a way to reverse the function of Reference Manager (perhaps with a different app), ie find all the drawing files that reference my jpg file?

I have created a short film using numerous clips. The footage is shot with a ratio of 16:9 and this is how it is viewed on my PC.
However if I export it to any format other than MPEG the first and last second of each clip stretches horizontally and then returns to the correct ratio (see images). I have tried every possible conversion with no luck. It is always the first and last second of a clip and happens for every clip in the film. The only time it doesn't happen is with the title templates.
is it possible to retrieve the names of all the nested external references, and how should it be done?

View 9 Replies View RelatedJust noticed that all photos that I had imported since last July have disappeared from the library. I've checked that I'm not using the backup library. I'm not sure what is the cause or even really if it just happened. I've imported photos last week, and those are present. But those added between end of July and end of December (the last import before the one last week) are gone. The files itself are still present, but they are not part of the library anymore. Though, I'm happy the originals are intact, I'm frustrated at the thought of redoing all the keywords, ratings and develop settings.
My setup: mbp with 2 drives (one contains all applications, the other has lightroom library). The raw files are on an external drive. Until today I've been using version 3.5. I upgraded to 3.6, hoping that maybe this will fix this, but no luck.
How I can restore references to the images in my library?
I keep recreating my directory tree to fix this, but LR keeps recreating a folder with the same name as my import folder. So imagine my overall structure is:

LR will create a new directory reference at the top of the list of directories, in lowercase. So at the top of the directory list, you'll see, after an import ...
lr photos (note lowercase)

It seems like it's related to the import process, but i never manually type or change during imports -- i leave it alone, and yet it makes this new lowercase reference. (it does not actually create new folders on the hard drive.)

Using an old enlarger I managed to take pictures of old 6x6 cm black and white film negatives. And promised someone to do so with a lot of them (her father's heritage).
I have come up with the following temporary starting points:
I just started shooting film again. Having just received back my first few rolls back scanned as JPEGs on to CD, I wanted to import these into my Lightroom library (LR5), but have been unable to do so.
I am trying to import them the same way I import RAW digital files, but when I try that way, they won't import. The only way they import is when there is no destination file set and they are simply stuck in a general "New Folder". Even when I try to simply rename the "new folder" to something more specific I am unable to do so.
When in the develope module I have the film strip at the bottom of the page, I export the current image to CS 6 and then save from there. On returning to LR the last image saved is always at the right hand end of the film strip. You then have to scholl all the way to the left to find your next image to edit. Is there away of stopping this happening..

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Lightroom 4.4. and Windows 7--both of which have been working fine for several months. Starting a few days ago, however, thumbnails have refused to load for any NEW photos I import. They appear gray/blank in both Grid view and the film strip. However, if you click on any of the film strip thumbnails (while in either Grid view or Develop mode), that thumbnail and corresponding image WILL load--until up to three have done so. Then they begin disappearing again, allowing you to view no more than three images' thumbnails at any one time.
I can't review a shoot via Grid mode this way. I'm also afraid to use Lightroom while it's misbehaving, for fear of corrupting the catalog somehow (though all the images appear to be there). Searching this forum, I found several people who experienced having all of their thumbnails blank out and who were able to correct this by either reinstalling or removing their color profiling software. However, 1) I did this (and it didn't work), and 2) it isn't that all my thumbnails that have disappeared. All the thumbnails and images imported prior to the bug, still initially display correctly.* And I can get three thumbnails of the newer images to appear at a time.
*The asterisk is because after I poked around some more, I realized that if I opened other folders and began post-processing images from older uploads (vs. just viewing them), the thumbnails that initially displayed correctly everywhere also blank out and begin appearing in this up-to-three-at-a-time fashion.
Win 8.1 64 bit A Toshiba Satellite laptop, LR 5.3. When I try to export I get a window without export buttons at the bottom to do the export. Further if I try to resize the export window the export window disappears and LR freezes requiring to ctrl/alt/del to close it. I cannot export anything to HD or email, etc.
I was in a class last night where everyone had Macs and the buttons appeared on their versions and worked fine. Totally repeatable. I can supply screen shots.
Makes LR totally useless.
I've created various snapshots of a series of photos and I'm ready to export. Is there a way to export all the snapshots at once, in a single export step? Up to now, I've been doing this step by step, exporting one version of the image, than going to the next snapshot and exporting again.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have one big pipeline drawing and need to "split" it into smaller drawings..there are layers, v500, v250, v100 that represent size of pipeline.i'd like to extract all elements from layer v500 to drawing v500.dwg, after that v250... etc.
problem is that i would select only elements from v500, erase all other and than save it as v500.dwg... and then what? undo all and repeat everything with another layer?
is there a way to copy elements to another drawing and save and then return to original drawing and execute another set of commands?
I would like to save the data generated by LISP program at command prompt area to any data base app or any simillar app from where I can retrieve the stored data again in autocad for further usage.
For example, A LISP program generate the result as shown in above Fig. I would like to save the data of step 5, "Shear force in tonnage is : 50.868" to any database application or any simillar one from where I can retrieve the stores data for further usage.
Found this routine online and am hoping to modify it to my needs, just not sure how to proceed.
It exports the text out of the dims into an excel file, the issue I have is that it automatically opens a new book every time you run the lisp with the original workbook open.

I have been searching for a way of exporting multiple polyline or spline coordinates to txt file and all I can find is ones that write out as a single continuous list of coordinates with nothing denoting which one is which.
I really need it to be able to export each polyline as a group, and I would also love for it to be able to include the number of points and name of the layer e.g. :
